    Thanks for the instructions. I do not think you have to have a Publisher. You can allocate all 200% to Writer(s) and you should get all the royalties from that work. Or am I wrong?

    • @igobyneq
      @igobyneq  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tomin Tomovic without a publisher Spotify applemusic and so many other streaming platforms will NOT pay you

    • @TominTomovic
      @TominTomovic 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@igobyneq I don't think this is correct. If we talk about the composer side of the work, they should pay to the BMI the full royalties disregarding that you have or do not have a publisher. Of course i you want to collect ALL the types of royalties (what is a different story) you need to register with music publishing administration (e.g. Songtrust) ADDITIONALLY and they will collect the rest of the royalties for you (including publisher's share). The recording side of those streaming royalties ("master") you get via distribution companies or labels, but I guess this is clear for everyone.

    if im registering a beat for a spotify release..( Beat Only) ... under publishers & writers section for any artists i select No, are there any recordings ? is it No or Yes? and was this created for a music library ?would that be No or Yes? i was thinking making just the beat on fl studio that would mean no recordings... and for a music library i wasn't sure because its for spotify and streaming services to generate royalty pay.
    also when submitting from distrokid to spotify i have to select an artist name... so then would i select yes for" Any Artists"?

      You have to register the files tho.. that's what she was saying with the isrp but she didn't really elaborate on it at all but yea u need to register the file.. once U get an isrp registration code then it'll be like 100,000 (very similar) codes specially for u and if u go into extracting the file it will either have an isrp already encrypted in it or you will need to manually do it yourself which shouldn't take longer than 5 mins.. just apply one of the many codes to a particular file.. there should be videos that go in depth how to do so

    • @DJPain1
      @DJPain1 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      No, don't do it. It's a waste of time.
      Unless the beat, as is, without vocals, is going to be played on radio, spotify, television, etc, then you don't need to register the beat because the beat won't generate any royalties. ASCAP/BMI doesn't protect/copyright your beats, doesn't automatically detect when your beats are used by artists, etc. There's no harm in registering a beat, but there's really no benefit either, so it's wasted time, especially if you are making 5-20 beats a week.
      If you produce a beat that becomes a song that ends up getting added to spotify and ends up getting radio play/etc, then you will register the song with its new title and performer information to collect your money.
      If your beats are being licensed to TV and Film as instrumentals, then you would be added to a cue sheet by a music supervisor through one of these PRO's.
      Hope this clears up any confusion.
