have a much bigger machine but what applies to one applies to another- you have a great and simple way of instruction that a lay man can follow and understand with that am able to approach the leaking problem now with a bit of knowledge as to what time and parts are involved to correct this making it easier for me to leave the fix to the experts or attack it myself thank you for this much appreciated
Pretty straight forward. Label and remove all hydraulic lines on the top and bottom of the joint. Take the 2 bolts out on the top of the joint that indexes the top to the turntable. Next you will need to remove the 4 bolts that support the joint to the track frame. Have a come-a-long from the top or a jack from the bottom to support the joint. It's fairly heavy and it's just about impossible to remove the bolts and support it at the same time without a 2nd set of hands or the jack. Good luck!
Cool! That must be a monster. I'm guessing it's pretty much the same thing, but on a way more massive scale. I would really like to see what it looks like and how it differs. Will you be posting a video? Let me know so I can check it out. Thanks!
Good, I hope it turns out to be helpful. I had a lot more video, but cut it down for the sake of time. Take your time and keep it clean and it should all go well. Thanks!
Hey i have a old jd 490 it has the steal balls im having a hardtime finding any info ...any hel wouldbe greatly appretiated i purchased a test service repair manual of around 700 pages but that is the only part without details . Mine had 14 balls on the lower and 20 on the upper .it looks to me like there may be one missing on the lower
Replaced my seals today after seeing your vid. All went well but when I had it reassembled I wasn't able to rotate the shaft by hand or with an aid. I diassembled it again but can't see anything wrong. I am wondering if it would matter not been able to rotate it by hand. Any info appreciated
great video. I just removed center joint from my hitachi ex 200 and replaced the seals. Looks like i did it right according to your video but when i put it back in the machine it still leaks . I did not replace any steel bearing since one did not come with the kit and i don't think there was one in there but i could be wrong. any advice on what the problem could be would be appreciated. Ray

Where did you get the bushing/ bearing from? I can’t seem to locate one for my ex-100.
What was going on with the tractor? I know leaking oil. Did it crawl slow and rotate slow also?
Good job sir
