Watching this really makes me wish EA would add a bunch of modern furniture to the base game. The quality of the newer assets is miles ahead of where it started. The original base game item aesthetic looks like it’s from someone’s grandmother’s house. The developer made houses are always so ugly because it’s always whatever the new aesthetic is mixed with grandmother. And not in a cute granny chic kind of way. Just dusty and sad
This is supposed to be the Tinkers house, isn't it? This is a gorgeous version that maintains it's original style. I always felt this house didn't fit the Tinkers personalities. I redid it once to reflect the family better. This has given me an urge to redo my redo.
I completely agree. I've always felt that the house fits neither the neighbourhood, nor the characters. I'd never actually considered the idea of it being old, and then developed around, so I think i'll use that. Perhaps they bought it at auction as a fixer upper and Tina is doing a green renovation. It still does seem like a very small lot for the style of house though.

I think this was a reject house from Willow Creek that they decided just to throw in here and add a couple of Eco Lifestyle items that make 0 sense. Hideous and ill-fitting for this world. Aden, you saved it, for sure.

i've got "juice" goggles on tonight and at first glance i saw the original EA build and thought "oh it's not the worst, at least for them" but the more i looked at the details the angrier i got-- unrelated to their lot restrictions, there was no excuse for that initial roofing or window placement. i do love a good reno that improves the lot without completely changing the structure or aesthetic of the original build--i especially like the entrance hall, with the color of the rug and bookshelf contrasting with the walls. edit: idk if you've ever renovated StrangerVille Overlook before (you might've built a new house in its place in let's build the worlds for some original characters), but the inside of that house is so offensively ugly if you're looking for reno recommendations
i will never get over that one backward roof piece! how did something like that make it through? it's giving 'forgot to put a toilet in the bathroom' or 'stairs to nowhere'.
Vote: Having a "before and after" comparison from stripping/resizing the original to its new form, before the landscaping/interior... to highlight your genius for us less imaginative, of course

Aden, great video, as always! I was in tears laughing throughout that whole opening. As for the pack selections staying clicked in the build/buy menu, if I’m not mistaken, Better Build/Buy WILL keep them selected when you go in and out of the menu normally, but any time you use the eye dropper, that menu gets reset.
When you were commenting on the landscaping and roofing/shell, you triggered me so bad because you’re right. This house is gopping but in a subtle way. When you see it though you can’t forget or forgive it. EA what are you doing?!
This is such an amazing improvement on what has to be one of the worst EA builds! I love that you are trying to keep to the pack and EA limitations for these rebuilds too. Vlaad's mansion (using base game and the vampires pack) could be a really interesting future rebuild - it's not the worst of EA builds, but it's one that could have been made so much more inspiring and immersive to play in.
Just do them all, all of them up to the point where they started using people who could actually build to build them. The Charms mansion needs help. The Amicable Acolytes house needs a miracle....I get there's only so much ugly you can look at in one day, but you literally are saving the worlds.
You know what probably happened, someone at EA forgot he or she had to make a house and they haphazardly slapped things here and there--as I do sometimes (ha ha), and turned it in--just in time for the pack to come out, and they were hoping no one would notice....they were wrong. Anyway, I like watching you build because you give me ideas. I have several for this build. A lot of missed opertunities.

Choices in this house I kinda understand, but this piece is just breathtaking. Why is it there? Why’s it pointing that way? Distressing 6:05 lmao you heartless beech 😂😭 This actually may be one of my favorite ugly houses, it’s like the inverse Judith Ward house. A house like hers (for example) will knock you from map view alone with its bizarre and uggo proportions, whereas the facade of this one is honestly kinda enticing until you zoom in and realize that everything is somehow Wrong. Or in the parlance of the 00s, she’s a Monet: gorgeous from far away, and a mess the closer you look 9:40 ugh even that little bit of hedging makes this blend into the world so much better! 10:55 Ooh 👀 do the other terrain tools slow down the game? 13:47 cue dozens of shouts of “FILTH!” 17:00 Why not use some eco living instead of all base game objects in the kitchen? I don’t have eco living, I tried it while it was free and quickly realized that that one dope wallpaper was NOT worth $40 to me. Well done fixing this place. I still hate it (other than the living room and the last bedroom) but it isn’t fundamentally offensive like the EA version was, so I’ll give the interior a 5/10. The exterior is a wild improvement though, she’s a solid 8/10! There’s so many base game objects in the original build that I doubt it was made for Eco Lifestyle at all. Looks like they just plopped in some of the skill objects and called it a day.
This build was one of the worst in my opinion, I don’t know what happened when they build it but it was wrong in so many ways but what you have done is 1000x better! It looks so good and is a great improvement! Love it 🥰
OMG the more you look at it, the worst it gets. This is definitely McMansion level of horrible architecture. Maybe they were going for it exactly and we didn't get the joke... hahaha I'll say this, the house still look out of place, but now it looks intentional. It looks like an old house that was kept in the area and didn't change with the modernization around, but that was exactly the plan. Much, much better now. And base game! Impressive!
