Oops I transplanted my yellow straight neck squash with only two leaves, Will they die or survive in the cold, zone 9 😢🤦🏻♀️👩🌾 well now they have the third leaves so is it ok to leave them on my flower bed? QUESTION: Jeff I have onions growing under lights and they're about 10 inches tall. Chicago Zone 5 and we still have 20's and light snow for the next several days. The soil is workable. Can I move them out? No row covers. Thank You as always. Mike
Definitely trim them down to about 3”… I use the trimmings like chives they are tasty and add beautiful color to the plate on eggs, potatoes, soups and salads

Coconut fibre? Where does one get that? In the event it's grid down, and we revert back to a more localised lifestyle is there a way to make this coconut fibre? Am thinking from a complete self sufficiency angle (as close as) if the supermarkets/garden centres ever run out of stock(supply chain issues etc)

That's a great question Steve. I go with a potting mix, but make sure its quite light. Even mixing in some seeding mix won't hurt.

Hey Mike, still too cold to move them out. If the shoots are unruly, you can trim them down

Peat is naturally slightly acidic yes..I've never heard of clogging issues with it Meta.
