thanks for the video. May I ask if in text citations are included in the word count? If so, is there another way reference website articles without affecting word count?

Thank you for this. but i do have a quick question: What is the difference between the title of a webpage and the name of a website?

So I have come across a page that has the authors last name but not his first.
Do i just do his last name with no initial?

When using a quotation from a website, the title of of the page is not necessary anymore.....just the para # is sufficient?

How would I type it after the sentence I quoted it on? The short version?

It would be helpful to note the spacing. The citation at :18 doesn't seem to be right. Should it say "Mayo Clinic staff" instead of "Mayo Clinic" since that is what the website stated? Isn't this citation missing the name of the website? This is why I hate citation. Everyone says this is a great video, my teacher uses the link but I'm 18 seconds in and I'm already confused because things aren't matching up but no one else seems to notice. :(

Thanks for your question, Sarah. The citation used at 0:18 is an example of a website with no named author that is outlined later in the video at 1:30.
You are right that the original article is credited to “Mayo Clinic Staff,” but as there is no specific person’s name used, then the APA manual requires the organization, company name, or website name be used instead.

Thanks for your comment about the lack of information on where spaces are needed. We are always trying to find the tricky balance between being brief and giving as much helpful information as possible in our videos. We will be sure to consider your feedback when we make future videos.

As a guideline, please note that there is always a single space needed after a period wherever they appear in a citation (unless it is part of a URL or DOI). We hope this helps.

Why can't I just right the paper? This is too much!
