An absolutely brilliant idea Ray, never would have thought of that in a million years. I for one will definitely try this. I'm pretty sure that you have started something big here. Great video.
I watched a video last week of someone doing this but they started the seeds on wet kitchen roll first then once the seed started to sprout, they put them in the egg cartons, I thought it was an amazing idea and I’m definitely going to try it and fill a raised bed with egg cartons
brill idea, I'm going to try this but starting them in the greenhouse we have oodles of slugs already, I'll sort of chit them in the egg boxes then plant them out before they root down too much
Hi Ray, a brilliant idea and I am hooked! However, what purpose do the holes serve when you seem to have planted the seeds on the undernèath side of the carton?

Could also be used for other roots possibly ?
Indeed maybe parsnips . Worth a try ..
Very interesting.
Indeed
Hello Ray, I have watched the Video again and I can clearly see that you did not sow the seeds on the bottom of the carton. My mistake!
Thanks for watching. The holes where just to break the cardboard early so then roots / carrots can ho through without being blocked. Cheers Ray
