Good evening everyone. Early start caught me off guard for this installment. Salah triple captain just killed me amidst having the vice captain armband on Havertz.
Can calm you with having Haaland trippel captain earlier this season when he went of injured after 45min, in a 6-1 win against Bou with zero points to his name.
Having some jam this week though, Haaland being injured is paying of this time, 20pt Branthwaite of the bench 😂

Az I don't often side with you when you disagree with Mark, but fwiw, I'm a 100% with you on Jackson. 😂
Couldn’t relate more to your experience Az. It’s a bit demoralising when every 50/50 decision goes against you. It feels like everything has been going against me this season. All the risks I’ve taken haven’t paid off. I think a change of perspective might be needed, and shift from focusing on points to focusing on enjoyment first and foremost.
Palmer is just sick I believe.

Ill be shocked if Mark doesn't get a top 10k. Ridiculous amount of luck this season. He's due a few bad gws but surely not towards the end
Last 4 GWs, on wildcard, playing 'fantasy' football - a game about a made-up team getting made-up points. Why play safe? You've got to go for the fun picks, 15 DGW players
A crazy week. 150 points, 78% rank rise up to 25k (which will come down a bit over the City game), went from 5th up to top in one of my two main mini leagues, extended my lead to 120+ points in the other - all while keeping Salah and Saka as my only attackers from those teams, had Virgil and McBurnie too. Very aware there's some proper jam involved with Palmer and Haaland being out and other things.
I think what's telling of the peak FPL type nature of the week is that in my ML's there's a guy getting 20 points from JARRAD BRANTHWAITE replacing ERLING HAALAND (read that again), and another one getting 38 points from his bench on the BB - from two Everton defenders, with Palmer and Haaland not playing.
You absolutely couldn't make this up.

I went with White, Odegaard and Saka on my FH. Took Havertz out last minute
I think Az's review of himself just shows how much luck plays a part in our seasons.... look at all the permutations involved in our decision making... I thought I finally got my Captain right in Jota 3% owned 24 pts in the DGW and then he gets a Hip injury for the second game ffs.
Maybe I've just become a grumpy old man, but I've found the easily digestible FPL content more problematic this season, and it has made the season feel massively boring
More casual players can just watch a TH-cam short or a tiktok telling them to make xyz transfers and hold their chips for specific weeks, it removes reward for putting more effort.
Mate at work doesn't watch football, hes 8k OR after spending his season following a TH-camr and making changes 10 minutes before the deadline every week.
Whilst I agree it's less than ideal that people who barely engage in the game can still play very well strategically, it's all out of our control and thus you should commit 0 mental energy to it- it is a luck based game after all.
Based on what you wrote, I am assuming your season hasn't gone as planned? It's just best all round to detach yourself emotionally from the outcomes of 22 strangers whacking a sack of wind around. I love the highs and just ignore the lows.
As it's not a draft system (we can all own the same players), if other FPL managers have done well and you haven't, it's either a skill issue or luck and it's up to you to decide how much of each it was!
If you think it’s that easy for casual players, those ‘serious’ players that they follow are just doing what an paid algorithm (FPL Review) tells them to do.
Then it just becomes an endless cycle of spoon feeding that basically kills the skill gap.
This game has never been easier, think Mark’s general apathy to this season reflects that and even he chucks in the FPL Review ‘optimal’ wildcard team to confirm the vast majority of his own wildcard team.

I tried to get son Foden Estu and Muniz to Mateta Olise Eze and white -8 one game week punt
Was busy sorting out mates suprise 50th and my phone died. It was in his home. My phone would not charge. Foden captain. No Haaland about 50bpoints down.
when I realised this I missed the deadline
It really has been a PTSD week even as a Palace fan and enjoying the goals. My mates 50th wis a palace fan.
Lesson learned don't wait for deadline news when you have a busy week
Gone from 15k to 180k in 2weeks as you always want your team to win over FPL but this was a good season especially with WC35 and bb37

Why are people not seriously considering de bruyne?
Podcast echo chamber….agree! Need more chips in game to diversify…otherwise this game will be dull year after year. Need more upside points for taking risks against template!
AZ don't trade out saka for son. Get rid of salah instead. I support LFC and he's been awful for months. I went Salah to eze (C) for the DBL and no complaints. Also bin nunez for isak
