Chuck man your show should be SOOOO much bigger than it is and please take that as a supreme compliment!! This channel is probably the most underrated music (rock/blues ) on TH-cam no joke . Love the guests you have and your style of presentation. Keep it up man Great stuff 👍
I love it when he talks shit about Bobby Blotzer. They know each other from before RATT even. I think they were roommates at one point way back when. Don has no fucking patience for that dude, haha.
As a local musician in Wisconsin 2001 we were invited to open the show for the "Rock Never Stops" tour with Dokken, Ratt, Warrant, Firehouse, and LA Guns. We drove 4 hours with all our gear only to be told Don Dokken wouldn't allow us to open the show because we weren't a "signed" act and just a local cover band. The venue owner found out and asked us to play inside the bar after the 11pm curfew on the outdoor show. So technically all of those bands OPENED for us that night, we went on at 11:01 and every single person (except Don) in those 5 bands was watching us play for 2 hours straight. Best Night Ever.
Don Dokken didn’t tell the whole truth about being drug free back in the day, as Dokken’s producer Michael Wagener claimed that Don was always loaded to the gills on pharmaceuticals!…😖
He said he wasn’t into coke in the Dokken Heyday. He did admit to being loaded on champagne and red whine and probably mentioned the pills at some point in one of the interviews.
With all do respect there's a lot Don can't play that Mr.Scary can and that's feel. George has his own thing, no one can touch that not even Don himself. Tone Raven
Back in the day George was King. You're telling me that Don can play like him? No. Never. Not even Jon Levin can match George's playing. Maybe on the first European album, possibly, but that's as far as it will go. Maybe using the tape they can fix it, that's been done before. But picking up the guitar and playing what George did? Nope, no way.
George's guitar playing is not all that. He is a slave to pedals, distortion, and delay and said so when he spoke at the school. Lots of guys are far more smooth than he, and dont look like they are betting electrocuted when they play. He's never improved either.
@@Patriot-x8y Slave to pedals - Yes. I don't know why so many guitar players use them and they have to do a tap dance when you want to change sounds. MIDI rack effects are better and far more professional, one stomp changes everything at once. He's never improved - Yes. Back then he said he wanted to play his balls off and he did. Now he's a shell of what he once was and lost the fire he once had. One of the biggest let downs in guitar history. I would also venture to say that now he has a hit-to-song-ratio of less than 10% and has nothing prepared in the studio which his music sounds like crap. But, back in the day, he was intense, outperformed everyone and had a style unmatched. The solos from song to song were just incredible, timeless. Jon Levin has to cheat to play some of his solos. His intensity lasted to probably the mid-90s.

Anybody know if don kept his word and moved to France after the election?

Don thinks things like Oxy and Valium aren't "doing drugs".

Assuming he doesn't have to tell the truth about himself, sure.
