You don’t need to tighten them monthly. All you need to is is one time, take the screws out, put a little loctite on them, and put them back in. Did this on my Ridge wallet that I got 7 years ago and no screws have been lost.
Good feedback John. lots of commenters have said the same thing. You live and you learn, glad people out there are sharing their tips and helping me out :)

For those who fear the screws coming out. Put some red threadlocker on the threads of the screws (dont need much) And screw back in. They will stay in through vibrations and normal use. Yet you can still remove them with a little extra effort. And I would buy 2 extra cash straps to have on hand just in case they stop making them. The titanium would be even more resistant but as an Electrician I shy away from metals in general for obvious reasons. So thats why I went with the Carbon Fiber one.
Thanks for those details. I regret not bringing this up in this review, since a lot of people have informed me how obvious the loctite would be in this instance. Whoops. Thanks for the info on the carbon fiber and titanium!
I have had mine for a year or so, maybe a bit less. I really like it, the size is unbeatable. Getting cards out of it can be a pain though, particularly the cards in the middle of the stack. I have to push all of the cards out in some cases to get to the middle cards, which is a pain to deal with and putting the cards back is also a pain if you are in line some where checking out.
I live in a country where the paper bills are smaller than the US, so I dont know if this would help or not but I noticed when you were talking about cash not falling off from the money strap the bills actually wiggle left and right, but I'd recommend trying to fold the bills into smaller pieces so that the width of the cash are not wider than the body of the wallet itself
Wanted to know, with the RFID blocking, your scan/door entry card you put in by itself there, would the RFID blocking stop the functionality of that scan/door card from being picked up if you just pull the wallet out and run it across the card reader?
But with loctite on the screws it would make it near impossible to remove them. When you wear out the strap or deicide to attach an accessory like a money clip, you will need to remove screws to do those tasks.
Another review I watched mentioned that they had some trouble with cards with embossed letters and numbers, that other cards could "stick" on them when putting them in the wallet. Would love your thoughts on that! Thanks!
I’ve had cards stick a bit. It’s something you get used too. The band is tight enough that the friction on the cards especially with the numbers does have them stay together. But you get used to fanning them out with your finger

I have a driver’s licence and one bank card in it, which are securely held. NB I also ordered the coin tray but never need it.
I bought 2 of these wallets. One for myself and another for my dad (as a birthday present). Since I live here in New Zealand and I only ordered them a few days ago and also due to delays in air mail due to COVID-19, they haven't arrived yet, but based on the reviews I've been watching, I'm thinking I probably should have gotten the Grip6 wallet instead but I'll wait and see how well the Ridge wallets work for myself.
I have had my Ridge Wallet for over 4 years. I have never had any screws full out or my cards. I got the money clip version. It’s still my favorite wallet ever. I normally carry around 6 to 8 cards, with 8 to 12 bills folded twice. Thanks for your review!
I've been fascinated to find how many cards many people carry by watching these reviews. I'm presuming we're referring to credit cards. I normally only carry two CC and a DL. And one or two rotating use cards for like the library or voting etc.
@@accidental_relevance yes credit cards with 2 ID’s. Can’t go wrong with the ridge wallet. I beat mines up, it goes to work with other edc items in my pocket (keys, alox Victorinox knife and coins). It’s got some surface scratches but nothing deep. The name on the cover plate is still flawless.

My old leather wallet is falling apart after only 3 months. I’m tired of bulky wallets. Time to upgrade. Sure it’s pricy but worth it and will last a very long time
How come we didn't see the excessive wear on the cards? My wallet destroyed all my credit cards and drivers license.. from constant friction.. i got rid of it! Not a good wallet for working man.
About the paint: Aluminum does not hold on to paint well. I have tent spikes made of aluminum and the paint wears off of those just from rubbing into the dirt. I would be interested in seeing how their titanium wallets hold their paint, better or the same.
Yea I think this is more for people that use apple pay or Google pay. I'll stick with my bifold wallet. I don't buy the cheap clearance bifold wallets so I get a pretty good lifespan out of them. So I think I'll stick with my bifold. But great review

I’ve been contemplating getting this wallet for a while. I’m due for a new one, but I’m curious of how it feels in the back pocket? With it being metal, is it annoying to sit on?
Really loved using this wallet. I don't personally use a wallet in my back pocket, not sure this would be the one for you. However, I am currently reviewing a wallets (video coming out soon) from Airo Collective and Wayfinder Carry. They are so thin, I imagine it would be perfect for that.
I definitely recommend the titanium. It’s been a year with mine, compared to your key wear mine is nothing. No nicks just surface scuffs. I also have the money clip and it’s tight as hell, my money isn’t going anywhere. Also no loose screws for me.
Bro I have been doing my fucking home work on the cash strap and money clip for weeks I could not find anything about it not to flex but I carry alot of money for work and the system here scares me have you really never had a problem?
@@behindthen0thing I bought this not long after I had wrote that comment and it's horrible for cash with the cash strap or the clip I now carry my old waller and the ridge because I do love it for my cards though do you know of any good wallets ?

Im thinking of getting one of these wallets but there's a couple of things I don't like bout it, if you wanna take the middle note out you have to take the whole cash out. And same with the cards, if you want the middle card you have to take out all the cards. I guess you could take only the middle card if you try and push the middle card up then take it out but too much hassle. I'm undecided atm.

There are ppl who enjoy Hermès, Gucci, Goyard, Cartier & LV wallets. While those may be nice wallets I’m sure price point isn’t an issue for the ppl who buy & enjoy them. When it comes to me personally the most is ever spend for a wallet is probably two hundred bucks. So I could be in the % of consumer intended for ridge who knows. But what I do know is I love my Ridge wallet. Had the forged carbon for 2+yrs now & it might be time to finally invest in the Titanium Stonewashed or the Forged Ember. Great video thanks for the upload.

I’m not looking to replace my wallet every year. My small black leather wallet has lasted 5 years and still looks brand new. Also more comfortable than sitting on a piece of metal. 🤷♂️
Good review. But I've confirmed now that I don't want a wallet that needs cleaning weekly, mechanical maintenance monthly, and practice to use. My current leather is 15 years old, and I've never had to do anything other than put it in my pocket.
Yeah it seems the carbon fiber version holds up better. There are also some pretty good competitors out there now! Check out my channel for some of those other options.
Good question! In my opinion it depends on how thick you go. If you have ~5 cards and some cash, I hardly notice it in my pocket. However, I typically have my wallet in my front pocket... I wouldn't have this wallet if it it was in my back pocket. Hope this helps!
Great video. I am concerned about how trashed that metal looks after only 1 year. I've had leather wallets I've used for 5+ years that don't look as beat up. I guess that's the trade off for size convenience and RFID protection.
Yeah, I really don't know why this thing is getting so much attention. I've had my 5€ wallet for 5 years and it looks worn, but I'm intending to keep it for another 5 years because it holds my stuff perfectly
Great video.. But I think ill stick to my leather wallet that doesn't need tightening, or replacement straps😂😂😂💯. But I appreciate the honesty review. Most youtube influencers act like its the best thing ever. But they never mention it takes upkeep.👏👏👏👍
I didn’t get the actual ridge wallet itself but I got the cheaper one on amazon, so far I’m liking it but I’m strictly using it as a card/ cash holder, I don’t really trust something like this with my drivers license lol
You could, but in all honesty I only use my wallets in my front pocket, so I haven't tried it. I don't imagine it would fair better than a standard leather wallet in that regard.
I honestly think your wallet broke in really nicely. The weathered look of the fading paint makes it look better. I find that out of the box, Ridge wallets look too futuristic.

what about cards being together.. doesnt that make them fade over time with the pressure of cards being pressed together?
Yeah there is some degree of that, but nothing super noticeable for me vs. using them in card readers etc.
You got it yet?
@@orangefox6029 yep
@@trekkienzl2862 is it good?
@@orangefox6029 Sure is. It's easy to get the front and back cards but slightly harder to get the middle cards.

Thinking about getting a Ridge. How well do cards keep in this? Do they get scratched up? How well do the corners of the cards hold up?
Thats my concern that the cards will get damaged & scratched from normal use
I bought the all in one deal which included the coin case and money clip.
They come with spare screws and elastic band. They put it together for you so you don't have to.
Nice thanks for the info!
I would use some blue locktite on the little screws to keep them from getting loose. Thanks for the video!
Great idea. Many have recommended that! Definitely will be on top of this from now on!
Just got mine in today. This wallet is shockingly tiny. Literally no bigger than a credit card. No reviews are mentioning that. Not that it's a bad feature or anything. It's just so small.
Hope you like it. It is super small, I'll be sure to mention stuff like that in my other videos thanks for the feedback!
Uhhhh…..you can SEE that in the review….no?
I wonder if some blue Locktite would help the screws stay in.
I just got my hands on my own Ridge Wallet. Absolutely no way am I ever going back to the dark ages of PRE-Ridge. I'm so happy with this thing and I'm gonna snag another one as a gift for my brother. These things are fuckin' awesome.
Did you get the strap or the clip?
@@dylan4247 I went in for both of them on my first purchase. I did rock the Cash Strap for a bit since that was the one installed out of the box. It tears up at it's job. Top stuff. But the last few weeks I switched over to my Money Clip. I am definitely team Money Clip for this little beauty.
@@KibaRanger_Kou Yeah was torn on which one to get. Looks like they both pretty much do the same thing anyway. Thanks! 👍
That's a really good point. I will look into that!
I've had the carbon fiber version for over 2 years now and it still looks like new. No signs of wear and tear.

Does the black interior rub off on your cards? My cards are covered in black paint from the inside of the wallet
That is very bizarre. I did have my cards wear a bit over time, but never did I have black paint rub off on it. I would reach out to their warranty team.
I got one about three years ago, hasn't shown a bit of wear. I don't put my keys & money clip in the same pocket. I would buy for a gift.
Good to hear, yeah these things can definitely take a beating!
I just bought the Damascus 107 after coming from beakon outfitters

Carbon fiber ridge wallets with a cash strap is definitely worth getting and the ridge wallets are worth getting so you won’t have your debit cards falling out etc with the cash strap put your $20 bills in it when needed the cash strap is awesome
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the feedback. I've been thinking about trying out a non aluminum version!
So the lifetime warranty doesn’t cover screws and the strap?
Right like the warranty legit doesn’t cover the things that are most common to fail and break over time smh what’s the point of the warranty then
It’s just a marketing gimmick, the piece of aluminium will never fail. I hate marketing bullshit like that, it looks good though
The wallet I have now cost me $6 this leather has a money clip I got it at a flea market in Quartzsite AZ that was about 10 years ago .

Great video can you tell me how many loose Single bill can the cash strapped hold at once
Mary. That's a great question, it's really up to how thick you want your wallet to get. I typically had around 5 but I'm sure it can handle more.
@@GearRules thank you
I’ve been contemplating getting this wallet for a while. I’m due for a new one, but I’m curious of how it feels in the back pocket? With it being metal, is it annoying to sit on?
It's so small and sleek that you'll carry it in your front pockets.
In my opinion I wouldn’t recommend putting it in your back pocket and sitting on it.
What kind of degenerate put their wallet on their back pocket ?
Really loved using this wallet. I don't personally use a wallet in my back pocket, not sure this would be the one for you. However, I am currently reviewing a wallets (video coming out soon) from Airo Collective and Wayfinder Carry. They are so thin, I imagine it would be perfect for that.
Sitting on your wallet is bad for your posture. Carry it in your front pocket. This thing is perfect for that. But accessing credit cards sucks.
@@BEEFSUPREME-722 a lot of money? Might be better to get the strap. The clip is tight and is perfect for less bills.
@@BEEFSUPREME-722 sounds like you need a normal wallet. This thing is trash. Do yourself a favor and spend 300-500 usd on a good wallet
@@behindthen0thing I bought this not long after I had wrote that comment and it's horrible for cash with the cash strap or the clip I now carry my old waller and the ridge because I do love it for my cards though do you know of any good wallets ?
@@BEEFSUPREME-722 it's fairly obvious that this wallet isn't meant for anything more then a few bills.
I bought the Duxtio, virtual identical, and daily use of getting cards out and into the wallet is an exercise in frustration.
How is that going? Popping cards in/ out is definitely a challenge on the ridge too. I've been reviewing some cool wallets that solve this problem. Please subscribe to my channel to see other cool reviews and tutorials!
Check out some of the other wallets I’ve reviewed. Some awesome new ones in the space
Does the Ridge hold a decent amount of cash with the strap? Thank you for the review.
Patrick, I usually hold 3-8 bills no problem. I think it’ll hold a lot, just depends on how much bulk you have.

Great review. Thanks man!
Love the perspective. Some people can use a $10 wallet no problem. Definitely all on what people want to use. I've loved this guy when using it.
Is there any way to attached this to a lanyard?
Unfortunately there isn't a lanyard hole on this wallet
Seems like they would have rounded the edges off to make it slide in and out of the pocket better and make it more comfortable to handle
Yeah really good point. Glad you are critiquing the design. Thanks for the feedback!! Please subscribe to my channel to see other cool reviews and tutorials!
At the 1:40 mark in this video he says "you can send us the ridge ...". This guy works for them.
Haha honest mistake. Considering my 2nd to last video is titled “ridge killer”, I can promise you I don’t work for them
I’m not looking to replace my wallet every year. My small black leather wallet has lasted 5 years and still looks brand new. Also more comfortable than sitting on a piece of metal. 🤷♂️
If you still carry a wallet in the back pocket I'm concerned for you.

Good review. But I've confirmed now that I don't want a wallet that needs cleaning weekly, mechanical maintenance monthly, and practice to use. My current leather is 15 years old, and I've never had to do anything other than put it in my pocket.
Clinton, glad I could help move you one way or another!! That's why I try to be as honest as possible. I love reviews that help me make my decision.
Too bad I looks like crap now. Leather might looks better but painted aluminum not so much. Thanks for the review
Get titanium or carbon fiber
Yeah it seems the carbon fiber version holds up better. There are also some pretty good competitors out there now! Check out my channel for some of those other options.
I'm intrigued by these but wouldn't a piece of metal in your pocket be uncomfortable?
Good question! In my opinion it depends on how thick you go. If you have ~5 cards and some cash, I hardly notice it in my pocket. However, I typically have my wallet in my front pocket... I wouldn't have this wallet if it it was in my back pocket. Hope this helps!
@@GearRules That does help. Really appreciate the review.
I use a lot of cash. How many bills would you say the strap can hold?
I typically hold half a dozen bills, but the band can hold a lot more, just gets bulkier as you have to tri fold it.
Sucks for Canadian bills because when you fold them that tight you can’t easily straighten them out anymore.
Great video. I am concerned about how trashed that metal looks after only 1 year. I've had leather wallets I've used for 5+ years that don't look as beat up. I guess that's the trade off for size convenience and RFID protection.
Especially if you paid 75€+ for this.
It's because he got the aluminum one, they have titanium and Carbon Fiber too that barely cost anymore
@@someotherperson4627 45$ is like way more lol I haven't even payed 20$ for all of my wallets
Yeah, I really don't know why this thing is getting so much attention. I've had my 5€ wallet for 5 years and it looks worn, but I'm intending to keep it for another 5 years because it holds my stuff perfectly
I have had the carbon fiber for over a year and it’s still in excellent condition.
Why would one need to purchase replacement screws or straps if there is a lifetime warranty?
Good point, someone else commented that the warranty covered the screws. good to point out!

You could, but in all honesty I only use my wallets in my front pocket, so I haven't tried it. I don't imagine it would fair better than a standard leather wallet in that regard.
Where you keep your coins?
I honestly think your wallet broke in really nicely. The weathered look of the fading paint makes it look better. I find that out of the box, Ridge wallets look too futuristic.
