Really appreciate you mentioning Ren and bringing attention to it. Breaks my heart that he is going through this again. We can’t help him fight his sickness but we can help push his music and grow the community effectively rising the tide and lifting Ren up with the music like he has done for so many.
😘I adore your Ren reactions! Sooo much fun to experience Ren with you both. I’ve been chronically ill for twenty years (I’m 52). Autoimmune sparked by extensive toxic mold exposure. The pain is excruciating. I get to leave the house about 5-8 times a year… it’s an incredibly lonely existence. I cling to Ren; he keeps me going. He’s my beautiful bestie that I will never get to meet or speak with. About a month ago, I started noticing little things with him that bothered me. His latest news didn’t surprise me, but it did break my heart. I really miss his regular interactions with us. I’d give my life for him to be healthy. Ren helps so many people trapped in the dark. He has a purpose. So do you. Thanks🥹❤️✌️
Girls, You FLOORED me.............. The sad part is Ren got NOTHING other than anti-psychotic medications. It's all in your head Ren, that's what they told him. Seven years of damage is inhumane before he went to Belgium and got a real diagnosis. His brain was melting. I can tell you that Ren will probably face challenges for the rest of his life.
Btw Ren is going back to Canada in October due to his lyme disease coming back. He is gonna have ro re do the treatment
Yes but no. His Bartonella came back which is a side effect of Lyme. He's just redoing his antibiotic treatment he did last winter that only lasted like 3 months, not his full year and a half treatment.
@@JonNo86 I believe it's the other way around: the Bartonella bacteria are what causes Lyme, the disease.
Just like caughing won't give you a virus infection, it''s a virus that causes an infection that'll evtl. makes you cough.
There are different flavours of Bartonella bacteria in animals to pick from like lice, cats and ticks. They fuck up the immune system w/o noticing for months and if it's fucked up, Bartonella attacks it even more. He needs to get rid of these tiny buggers.

Ren is 6'1" and he returns to Canada later this month (October). Cameraman here is Kai, who played bass on Back On 74 and who played Kujo in Beatdown video. AND you guys are great, don't ever change 🙂
If you want to hear a song that he did write and record at the height of his illness, listen to Pocket Full of Pain. It's my personal favorite because you can really hear him dreaming of a hopeful future.

Early young Ren ' crutch ' is amazing.
That IS the same jacket from the Tale of Jenny, it's a Nebraska jacket. He wore a Dallas Cowboys Jacket in Screech. He does love those track suits, they are comfy too!

I’ve seen the BTS on his Patreon and he defo prepares how he wants it to go rather than on the fly but we only see snippets so I don’t know if in moments he changes it to what he’s feeling. Seeing busking videos I imagine he does.

Ren is still positive for the bacterium that is a result of the Lyme Disease. Seems as if he will travel back to Canada for additional treatment. We all love him and wish him the best. Great reaction, ladies, as always you deliver.
He said he was going back to Canada in late October as this is the earliest the clinic can fit him in. In the meantime he has antibiotics which he can take in the UK. He is having to duck out of other work he had hoped to do e.g. appearing with Knox Hill in Brighton to sing their new collab "Fentinyl"
The stem cell doctor actually read his blog which is how and why he was offered the free stem cell treatment. He's headed back mid October for about 8 months.
I have a feeling that a lot of people are confused about the timeline for Ren's sickness and mistake his current treatment with the (much bigger) earlier sickness depicted in Troubles.
He got the tick bite when he was around 19/20, and this song tells the story about the years following this (2010-2017). Most of this time he was misdiagnosed, but he finally got the Lyme Disease diagnosis and later the stem cell treatment and that fixed the main infection and this is was he is talking about in the song.
After this he still had a lot of other issues caused by the infection over several years, like food intolerance, pain and fatigue, caused by autoimmunity, brain damage and co-infections. This is what he has ben struggling with since then and is what he is now getting treatment for in Canada.

I think if you're going to react to The Tales of Jenny and Screech Live for your anniversary, I see that and RAISE YOU "The Tales of Jenny and Screech Live in Brighton" Ren performed the trilogy in complete live in front of a decent sized CROWD I Brighton on the street. It was amazing here is the video link for it. It was even shot in 360 so if you happen to watch it on a mobile you can scan around the crowd and everything. Very immersive.

It's him simply busking along and jamming a bunch of songs that eventually became bangers when he released an official video.

I have been battling with my own serious health issues and I've heard Death knock a couple of times, but so far I have been able to avoid him. Sadly my issues have also progressed into new issues and I can feel my body slowly but surely giving way...

I think Lyme diesease is relatively easy to cure, if diagnosed quickly? Problem is it's very rare, quite hard to spot and then it becomes really insidious and everything becomes a massive mess? Sorry, I should know and remember your names by now, but always been useless with names? So "Fan Girl 1" you gotta take your cuz way back? Stuff like Crutch? Correct. Lyme Disease can be cured if caught within a couple months, but if not, it leads to a lifetime of issues of various illnesses and ailments, even death or permanent disability. It's worse than Lupus, worse than Multiple Sclerosis, almost worse than Cancer. It is an insidious, vicious, horrible disease that has infinitely more serious consequences that NEEDS to be given significantly more resources for research and development of treatments. Public education is paramount, teaching the importance of anti-tick practices and pushing for medical education to require lyme disease identification as part of both general medicine AND for specialists.

Not necessarily that they don't take it seriously, but for whatever reason, they easily overlook it when they are diagnosing you. Maybe it has something to do with where you live also, because it may not be common in some places, so they don't even test for it.
Not sure if you know this, but Ren is planning to release a redux version of the tales. Sounds like the perfect opportunity for redemption.

I dont think this is the same jacket as jenny and screech, however, it **might** be the one he wore in power, or at least somewhat similar. Ren has a bit of a jacket obsession 😂 EDIT: nope, i just checked, it is not the one in power but it looks similar.
I'm a straight man and I still have a crush on him! lol
While it looks effortless, the music is definitely not on the fly. What he's playing is extremely technical and what he's doing has to be executed with a crap ton of precision. He's really (really really) good at playing guitar but because of the complexity of what he's playing, there's so much time and energy invested in how every single chord progression lines up with each verse. What he is a master of, almost in a class of his own really, is understanding rhythm and syncopation. He's not just strumming standard chords, he's finger picking all over the fretboard and then changing up time signatures every 15 seconds.
It's so much more impressive actually when you know the mechanics of what he's doing in the performance... live.
