- A month after the Income Tax Department froze its bank accounts over non-payment of dues the Congress party cried foul. The party’s ex president Rahul Gandhi claimed that the Congress is left with no money to run its election machinery.
Party’s matriarch Sonia Gandhi, at her first press conference since 2020, slammed the NDA government, accusing it of trying to freeze democracy and edge out the Opposition. The timing of the move by the Income Tax Department and fresh notices to Congress for its tax obligations from 30 years ago, does raise suspicion. But the history of the case and the recent Delhi High Court order on 13th March indicate that the Congress may not be an innocent victim of a heavy handed government targeting the opposition and it needs to clean up its tax duties. In a very significant comment the Delhi Hight Court refused to provide relief to the Congress party which had sought a stay on the tax department’s action against it. In its order the learned court said, “The problems that beset the petitioner today are thus, and to a large extent, of its own making. The ITAT, in our considered opinion, was consequently justified in rejecting the allegation of the action being either motivated or actuated by mala fides.” Jist News puts in perspective the Congress’ charge.

Rahul Gandhi said " Court is not saying anything". Few days ago , court has given decision on Electoral Bonds. Congress party's celebration was such as if Congress got win in the election. But now he is questioning the court. This is what called "Selective politics". Questioning the judiciary is easy.
Same thing with EVM. If they win there is no complain about EVM but if they lose there is a problem!

Generation has changed. Today the youth of the country is observing the politics very seriously. Bharat needs the young congress that we used to see in 2014. Rahul Gandhi must try to bring back the Leaders like Jyotiraditya Scindia, Jitin Prasad, Shergill, RPN singh and others back into the Congress. For me opposition is not India Alliance. I only want Congress to be the most powerful as an opposition party. Regional parties can not run the National issues. At the Loksabha level, there is only two party that is congress and BJP. Only two things congress needs to do, total ban on appeasement politics and NSUI should be strengthened. Until and unless the wheels are not good, we can not expect the Vehicle to run smooth.

...all said and done.. The best way out is to formulate a system that filing income tax returns is no longer required.
Corruption..middle men..Chartered Accountants..Tribunals..Arbitrators and so many more can rest in peace. This may take some time, but surely it will help curbing huge corruption...transaction tax could be one way out.
