    I picked up a P320 compact yesterday. Spent several hours on the range putting hundreds of rounds through it. WOW!!! What an amazing pistol. It’s will be my EDC. Went today and put money down on the P320 M18. Can’t wait to get that one home!!!

    Picked one up about a 2 months ago, when compared to a glock 19/17 I like it better. The grip angle and weight behind the trigger add up to better follow up shots and more precise shooting, people will say “high bore axis” but that’s just the glock fan boys this is a great gun, reliable and enjoyable to shoot, I would trust this gun with my life and Im damn sure this would win the fight, there’s a reason the us military went with it. Pick one up sig really knocked this one out of the park.

    Picked up my first 320 M18 W-model from the exchange at Parris Island. I'm a Glock fan boy and I was surprised how well this gun shot for me. So nice that I sold my G19X. Everyone that has not tried one of the P320's needs to shoot one for a day. Good review

    Ive always been just a s&w fan. But went window shopping with my oldest boy yesterday. And he has his heart set on this one. So were about to get the s&w M906 9mm for me (my favorite) and get my son this one for his first pistol. And going to battle it out at the range to see who does better. Thanks for the review. I wanted to make sure his first is something he will always take pride in. And something he can easily learn from.

    I have a M18, I don't own a Beretta.. The biggest gripe for the M17/18 is (as a lot of others), is the wide rear sights. I'm not as accurate with it as I am with other platforms. Growing up in the 80's/90's I'm used to having a safety it's normal for me to swipe my non safety wepons it just muscle memory.. All in all, I like it but it's not my first choice to carry, I'm just one of those weird people that a Glock fits and I can shoot very well.. As I say all this, I'm carrying a CZ P-07 lol..😎 With more time I'm sure I'll get better with the Sig platform. Good video and hope you have a great weekend, until I see you again, stay safe.

    I was not a big fan of it out of the box. It needs a trigger BAD!! It also needs the extractor tuned or re-tuned because about every 2 or 3 shots it throws hot brass on me, I even notice yours was doing the same thing. So here's my problem, you spend $800 bucks on the weapon then have to do a $100+ trigger install, then have to send it back to Sig for 6 weeks to get the extractor tuned and when get it back you've got a $1000+pistol that's now in the same class as every other $400-$500 pistols on the market out of the box. Why bother?

    It’s more safer to have the trigger heavier or heavy because others they have the trigger so sensitive by only just one a little bit touch the fires gos off that’s why I recommend a preferred Sig Sauer and 18 or 17 because of the trigger is really really important to have heavy trigger and you touch the trigger I use the trigger so sensitive if you touch it a little bit so I highly recommend the Sig trigger is more safe others have sensitive triggers

    Could you place the P320-RX slide to the M17 frame? The RX sights are much improvement from the M17's rather chunky rear sight. The taller profile RX sights are better suited to installing an RMR. It looks like the M17 rear sight requires removal to attach an RMR(?)
    P320 M17, Glock 19X, and Beretta M9A3? Buy all of three, and find out which one is best for you. Stop bickering and complaining over which one is "better".

    The Army took huge step backwards from the Beretta. These Sig Sauer M-17s are cheaply made throw away pistols, the materials are cheap, it is unbalanced and grip feels cheap, the trigger sucks, nice sights. The BLUF, the contract went to the lowest bidder that met the contract specs, I predict the Army will replace it soon.

    • @dev--null
      @dev--null 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My sentiments, exactly. The Army chose it as it was the cheapest acceptable option - cost for the Army is $85 or so. There were some politics as well, for them not testing it properly. It looks boxy, cheap and plastic-ky, with high bore, heavy trigger and shoots when dropped, but it is "mo-dul-aaar". Who gives a rats ass, do you think the Army will custom fit the handguns for every solder?! No way and no how. At this price ($85) after a year service if it break goes in the decommission garbage. Sig's business plan is - get the Army contract at all costs, make up the difference with the fanboys at x10 price.

    2:05 If that was Beretta's official POV regarding this handgun's reputation and not being aware from the entirety of the US military that had been using it for 30 years? That's just ignorant af. I was unit armorer in early 2000's across the pond in Germany for Big Red One. It was known then of its less than stellar reputation. Beretta playing dumb to try and get sympathy comes across as desperate and clueless on their part. Just bought the M17 myself a couple days ago on base. Compared to the Beretta M9 I was used to as an armorer, the M17 just has a much better feel to it. Heavier, chunkier, more solid fit for a handgun--miles better than the M9 from Beretta. (My wife got the Glock 19x couple months ago... the 2nd place handgun of that contest if I'm not mistaken. It's about 5oz lighter and 1/4" smaller in measurements too. Overall, perfectly content with the M17... both as a gun owner and as a military service member knowing that's the direction the military went for their next handgun.)

    I know back in 2016, 2017 Sig paid out millions of dollars for the 320s discharging without trigger pull. Do you have any worry that this could still be an issue? I want to get a M17 but that is the one thing holding me back.

      You should check out cbc news in Canada. They did a pretty in depth article about how the Canadian special forces are going away with the sig 320 because it is unsafe. Also check out God, family, and Guns TH-cam page. He posted a super interesting video 7 months ago of multiple malfunctions even after the "fix" There is also a lawyer in Florida that posted a great posting on sig 320 lawsuits. I can find his info and give it to you if you want

Maybe in a few years if the lawsuits die down. I love this Sigs I have so hopefully this gets resolved.

    I have carried multiple pistols for work over a 35 plus year span. I initially bought 2 M18's but have since sold one and the other will be going on GB. There is too shady of a history behind the P320 pistols. Sig seems to rush too many products into production before enough R&D is put into them forcing them to correct issues after the fact. Mine shot OK but Glock should have won the contract, always comes down to money and behind the scene politics. The big flaws are high bore axes and low tang so the pistol is more snappy than a Glock and non adjustable rear sights. The grip should have been thinner as well to fit women and wen with smaller hands better. So if it shoots to the left or right that is what you're stuck with and you have to compensate with sight picture. I also did not like the trigger. I am not a trigger snob and like the factory Glock triggers. I own or have owned over 100 pistols and have ben an armorer for over 30 years on multiple brands of firearms so I have a vast knowledge and use of various handguns. I just wish we could have gotten better pistol for our soldiers. Our Glocks never failed us but the government and bureaucrats did not want to listen to those of us that actually use them...

      I understand what you're saying but that was a long time ago and from what I know, the issue has been resolved. Remember all the issues Glock has with the Gen 4? They were fixed and people moved on from it

    • @jeffmcclendon3835
      @jeffmcclendon3835 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow, the inaccurate information in this post. I own a Glock 19 Gen 4, Beretta M9 and the Sig M18. The Sig M18 with medium grip module (contrary to your post they come in different sizes) was just a shade too big for me to get the first joint seam of my trigger finger comfortably on the trigger. Unlike the Glock 19 Gen 4 and especially the M9, all I had to do was spend an extra $50 to purchase the small grip module and the M18 fit me perfectly. With the Glock 19 Gen 4 I had a similar issue and purchasing a smaller grip module was not an option. Changing the back straps was not enough. I had to spend hours trying to custom fit it by removing the finger grooves and the original stippling and redo the entire grip shape. I realize that Glock submitted a variant of the 19X for the trials. The 19X fits me fairly well BUT as Glock found out, the US military is no longer satisfied with a one size fits all approach or with fire control units not being easily replaced. With the M9’s aluminum frame…..that is not an option. With the M9, I have to completely change my grip to effectively reach the DA trigger position. So, with the size of hands being very different in our armed forces male and female personnel and keeping the manual thumb safety like the M9 and 1911s, Sig’s M17/18 was the obvious choice for our military’s current and future members. Glock could have offered more variations in grip modules and added a manual thumb safety……they chose not to do that.
