“If your house is on fire, you don’t wait 3 weeks for a flood to put it out” was an incredible metaphor 🤣
Incredible metaphor but not really a great one in FPL terms.
Playing a wildcard is like building a new house but that new house could catch fire again in a few weeks.
It is probably better to take a few hits now to put out the fire because when the fire comes again in a few weeks you still have a wildcard to build a new house.

Totally agree with Mark about early transfer it's all about your risk appetite. In my opinion most of the content creators particularly this week are saying not to transfer early to protect their deadlines stream numbers
Joe the smug dullard has been so boring with his anti-early transfer rhetoric. Nice to see Mark call people like him out.
I've been going early for years and been caught out twice. That's it. I've got 3 top 5k finishes , 9 k and a 10530 in 16 years. Believe me when I say that going early will outweigh waiting at the end as I always have money to get a strong team
@@EliteFPL. this has to be caveated by mentioning that arguably the GOAT of FPL, Fabio Bórges, who has often said he never moves early on players in order to get maximum info possible...
@@EliteFPL.That being all well and true, I've had 2 top 10k finishes and currently sat in the top 25k this season and very rarely move early. I guess a better example is Fabio Bórges, undeniably one of the FPL GOATs, has often stated he will never ever move early in order to benefit from maximum time and info. I guess it's all about the kind of FPL manager you are (and your risk appetite). I'm sure 800k managers will be regretting that risky early Bowen move now, however...
@@jojoquattrocchi5263 maybe. You know I don't rate Borges as highly as most. I mean his ranks are great but it's a known fact he blindly uses that Mikkels model that is subscription and has done for years so it takes some of the shine away for me. The best ever player is Ville Ronke who did it without any model
Adz, big fan but I think playing the wildcard this week is nuts. Especially as you're baking the whole thing in to have a non playing ~13m MF sitting on your bench for likely, the next 4 gws.
Don't mind that plan at all, but at least wait till salahs price drops and his return is near. There's nothing saying that he'll come back from AFcon fit, or that Liverpool won't have multiple blanks when he does return. Throwing another spanner in the works that you just don't need.
Think you are over thinking it. Your teams is not that bad, take the -4 or -8 (lots of players will be doing these this week!) and wait until that wildcard will gain you some serious points by maximising your double / blank strategy.
Keep your head up. You're only one or two good gameweeks away from the pack, just need a few differentials or captaincys to go your way.
For now you've just had a rough season to the start of the season. That's all. Still all to play for with half a season left. Anything can happen.

Just let him play it dude. I'm sure he knows what he's doing. With his rank if he plays like everyone else he's done for. That wildcard could give him a really nice lift in the ranks. When Son and Salah are back it's template season again and opportunity gone. Don't listen to Mark, Az 😂. Do it your way dude

I think I will probably hold off. I might just try and be a bit more aggressive and take the -8, might even captain Pedro too given his form, how we've been playing and the fact I'm not totally sold on other options!
How lucky has Mark been this season. Playing reckless by making early moves and they all come off. The first time he decides to not take the risk Bowen ends up with his first injury like forever and in the final few mins. Definitely his season this one. Surely it runs out soon... Or does it ..😂😂😂

I'm on a wildcard and very happy with the decision. 3 of the preferred AZ Brighton players are in, Toney to Haaland next week, Team value 105.5. Great show as always lads

I’m considering the WC as well. It’s definitely a turning point but several pieces in the jigsaw missing is what is making it difficult. Waiting 1 or 2 GWs on the other hand reduces the potential advantage.

My info on Trent is that it a knee ligamentous injury which will be at least three weeks with a review of his progress after that time. No mention of a return date.
Jota, Darwin, Gakpo and Diaz will play every game -rotation of who starts but all play. That is how they beat Arsenal and Fulham -all 4 on in the last 30 minutes,
I’m on wildcard and am very happy with it have set up nicely to get haaland and salah back and want to push on so getting Brighton and foden in whilst everyone else doesn’t have them is worth
Price change transparency could work with "player pricing 2.0" - where modifying player price rise or drop speed is influenced by player score over the last X gameweeks. The gift here is that if FPL, in retrospect, have over-priced an asset, he should fall at a greater velocity than one who's delivering at or above an "expected" level. Equally, under-priced players should rise more aggressively. Then in the mid to late season, Rashford has come down to 7m for example. Someone like Palmer becomes more expensive, leading to more rewards for engaged managers & greater diversity in the template later on. Right now, Rashford costs 0.3 more than Bowen (!!!). They set prices in July and there's hardly any big swings until the next July. There should still be a drop or rise limit per gameweek, and perhaps even a more restrictive one, especially when considering assets that run extremely hot or extremely cold. They really could use a transparent, fair & logical price change system that engages players & rewards them for that engagement.
Or maybe I could get a life...
is there a table that exists about the % of goals that are scored in the last 30minutes of games? This might be valuable in terms of assessing the importance of rotation and late subs in various teams. Starters gets more minutes but impact subs often get the late goals and assists...

Funny moment at 1:10:50. Az made the mistake of treating the negative as a decrease. Mark corrects him but then he immediately treats a column's negative value as a decrease in the next sentence
Never had a problem with the sound here. Makes me think it's an individual thing.
If I ran FPL I would only update prices once per GW, after the deadline, and not publish 'live' transfers in/out data during the week. Everybody would be in the same boat of ignorance and no need stress about early transfers.

Surely it makes more sense to start with Haaland instead of Toney and then take a short term punt in midfield like Richarlison while keeping money in the bank for Salah
Toney to Haaland would be 1 transfer with a one week punt and weaker bench until 24 when Salah is back whereas Richarlison to Salah would also be 1 transfer but it wouldn’t need to be made straight away it would be more like a 2/3 week punt

Foden is an issue when everyone is back. And City changes tactics when Haaland plays, Foden less effective then. Not sure he's better than Rich.
lads you really need to sort out the mic volume balancing, especially at the start of the show. Impossible to listen to Az (loud) and Mark (quiet as a mouse) at the same volume. I love your content but honestly close to not bothering watching you now!

Mark's general method of prediction:
Oh, I have Bailey and Watkins, Villa to score 3. Oh, I have Doughty, Luton to win 1-0. Oh, I have triple Newcastle defense, Newcastle to win 1-0. It's okay to sometimes own players with a bad fixture and not make predictions that suit your team.
Didn't like their estimation of some teams either: Luton, West Ham, Arsenal to name a few.
Yeah it lets Mark down a little. I have noticed he's very biased towards his own players. I would like him to be a bit more balanced. I prefer Az and Andy in this respect. I actually trust their views on a player more than I do Mark tbh
Dougherty isn't a good FPL pick going forward imo either.

Az you literally have all the point scorers this week. Darwin, Palmer, Saka, Watkins, Porro, Gabriel, Estu. Complete waste of wildcard.
AZ almost ridiculed a bit too much by Mark and Andy. But AZ’s comments generally seem less well informed.

As for price change transparency. Come on? Do you really want everything spoonfed to you? Jeez. Pretty soon this game will be automated. Price changes is the only thing that isn't accurately spoonfed. The problem is these awaful price change sites. I think FPL should randomise it even more just to kill them off once and for all. They should never change the price rises. As for casuals if they can't be bothered to look for info then tough shite 😂
