It’s impossible to know if Ethan would have bought his own gun, but James clearly broke the law in buying a gun for an underage person. The murdered children are of consequence, their significance should not be ignored.

wow. this case gets deeper. I thought he bought the gun for himself with the oversight of his son like at a shooting range or hunting. I didn't know they personally bought him a gun and after Ethan telling them he heard voices and saw demons that is scary enough. this is a case when Ethan can literally say the devil made me do it! he played with a ouijua game too. No wonder his mind was crazy! I honestly believe and there will be proof that ethan is doing much better in prison than he was at home. His parents really did not care about his well being until the spot light was put on them.

Just looking at the kid I can see he's not playing with a full deck.

He knew enough about guns to know the 2 22 guns were not sufficient to pull off a school shooting. So whether he got the sig from home or not he was determined to shoot the school. If his parents seized the gun or refused to buy the gun he’d of took $200 to the street and bought the same thing or a better one and proceeded to shoot up the school. He was determined. Nothing was going to stop him unless he was incarcerated permanently before the shooting. On say the possession of the gun. It was practically a hopeless case

Yeah, I mean, why even make murder illegal since some people will do it anyways?

Do Michigan courts have different rules on speaking objections (or any rules at all), or does this judge just not have good control over her court room? Both crumbley trials were kind of s*** shows.

parents should NOT be on trial or charged with these things, and I hope both SUE in court AND legally go after the art gallery that turned them in! Business can be legally protested against through various means, and other legal measures. That is all.

It was'nt the art gallery owner that turned them in, it was another business owner in the bldg., until a child is 18, the parents are absolutely 100% responsible for their child. ...do your research...the gallery owner is the one that let them hide out there. Both these parents were neglectful in properly monitoring and acting on getting their child the help he begged them for, they were both caught up in their own lives, including excessive drinking and having affairs

Parents are responsible for their child while child lives at home.

Why would a parent buy a gun for a child that seems to have emotional mental health problems. Parents should be sent to prison!!

@sharonhumphrey1452 every teenager is like that lol you can't hold parents responsible. The place they lived in everyone had guys. They had guns for months in the house with that kid and nothing happened. That's not the first gun they used. If parents were to blame then every gang member parents should be in jail...right?? Because these parents are usually crackhead that totally neglect their kids and their kids go to gangs for family. So your saying they should go seek out where gang member who killed someone's parents and put them in jail. That's what people are saying by voting guilty on these parents. It sets a new standard that just isn't practical.
