    Oh loved watching this!! My father was in RUR!! My brother was in Royal Irish Rangers.. I can’t wait to phone my brother and see if he knows about this video! He went to Falklands, Belize and his last deployment was Berlin. I’m 76 and up until I was 10 or 11 my family went to lots of places with RUR. I’m proud of my family .Thank you for this very interesting video. Oh the bands!! Great! 😍🥰🥰💕❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧👍👍👍

    Chief instructor for my intake was an RIR. 'Are you smiling at me? - Do you fancy me? WHY NOT? Double away from my parade round!'

    This may sound like a funny question, but can anyone tell me the name of the guy saying Grace before Meals in Irish for the officers around 40 minutes into the documentary?

    Ireland has 4 provinces. Southern Provence is called "Munster". The Western Provence is called "Connaught" the Eastern Provence is called Leinster. And the Northern Provence is called Ulster, the British 2-State Solution to the Irish question was Partition of the 9-County Ulster Provence into 2 states, 3 Counties of West Ulster are in the Free Republic of Ireland and 6--Counties of East Ulster never ceased been a colony.

    Watching from England. Is this the Irishmen who think their English?

    • @Keomc99
      @Keomc99 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      No. It’s an Irish regiment under the British army. Protestants and catholics from North and south serve in it. They don’t claim to be English.

      I’ve seen you comment on multiple posts criticising this regiment and people who serve under the crown, usually leading with “watching from England” like that qualifies you to have a more important voice on the men and women who serve under the crown from anywhere on the island of ireland. Show respect.

      @@Keomc99 @Kyteasahigh is more qualified to comment on foreigners joining HIS countrys' army. It is more like the foreign legion than the british army.

    Nothing Irish about them .

      Why? I served at the time of this film and I estimate we were 90% plus Irish and about 15-20% from ROI
