In this video we show step by step how we lowered the front end on this RAM 1500 2wd front suspension using a belltech 2/4 inch spring lowering kit. This consists of shorter springs as well as some other hardware to lower the front of a 2009-2018 RAM1500 2wd truck 2 inches or 2".

Your Going to love the handling my truck rides like a car, i tend to forget im driving a truck.. Looks Good Mine was done when purchased with factory lowering kit back in 2002, never seen one as low as mine with 18" wheels with cooper plus 285 65 r18 tires, that's the widest tire that can be put on without anything rubbing, ill take a picture and show it on here if I can

@@BoostedMotorsports I am reading about the rear bump issue and it seems it is to do more with the angle of the track bar. People are saying that correcting the angle made the rear stable... Wonder if you have any input...

Damn that looks good! I definitely wouldn't recommend going any lower for a street driven truck. That's usually when it starts riding like garbage and/or when you have to spend big bucks to correct your ride quality.

Dusten Woodward I ride 5/7 everywhere and it’s fine. Rides better than stock when you c notch, get the right shocks, extenders and quality parts. Don’t be wary of riding low boys

New here ! I want to know if this would fit my ram 2011 quad cab this drop looks dope !
I have the Belltech 2/4 kit With a quad cab Ram1500, On my kit it came with a "Cross member Notch plate" which is meant to add additional travel clearance for the single driveshaft found on the 140" wheelbase Rams. Did you need to install this cross member plate for additional clearance with your driveshaft?

I have a 2014 and would like to go with a 2/4 drop as well. I have 22” wheels and I tow my trailer pretty often 1-3 times a month. With a 2/4 drop will I need to c-notch the frame to allow clearance?

Thanks for the support on the channel I really do appreciate it! Honestly if you are doing it alone for the first time on the floor and not trying to beat the clock I would set aside a half a day. You could pull it off in a few hours if you are quick though for sure.

The Ram look effing badass!!! I have a 2018 Hydro Blue Edition that comes with stock 22" RT wheels. How did you fix the rear tire gapping issue on the rear axle after installing the Belltech kit? The rear axle rotates a little bit forward causing less gap toward the front of the tire and wider gap toward the rear.
THanks Eric! I have illicet "no cut" relocation brackets sitting here on standby to correct that but honestly so far I don't think its needed unless that gap bothers you to look at. It isn't too noticeable in my opinion. I'll update everyone on a video tonight or tmw 👍

The lowering kit you have listed on the Amazon link is for a single cab only. Not for dodge Ram quad cab.

What did you use to grip that back nut on the upper shock? A socket won't fit
You need to hack up a wrench or I've used a mini adjustable before
I bought a 21mm wrench just for this, heated it up right behind the open end and bent it 90 degrees, fits right back there and not a pain anymore.
I have the 3" maxtrac rear drop springs and shocks, I'm wondering if I'll be able to tow my 4000lb impala around for car meets. I usually swap back to stock to tow it but would rather keep the drop kit, any suggestions?
When i had the bell tech kit on my ram i could still tow the max the truck could safely handle. I did put a pallet of concrete in the bed, 3600# and it was bottomed out but then again the truck was not supposed to carry that much weight in the bed. I did however tow a tractor and tandem wheel trailer to complete some of jobs. I would say you can tow a car and be safe with this lowering kit.
On your 3 inch rear drop do you have any wobble or Driveline issues and left it all stock except for 3 inch lowering springs like to know. With a 2 and 3 in I was told you can leave the stock shocks in.
@@joefurrer5428 I installed the 3 inch drop maxtrac shocks with them, stock shocks were stiff to me
@@Joel83M so there is no wobble on speeds over 70 80 90 miles an hour it handles very well ? I'm running 285 55 20s all the way around. I guess better shock in the back .
@@joefurrer5428 right now I have the mcgaughey (if I spelled it right) 2" rear drop springs on my truck with the stock shocks and it rides really good, no wobble at 70-100mph. I still have my 3" drop coils also and planning on putting those back on with the airlift 1000 helper bags for dropped trucks. I have helper bags on there now but it's for stock height, had them on with the 3" coils had me bouncing everywhere lol. I run a lawn business so that's one reason I have the bags for towing but when i would tow my car i would put the stock springs back on. My issue is that I'm trying to avoid swapping back and forth so I'm gonna install my 3" and see if the air lift bags would help reduce the squat when i tow my car. Even at 70-100mph with the 3" no wobble.

What model shocks did you end up going with I bought some QA1 shocks for the rear but they are too short and the original bolts won’t fit through them

Anywhere on the steel frame infront of the control arms. I ended up going right infront of where the control arm bolts to the frame. You have to let the back axle hang for this 👍

No, 09-18 is the same suspension, 2019-now has a different suspension unfortunately

If I would go with a 3in rear drop would I still have the wobble after a hundred miles an hour or is that just for the 4in and lower do you know. Some do a 2in drop in the rear that would not have the wobble at 100 miles an hour and up what's your thoughts on that. I'd like to go with a 3 inch drop keep stock shocks instead of 4 in.
Some trucks actually wobble stock and there really isn't too much info out there. Mine gets a little wobbly at higher speed. Whats odd is this ride height could also be achieved with a heavy load on the truck so I do wonder how stable the truck would be with a heavy trailer load.
@@BoostedMotorsports thanks for your input on eBay there are two 3 + 4 drop coil springs for sale I was just wondering I have a 2 wheel drive regular cab with the trailer towing package on it heavy duty all the way around Hemi 392 gears 8-speed it has the trailer towing package on it so I was wondering about dropping it cuz it sits too high in the back unloaded. Might try the 3in coils in back they're only a hundred bucks on eBay. 😀
You'll need an alignment. Camber is a bitch on our rams though. I wish you luck

@@BoostedMotorsports hey invest in some offset ball joints and some camber bolts for UCA's. The only camber/caster adjustment we have on our trucks is on crossmember to the LCA.

I'm probably going to keep the negative camber just in case I hit a big bump. I know it will wear the tires quicker but with these wheels the front fenders will get destroyed if I 0 out the camber and hit a big bump.
