- We all feared this day would come. I’ve agreed to do a video with...an AR. Hopefully it was enjoyable to watch, I will keep you updated on my long road to recovery from this traumatic experience. And thanks to V Seven for sending it out!

About Me
My name is Brandon Herrera. I'm the owner and operator of The AK Guy Inc, a 07 Firearm Manufacturer based out of Fayetteville, NC. I also co-own Stark Media Group, and designed the rifle known as the AK-50.
I've started to dedicate this TH-cam channel above all to have fun, but also as a way to document my entrepreneurial journey for the next few years as I try to grow my companies. Hopefully, people can learn from my example, successes, and failures.
Either way, I'm having a lot of fun with it so far, and I hope it's just as fun to follow along!

For safety to new gun owners, correction that 5.56 and .223 are NOT identical and interchangeable. .223 Wylde and 5.56 guns can use either, but 5.56 has about 7-10k higher internal working PSI, so you must use .223 in .223 rifles.
My understanding is if the gun is 5.56, you can use either. If the gun is .223, you can only use .223. I’m not familiar with .223 Wylde though.
.223 Wylde is the name for the chamber design that can use .223 and 5.56

@@lq7777 yup 5.56 can take .223 but .223 cannot take 5.56. I would 100% recommend getting an AR chambered in 5.56 for wider access to ammunition, both 223 and 556. The extra power on the 556 is nice as well.

AK guys: "DAM THING JAMMED AGAIN!!"
My AK held the bolt open once, but it wasn't the last round. The rivet holding the gas piston to the bolt carrier stripped right off and jammed the piston in the rear position by occupying the gas tube. Shitty American made Century rivet.
You can make one that have that feature.
I have bolt hold open mags and they make me thing the AK jammed sometimes. Lol

I lived in a commie regime, so I was surrounded by various ak rifles all my life. When I moved to usa in 89, I had used ak rifles and mosin nagants in my free time, later, I discovered the m4 and ar15 rifles, lets say that I love both. I am neither ak guy nor ar guy. I am a neutral guy.

I think you miss the "carpati" pistol! I just came from romania. My father in law (romanian) lives just near the police Station. Of course, in Romania you gotta know all the police guys there. (It is a question of good neighbourhood)

Fun fact it does matter because that's the standard of what calipers read at I mean you could always get calipers that read at 10, 000th but that's usually where it stops mattering for most things

This is awesome! Must've been hard for you to pretend you're not having fun/loving every moment of it. Sure, we know you as the AK guy, but obviously you love guns and this must've been a heck of a lot of fun! Personally I don't like the modern rail systems, but gotta admire how practical/thought out they are. I'd never run one without a handguard or grip. Not that I can get one in my country, ha! Love this video.

I just realized I’ve never worn eyepro when shooting
Mfw the only “eye pro” that I wear is regular glasses that I wear so I can actually see the iron sights on any gun.
@@ethanknight664 I've had stuff come back at me at least twice while shooting. Never had it bounce off my eye protection but got a bit of lead bouncing right off my throat once shooting handguns at ~30ft distant steel targets, and a shell casing or something nailed me near the ear one time when I was standing behind and to the right of a guy unloading an AR.

Failure #1: The bolt was stuck to the rear after that first mag. Had to replace the mag and rack the charging handle.

He's an ak guy. Some types of ak mags can be scarce or prohibitively expensive, whereas you can piss and hit a cheap ar mag that works great.

Yes, 1.25" group at 300 yards is .416 MOA. A Remington 700 has difficulty shooting that accurately.

@@CaylaFenton-Reeder I think he meant Gun Jesus, who tested an AK and an AR in inRange's Mud Test, and the AR ran after the mudtest, while the AK didn't.
@@Shildran He definitely meant the gun jesus mud video. ARs do work better than AKs after full immersion in mud with no cleaning. Neat idea: don't immerse your battle rifle entirely in mud, ever, if you can avoid it.

From a guy who has run an EOtech on an AK-74, the chin weld comment had me crying 😂😂😂😂 also next time only release the bolt by striking the buttstock directly into the ground in a downward motion. Range safety guys love it!

@@tres8003 imagine spent cases getting ejected up into the dust cover on an AK. Seen it. Been there. It's not a magic super weapon and they're subject to failure just like anything else mechanical. If 7.62 was so great, there wouldn't be 5.45. It's easy to hate the AR-15 if you have a budget gun that runs like crap. Get a Noveske, Daniel Defense, Seekins, etc. Then you not only have a great gun, but (unlike an AK) it has a long sight radius, good scope mounting options, and unlimited ways to customize it. I've shot enough AK's. If they were that great, I'd have 3 or 4 by now.
