- The small hitch during the loading screen is the result of cutting out the emulation options menu, went in it to turn off VSync: horrible for gameplay, but needed for cutscenes.
A typical early mission, following the Ace Combat 04 starting template with a bomber defense and base raid missions. Serves its purpose rather well, however, and yet the enemy fighters can actually be challenging in higher difficulties with similar planes if you let them pile up.

They're completely ignoring ACX's existence.

No, but he is from Osea, and he says here he can't wait go "head back home", even though home is at war. They really didn't consider ACX when making AC7 - or any game other than the PS2 trilogy, really.

you can complete the mission instantly by firing a single shockwave missile into the middle of the base using the Fenrir aircraft

I do that these days, it's a great way to put end cards. But this playthrough was over 4 years ago. Man, time flies...
