Love how the Prime Minister, Leader of the Opposition & dignitaries from abroad all travelled from London on one British Rail train. Not an SUV in sight. Today's leaders could learn from 1969.

The hat of the Queen seems like it has a reminiscent reference to something worn in the 1500 or 1600s. That's the only time women seemed to wear a hat of this design. Wouldn't have been my first pick either, but I'll bet it has a historical meaning behind it.

Announcer said Charles was first to speak Welsh since the English took title. Not true .. Prince Edward studied it at university and spoke it at Caenavron in 1911 at his investiture. In subsequent years, Prince Edward spoke often in Welsh to crowds travelling throughout Wales.
So Prince Edward was first, and certainly had a stronger grasp of the Welsh language than his successor.

The reason they took so long to have his formal investiture, is simply because the Queen wanted him to be old enough to understand the significance of what he was taking on and to behave himself on such a solemn occasion.

All those things the Queen placed on Prince Charles are the Sword, the Ring, the Coronet (similar to a crown), the Rod and that Drape I don't know what's that called but let me know, these all symbolize what Prince Charles will be when he earns the title Prince of Wales.
