You probably can put the CDROM faceplate onto a different model drive. Many other Lite-On drives will probably work perfectly. Worst case a bit of hot glue can help you use a drive with slightly different faceplate mounts.
Always thought it was weird how so many optical drives end up with that same rust pattern. I’ve got at least three that have rust in the same spots. I guess the coating gets rubbed off when they’re being installed?
@@RetroTechChris Looks like DOSCDROAST was released around 2002-2003, so late to the game and it is well beyond the DOS era. I got Nero Burning ROM 5 bundled with the drive in the same year.
Is there a way to buy vintage computers without a fakebook account since I will never use anything from the zuck? I live in a rural area where finding vintage stuff is hard and the nearest recycler is an hour and a half away. Ebay pricing is getting ridiculous and I rarely find anything on craigslist.
Great video! I am glad everything survived shipping.
Thank you! Everything got here nice and fast too. Thanks again!
The story of John Story continues to grow.

That could very well be! Hadn't really thought about that before.. it is kind of peculiar, isn't it? Thanks for watching!
Never knew we can burn CD with DOS. I had a Samsung SW-240B 40x12x40 CD-RW drive on my Pentium-MMX back then in 2002
Me neither! I had to do some research for this one!!

that adddev and deldev apps are interesting. do they work with other .sys drivers?
I believe they do!
No buffer underrun issues?
I didn't write a large ISO, but I presume that could be an issue. The program is dedicated in the foreground though!
