As someone who has more than the average knowledge when it comes to leather items, I strongly suggest the Vionentus smart wallets, and let me explain the reason.
Most wallets that claim to be genuine leather are made of bonded leather, and that's why they fall apart after X time (usually under two years). A good leather wallet should be made of full-grain leather. Usually, the Italian leading brands are using this kind of leather quality, but no need to spend that much for a good quality wallet imo

Big issue with some minimalist wallets that needs to be addressed... I have a $200+ Ridge wallet in Forged Carbon fiber and it looks great and is total quality. The issue is cards rubbing against each other over time does destroy them. I've replaced my bank cards and credit cards several times and even my I.D. now because of it.

Aight, I get it, but first of all, having a wallet and a phone in the same pocket defeats the "minimalist" purpose, it would be a really big bulge. You have more pockets, use them. And even if you do have them in the same pocket, metal won't scratch glass if you don't stand on it and swipe it with your full body weight across it.
The second thing, the "thin leather wallet" was empty, the thing is, if you put anything in it, it will create an arch, which will make it thicker than these type of wallets.
Your third reasoning.. RFID blocking is a feature, that's like complaining about a door lock.:
"Why you shouldn't use a modern lock on your door, and should just leave it open.
Reason: You have to take the key out of your pocket to open it.. What a chore."

Though the ridge wallet isnt perfect, a lot of those arguments can be said for both the ridge and leather wallets. Putting the wallet in the same pocket as your phone could be a problem, yeah, but otherwise i dont really see many downsides. The ridge wallet is very thin, even with 11-12 cards in it, and it doesnt do it justice to showcase it next to a thin wallet or cardholder with no cards in it. Though with no cards it is thicker than a normal cardholder, it holds way more cards. And if you were to fill up a normal wallet, it would bend and become uncomortable, so with a lot of cards i prefer the ridge. As to putting any wallet in your back pocket and sitting on it. Dont do that with any wallet, phone etc. As it slightly curves your back and could introduce back pains later in life, ridge or not. And even though a nice leather wallet is about the same price, and holds for a long time, aluminium, titanium, nice plastic or carbon shows almost no wear, and and can be take more of a beating than a nice leather wallet. And lastly the reason you cant use keycards inside the wallet, is because they are RFID-blocking. While this may be an inconveniece using keycards, it is nice to know that credit- or debit cards cant be scanned without us knowing. All in all id say the ridge wallet is quite swell, and im very happy with mine. But nice leather wallets are also great!

A: put it in a different pocket , B : your other wallets my be thinner when empty but as soon as you put stuff in it outs gonna be thicker, and C : your custom Leather wallet ain’t gonna keep people from stealing your credit card information I think having to take a key card out is a fair trade off to keep your credit card information safe

I think the worst thing about the Ridge wallet is that if you want to carry cash it’s exposed for everyone to see the second you pull it out

They have a tray that can go inside the wallet where you can put bills in. So far I have 5 bills in it and fits comfortably in the tray.

The whole point is to not get scammed because scammers can easily take your credit card info from a leather wallet

The thinnest part doesn't really make a difference. Since the more money or stuff you put in your wallet, the thicker it's going to get.
