That’s a very good question. I think the answer as a believer in Christ a very simple one. The Democratic Party supports abortion, as a follower of Jesus, I cannot support that which God hates. I am shocked and dismayed that there have been several people in the Democratic Party that believes that God supports this in scripture, based on Numbers 6 because of the bitter waters, 1- nothing indicated pregnancy. 2 it was in regard to a woman’s unfaithfulness to her husband. 3 the bitter waters that brought a curse was that her thigh would shrivel up, she would be a cursed among her people and she would be barren, vs 28 states that if the woman is innocent that she will be able to bare children. Has absolutely nothing to do with abortion.
On the issue of free open borders- America has many enemies, we cannot take a stance on this to just let everyone in, not to mention the virus, and the economic impact that would have on our country and it’s people, aside from the obvious safety issues we would have from that decision. Think of the impact.
De-Funding the Police- need I say more on that with the previous issues mentioned? That’s got to be the absolutely worst idea I’ve ever heard. Not to be mean spirited, but who ever came up with that idea needs a literal brain transplant, look at the violence in the streets now... and you want free open borders? Think about this for a moment.
They want to raise taxes...now? In the midst of the impact from COVID-19? Remember the taxes and how that went in Jesus’s day?
Then there is this insanity of evil that they want to change some perversion of pedophiles to a sexual orientation?! More confusion? We already have a pandemic of sexual confusion as to a person’s gender.
Again, need I say more? Oppression? Depression? Recession? Confusion? Perversion?Shall I continue?
Just on these issues alone, knowing these things that the Democratic Party are standing on, think of the implications? Not to mention the Democratic Party is now FAR up on the Socialistic agenda! It would destroy our nation, our economy, and our neighbor. So... how would Jesus vote on these? Personally, my ticket will be a straight Red, I must vote God’s Will, not man’s, I must choose life for the unborn and the children that God created for a Devine Purpose and I have to vote my conscience for my family, my nation, my people and my neighbor.
That’s where I stand.
What does the Republican Party stand for?????? This election cycle they do not even have a platform!! Corruption, lying constantly, putting asylum seekers in jails, separating families- with no thought or provision for reuniting them, I will NEVER vote for Trump and probably never vote Republican again. If churches would take the precautions Walmart does in this Pandemic they've got the green light in most places. Many churches are unwilling to take those precautions! Super- spreader events do happen as a result. That is far from loving ones neighbor(or ones self).
I for one will not support the evil Donald. God knows my heart, I've prayed about it- and a lot at that.
Believer in Jesus you’re right... God does KNOW your heart, your thoughts and intentions of your heart and mind. We will ALL stand before The Judgement Bar of Christ and give an accounting for EVERY Thought, Word spoken and every Deed done while in the body. Has not God said in His Word,“ do not be fooled, God will not be mocked, whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap”. We all have a day of Reckoning coming, including you and me, it should make us more attentive and cautious of how we treat each other. Remember, there are always tares among the wheat, wolves among the sheep and we must learn to discern between the clean and unclean, The Holy from the unholy or be deceived and eaten. There are no perfect people on either side of the fence, however, we have to look on BOTH SIDES of said fence and observe, take notice of things there, what does it look like? Sound like? Smell like? Taste like? I have voted both parties before and regretted it, like all mistakes in life, some are more painful and costly than others. We have to discern the times we live in and the people who choose to lead us as a nation is very very important.

Two years ago, I followed a blogger whose name I won’t mention. She wrote candidly on the grieving process of losing her best friend, her spiritual journey and all the lessons she’d picked up on the way and sometimes quoted scriptures and theologians like C S Lewis. I was much in awe of her because she seemed to write in such a humble and down to earth manner. But then last year she wrote an article sympathetical to BlackLives Matter where she said she was ashamed of her inherent racism and white, Southern, evangelical upbringing, likened the migration of black families from southern to northern states in the 1920’s to the Holocaust and said “we must face ourselves white people.” Naturally I was shattered because I thought better of her than that. I wrote a long respectful but firm letter saying she was missing the bigger picture and outlined all the things BLM is for that are highly against God’s ways with sources to read. She never replied but the last I saw of her were Facebook posts where she seemed ecstatic that Kamala Harris became the first woman Vice President and said “Amen brother” to a speech by Van Jones. “Goodbye so-and-so.” I said to the computer “You’re flaky, you’re out there. We’re done.”. Jesus couldn’t have said it better in Matthew 22:24.

Just because you’re a Republican doesn’t mean you get automatic entrance into the kingdom of God . And me being a Democrat doesn’t mean that God will turn me away. I said that specific statement to say that too often I’m seeing Republicans say “the left did this” “the left did that” without looking at issues within. Everybody is saying “the right is right” and “all Republicans are God fearing people” But when I bring up racism and bigotry, only TWO of the sins that are running rampant in the Republican Party, (which is VERY prevalent where I live ) people want to say “well all Republicans are not like that” well . not all democrats believe in same sex marriage... not all democrats believe in abortion. The Republican Party might not OPENLY support racism but I’ve been with my own eyes and from countless media outlets how some Republicans talk terribly about Black people and Hispanics and Latinx community and people who are on welfare, it disgusts me. Yet in the same breath they call themselves God fearing people but they tear down people who they think are less than them. These are the people I was referring to. And when I said spirit of division, I did not say that because we have different views. I said that because now some Republican believers are alienating their Democratic brothers and sisters in Christ because of their party affiliation, and making them feel as if they can’t love Jesus with all of their heart and be affiliated with the Democratic Party, which is a spirit of division. Not expressing the freedom as an American. So like I said before, politics does not belong in the church. It only causes confusion and takes away from the ENTIRE reason we are here as Children of God, which is to win souls for His kingdom and to Glorify His name. Being a Republican doesn’t grant you automatic entrance into heaven, nor does being a Democrat make me less worthy of entering into the gates of heaven. Regardless of my party affiliation, I vote according to the Word of God and the Heart of Jesus.
