    I agree with the points you are trying to make here. I’ve been working as a PTA for an outpatient clinic for over a year now. The job is very rewarding but can be mentally draining for an introvert. I’m introverted and shy and it took me a while to find out what my strengths are in the field. One of those strengths is the one on one interaction with my patients and being a good listener. It took a lot of failed attempts and awkward moments of small talk to figure out how to overcome my shyness. I still shrugged with it at times but I don’t let it get to me.
    If you’re an introvert, you will need time to yourself. Take the time to be alone for a while to reset your brain a little. It will help you cope with stress. Overthinking is bad and doubting yourself is a waste of time.

    Thank you for this! I'm currently in my 3rd semester of PTA school and I Love it. At times when there's a lot to study, I second guess myself but then I remember my WHY.... and I get back on track. I love the PT community and really enjoy seeing people get better. School is not easy but it's worth it. My advice for anyone second guessing is to volunteer at a rehab facility and talk to other PTs and PTAs... You'll just know by being it that environment.

    So refreshing, Definately needed this encouragement. The test..3rd time..is getting closer and closer. Having the book smarts has never come easy for me so its pretty easy to get frustrated and discouraged. This is my 2nd degree, my first being art, has been a real challenge. Being a tech at the moment lets me how much I care about people, so I just need to be patient with my studying. Or I could always become a zookeeper. Thanks again!

    Definitely have been enjoying your content for some time now, thank you! I'm 3 weeks in to my first clinical. Im greatful to be here, but school has never came easy to me. Now that I'm here, I'm not sure this is for me. I feel like you have to be a robot. The people in the office are nice enough, but I can't even wipe something down without being told, how I'm wrong, in some way. The hours are long and, its hard on my knee. It feels worse than being in school. Im going to keep going as of now. This full time in the o.p. clinic, is not fulfilling. It seems, like you need to be full time, to have the constant experience, and be on your game. Im exhausted, i want to cry like every other day. Not sure how I will fit in anywhere in this field. 🙏🏽☕😻🍕

      lol I can relate haha, The school work can be challenging but getting assistance from teachers, professors, tutors, classmates, etc can all be really helpful. Focusing on the current classes you are taking and trying your best to understand the content using best study practices should help you through the classes. It takes hard work though.

      I still get people talking down on me to this day for “only” being a PTA. It’s something you will have to get used to if you are younger looking. People just don’t know all the hard work it actually takes to become one and they don’t know that it’s actually a good career with a good salary.

    I’m seriously thinking about becoming a PTA when I graduate high school. My little brother is severe special needs and so I already have hands on experience with working with his therapists and at home doing his therapies. All his therapists have agreed that I would do awesome as a PTA, and some even try to convince me to become a PT.
    Do PTAs get to work with pediatrics? Somehow I only really have an interest in helping kids, and I’d love if that is what I could specialize in.
    Can I become a PT easier if I am already a PTA?
    Thank you so much for your videos! I’ve learned more from watching a few of your videos than several months of researching online!

    • @AntonioSanson

    If one is getting out of EMS as a paramedic, due to PTSD, would PTA be a good alternative? I truelly enjoy helping people, which is why I became a paramedic, but due to PTSD I can't handle the chaotic hours and stress associated. What are your thoughts?

    • @AntonioSanson
      @AntonioSanson  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the setting you work in will influence my answer. Because I think you can work as a PTA and enjoy what you do but I think it depends on the setting you work in. like working in a hospital or outpatient clinic or with pediatrics. I'd chose a calm relaxed setting with minimal stress if I were you.

    • @daifukurinn
      @daifukurinn 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Two years later and you probably already found your answer. I'm a veteran with PTSD and went back to school via a PTA program. I agree with Antonio that it depends on the setting. I also want to say it depends on your PTSD, because it didnt work out for me. I tried to gungho through it, and I did graduate and get my license but that was the extent of it. If you can, and haven't already gone to school for it, I'd recommend maybe being a PT aide (if that's a thing in your area) as a low commitment way of testing the water.

    You should not spend your precious time or money trying to become a PTA. The profession is dying faster than the LPN, or at least making 40% more in nursing homes.
