In this video we will show you how to replace a combustion air motor also known as a inducer motor for your funace. This application is for the model number starting with a DGAA & DGAX.
Had the new part for 2 winters now, but never could find the right video or person to do the replacement. Found it !! Next winter I will have a furnace again, which is awesome because northern Utah winters are a bit rough with just a space heater...even in a single wide.
Great vid, my inducer motor on a brand new unit is making rattling sounds..maybe its crooked or bent or maybe there is debris on top..or a leaf haha. Probably just assembled quickly and cheaply.
Of course on mine the OEM motor seized up. It is an AC shaded pole motor that is impedance protected so that it will not burn up if the bronze sleeve bearing seizes. I was lucky in that I could remove the front and LH screws from the motor plate and merely loosen the RH one (somewhat to the rear) that is hard to get to. That allowed me to tilt the motor mounting plate downward so that I could squirt a drop of Knocker Loose penetrating oil on the motor shaft but could have used any penetrating oil. Then a drop of turbine oil on the shaft going to the fan blade. This was several weeks ago and the fan is still working; it is only temporary as I wanted a new unit in hand plus gaskets. The new after market unit is made in Taiwan and it says on the label that the motor is ball bearing so it should outlast the furnace; the motor plate on the new unit is pop riveted in place so this trick will not work. The new inducer was about $70 off amazon delivered so the price was pretty good. The gaskets crossed to a York part number and the first one that arrived is NOT for this furnace. The duct temperature is less than 100 F so the fan is not really getting that hot. I really appreciated this video as I am now confident that I can make the replacement with very little down time. BTW, I called the original installer and they never bothered to return my call so I guess they do not want my business. When I had the black plastic cover off I had problems keeping the gasket in place during reassembly so so I used some fast 3M adhesive to hold it in place.

Can anyone confirm which way the fan in this blower should be blowing?
The air goes down, into the furnace from the roof.
Thank you. This helped a lot

Wish you had posted part numbers. But great video.
Thank you for sharing
good video. thanks for this!!!
Make a video of the startup of this furnace, Please and thank you.
Can you do a video on mobile home 101 for dummies? I’ve never lived in one and thinking of buying one. Clueless how it all works 😂
I hate mobile home furnaces
