- Josh O'Connor from The Crown plays the role of Prince Charles excellently - even his Welsh accent is incredible. Here's the full scene of his speech in Wales.

Tedi Millward - The lecturer who taught Welsh to Prince Charles when he was at Aberystwyth University died today. Rest in peace / Cwsg yn dawel.
RIP :(
Rip in peace🙏
Mpizza that means rest in peace in peace
Oh Lord, I hope he didn't catch the COVID
gorffwys mewn heddwch 🙏
It‘s so sad to see Dr. Millward and his wife in the pub, watching intently, shushing people so they pay attention, and even looking proud of Charles when he pronounces “atmosphere” correctly, and then contrasting it with his actual parents, who are sitting there, not knowing what he’s saying and looking uncomfortable that he’s saying anything at all.
And then afterwards Millward tells him that he did good while his mother just tells him he fucked up.
Tech also what could do a color analysis of Mrs. Millward compared with the Queen and Princess Anne. Earlier we see mrs. Bill Ward wearing a lot of pink outfits: The cardigans she wears with the shirt dress with a few pink bits when professor Bill word tells her of his assignment to teach Welsh to Prince Charles, the house dress with the gold and white and pink patterns with the pig pubs that she wears with Prince Charles comes over for dinner, and the pink and white nightie she wears to bed when she discusses with Professor Millward what she's observed about Charles watching their family. I like to compare and contrast that to The Pink suit that the Queen wears when she discusses Charles and her assignment that she was sent out in the hopes that she would forget about Phillip.
And Mrs. Millward is wearing a yellow and blue dress which could be compared to a man who's wearing a blue suit with matching hat and earlier when Charles calls Anne on the phone and she's wearing blue jeans (!) and a blue sweater and later when she's in disguise watching Prince Charles perform.
Not to mention it's his Great Uncle (Mountbatten) who comes to get him ready and wish him luck, not his father. That says a lot. But the ending remarks from the Queen about noone wanting to hear his voice, were really the worst. Simply mean.
Because he did, while as just a man he can have his opinions, as future king he can't show he is more favorable to one region of the Common Wealth than others. His future role demands from him that he must be impartial and not give away personal opinions or thoughts, the Queen knows this and has lived with this frustrations, she may have been harsh but it gave him a dose of reality.
Just a show. Theres a lot thats just dramatised for effect. Majority of this stuff is imagined conversations. The makers or anyone else, have no way of knowing the actual private conversations that took place.
Charles immediately repeated the Welsh portion of his speech in English.

The biggest revelation in the new season. For me Josh O'Connor as Prince Charles he is absolutely breathtaking.
I've seen his butt on screen lol
One of the most powerful and heartbreaking scenes from the whole season. Josh`s acting is amazing, im in love with him!
I love how he has the same tendencies to slurr together a string of words while not using his mouth much at all like how tobias menzies does it in his portrayal of Philip. I don't know if that's just a british accent thing I'm not privy to or if it's more of a personal touch of both actors but it's very fun seeing the similarities. And there is some (probably unintended) symbolism in the fact that both the welsh speaking bit and the theater excercises (2 things Philip is portrayed as looking down upon to a certain degree) make Charles to the complete opposite by opening his mouth all the way while speaking.
You do realize this is script for TV and has to be sensational if not true.
@@gerryfennelly3726 so what? the acting was good nonetheless

"Aberfan", "Moondust" and "Tywysog Cymru" are the jewels in this crown.
Marigold In Blue Moondust was the most boring episode of this season. Bubbikins was much better.
@@ruinnaimperii4686 Bubbikins was entertaining but the inaccuracies are so many that it makes the episode for me, unwatchable. It was also a little too pushy with the inaccuracies. It's a bit similar to Aberfan but the inaccuracies are not littered throughout expect for the ending of that episode.
Now, Moondust was boring because it was slow. It was turning to show the mundane side of life. I think after watching the episode and deeper introspection. It is a great character study for a man like Prince Philip. It also reinforces the lesson given to him by Princess Alice at the end of that episode. Overall, the episode is boring and I don't think I'll watch it again but it succeeded in what it attempted.
Well, you also have to admit that Margaretology is another crown jewel. It is an incredible case study to Princess Margaret and the ending says a thousand words without saying anything.

All the home nations like to bully each other :DDDDDD
Poor Charles, seriously. He was a sensible soul with so much to say, to feel and to Shine.
Crushed by a father with a foolish ideal of manliness, and a characterless mother who thought that actually having a soul was something to despise.
He was a talented artistical Young lad with a brightful mind to show to the World.
Never à touch, never à feeling toward him, never anything from his family.
In this episode the part that most killed me was when he seemed so happy telling the teacher his favorite tongue-twisters and then that idiotic sececionist scandalized himself for it. How horrible it is when you have no one to listen to what you like or do, or learn. It shatters you. That sole moment was à catarsis for him. A moment Where His True self was speaking. But the World around him does not care. Nor did His mother.
The crown should have learned to use the personality of royals as an asset, instead they see it as a burden. Well, they might find in the future that no one wants a characterless wall as a head of state.
At least, he managed to be prince of wales for most of his life. Now, he is the King, finally. Except for Camila, I feel he will be a great King!
CAMILLA (correct spelling) will be a great Queen. She has always made her husband of more than 17 years happy, and she has worked very hard to be a credit to the royal family -- after Diana had a long string of adulterous affairs, three of which were with married men, finally getting herself killed with her SIXTH adulterous lover, when she didn't bother to fasten her seatbelt.
From America, born England. Welsh way back.
I love prince Charles speech.
It's like the original Britons that bailed over the mountains after 1066. They should be proud of their country. And language, no matter how insignificant in comparison to English is worldwide.
Legend says he is still waiting...
I could only feel deeply the mind of Dr Millward a revolution that happens inside the crown and he help to build and in the process save his people... Amazing moment at history...
Everytime I see Charles Dance I always think of Tywin Lannister, I don't think he will ever be anyone but Tywin.

Charles has indicated to a reporter who asked him about it that he will NOT put his son through such an experience. Expect a modest ceremony in Cardiff, acknowledging the capital of Welsh autonomy, and not in Caernarfon Castle, a relic of the subjection of Wales by Edward I.

I took the original speech by Charles and translated it from English to German, a language that I studied in high school and college and tried speaking it out loud. I think Germans would have gotten the basic idea of what I said, after 3 months I could probably nail the speech, but that is a language I somewhat already knew, Charles is speaking a language he had no idea fluently. Honestly, that look on Princess Anne’s face made me think that she understood what he was saying. Like she’d learned Welsh so she would understand his speech.
