You seriously know your craft and you have an awesome presence. I have never had a hair dresser or stylist "educate" me on anything :-( And when I try to ask questions and learn, they always find a way to downgrade what they know or what they are doing, and then move onto something else. In addition to that, I've never had a stylist turn me to face the mirror, and when I ask, it's always some kind of excuse as to why they can't do it, blah, blah, blah...You rock my friend, all the blessings to you! And you are right, Dan is quite an eye catcher :-) All the best to the both of you :-)
I've watched 5 video looking for a texture tutorial and you knocked it out the park cant wait ri try it all my clients starting to leave alot of length on top so this will bring out a bald skin fade even more
Agreed, I kept searching for "how to thin hair" or "men's layered cut" but it's called "texturing" lmao, but watched several videos and They don't know show how to handle the scissors correctly ... this video nailed it
Finally a decent video for fine hair. My hair is extremely annoying, I can never seem to style it the way I want. But i'm going to try this and see how it goes!
Darn I just discovered today the Wool Shake is discontinued when I tried to buy some again. Any suggestions as to what product I should use that gives similar results??
Looks great. Question: How would you maintain a haircut like this? In other words, can you use the same technique every haircut (e.g. every 3 weeks)? Or do you have to avoid cutting deep valleys every other haircut?
Whoo -hoo! Watched this twice last night and learned so much! Headed to my BR sink with the good mirrors and my scrawny unevenly growing-in pixie and decent scissors. Your very irregular texturizing is genius. Patent it. I’ve never seen or read about those specifics before! I’ve got good thinning shears and do an uncoordinated tip cut but with both I just end up with thinner, prison-cut hair. NOT TONIGHT! (This morning). (Even despite amateurishly different before status.)! Also pretended to copy y
Oh, how I wish I could find someone who would cut my hair this way. The stylist I used for over 30 years used this technique on my short, fine hair and it always looked amazing. She passed away unfortunately, and while I've gotten "decent" cuts since, they don't come close her genius. Can anyone tell me how I can find a stylist that uses this technique?
this was a great find, very nice video. if that wool shake stuff is now discontinued did they make a replacement product or is there something comparable to use instead?
Awesome video! Thanks! I've been having problems finding a stylist or barber that can cut my sons hair where it isn't left looking like the hairstyles from the movie dumb & dumber. His hairs so fine that the texture always blends together. I've had to learn to do his hair myself to avoid this & it always has to be shorter than I'd like. I'm going to give this a try today. :) So appreciative for this tip!!
Keeping watching here Roxana... we are going to continue to produce men's videos. The biggest thing is to keep doing it! It's a different animal than longer women's hair and the way I learned to be better was too increase the quantity of men's hair that I cut.
Andrew Carruthers please Help...showing this video to my hairdresser, I'm told by my hairdresser that creating such large peaks and troughs will leave my scalp looking patchy. Problem is, not doing it this way and creating small variation in length it's hard to see the definition right?
Hi Michelle... sorry for the delay in response. I don't check the TH-cam comments nearly enough! This works good for that texture as well... it's best not to create too many small holes (like a thinning scissor) in frizzy hair so big peaks and valleys are the way to go!
You've got to do exactly the same as here. Cut big deep texture into it. Thick coarse hair, when thinned, will go wirey and flyway like crazy. It's the hardest hair to actually cut because what seems to suit in the chair, if not done correctly, will be gone in a matter of hours.
I know! It's so sad :-( It was one of our favorite products and it was discontinued shortly after we filmed this video. Our new favorite for that kind of texture is Redken Fashion Waves 07 www.redken.com/products/styling/texturize/fashion-waves-07-sea-salt-spray
Curly fine hair will react very well to this type of texture. You just need to make sure you leave enough density at your "peaks" so that the ends have friends to gather together.
Bryantoxic Mutant Crew We used Redken Wool Shake (now discontinued) prior to the blow dry and finished with Redken Rough Paste 12. Cutting tools were the Sam Villa Short Cutting Comb and Sam Villa Signature Series 6.25" Wet Cutting Shear.
Problem is, there is no one with the experience close to me that could even come close to this. Most cut hair the way they were taught, not how you want it to be. They look at you with puzzlement when you want to discuss anything. And women cutting mens hair, what a joke. They dont have a clue when you have fine thinning hair
Haircut didnt do as much as the products and blow dry in the end, this hairdresser needs to consider a better haircut for himself, maybe a short haircut where he push his hair forward to disguise the receding area? Hm

This was excellent !!! I would live to see more male styling and cutting videos !
Never used these products when they weren’t discontinued; now I think it’s too late. Great to get an update
Holy shit! That was an amazing transformation. I was genuinely amazed.

And how exactly are you gonna do that??? Take your ipad in to your barber?
+7Earthsky it's for your hairdresser or barber to watch. Ask for a short heavy textured haircut when in the shop.
Do it at home
@@gca-automotive at home it seems looks scary .
Wow, I've been looking for a video like this forever! I hate my hair lol
i liked your technique very much and thanx for educating about it.

Where did you do it?

Please make a video on types of brushes and thier use
We have many videos on the brushes and their uses! Check out our extensive video library!
So we just need to take this video in to our hair dressers and barbers..or cut our own hair while we're watching it.

7Earthsky yeah this guy seems better than the barbers I’ve had
This video is to educate barbers so yeah
Beautiful peaks and valleys
this was a great find, very nice video. if that wool shake stuff is now discontinued did they make a replacement product or is there something comparable to use instead?
That turned out extremely nice.
Fantastic video 😍
That was incredible! Such a difference!
Awesome video
The way you explained everything made sense to me, makes it easy to practice the technique
How would (and should) we go about this for a short women's haircut for someone with a wide forehead?
That looks so good! Love it!
Wow he looked great

That's actually a good tutorial
Love the texture the wool shake gave to this look ! What product could I use for the same results since this product has been discontinued?
I use sea sprays a lot for the same effect... Redken is releasing a new one soon
that is freaking awesome haircut!
AWESOME
You are amazing...any suggestion on how I can Learn more about men's haircut...I'm a disaster!!!

What can I replace the wool shake with?
BRAVO!! AC and SV keep them coming
Aws tips!!! Thanks bunches
What about really thick, kinda frizzy, wavy hair? I had a client keep asking for more a more texture and after a few times he quit coming to me.
