I got a 2018 in December. It has less than 7k miles on it and has been back twice for dropping to limp mode from a knock sensor code. That's once before they changed the sensor and once after. The car can't handle rpm load when passing or merging onto the highway. Both times the car dropped to 40mph almost immediately, almost causing pileups. DO NOT BUY A THETA II EQUIPED HYUNDAI OR KIA.

The HUD on the Hyundai. Santa Fe is nice IMO. It’s super helpful for cars with automatic radar cruise control/lane keeping - so you don’t have to look down to know if your car is on full auto or if it doesn’t recognize the lane borders.

I test drove this yesterday. It's very nice inside. I love the way the flat panels on the dash looks as well as the wide flatscreen. Also love how dash does it's animation think when you go into turbo mode.
Sure the power isn't like the 2023 Kona N, but i'm not looking into the Kona for power. It's plenty powerful enough to get me by. I just need a comfortable, reliable SUV and this car seems to deliver.

This was a great direction for the Kona- inside and out. Although the specs are very similar now between the Kona and Seltos, the Kona is still less roomy than the Seltos. In addition to that, the Seltos has much more cargo area. All things considered, it still makes more sense to go for the KIA Seltos over the Hyundai Kona.

If you haven't already, swap your tires and you'll be the happiest ever. My OEM P7's lasted me legit 21k km before they were all bald and I had done 3 rotations at that time to ensure equal wear. Get DWS 06+'s and never look back, best tires ever. (even works in winter) I'm going to tune mine to N75 stage 2, these internals are quite robust so all you need are spark plugs and a performance filter (K&N sells a drop in for our vehicle)

I'm not sure I really understand the the issue is with the shifter. It seems fairly logical that you'd twist it with your thumb going forwards to go into drive. Once you've got that figured out, it's hard to go wrong with it. A car with flappy paddles for gears doesn't need anything other than P-R-D-N, so having a separate action for each (except Neutral, which you hardly ever need) makes sense.
I'm just basing this on my experience with the Mercedes shifter stalk, which is much quicker and easier to use than any other I've tried. The only disadvantage of the Merc system is that they have to cram the wiper controls onto the indicator stalk. It seems like the Hyundai approach solves that problem.

I've had no issues with the shifter. Even if you have a hard time remembering the motions there's two different audio cues for Reverse and Drive and the gear selection shows up on the instrument panel.

Wait how did you manage to get the N Line in Mirage Green?!

  • @HiiImChris

I want 1 so frekkin BAD. I specifically need that highlighter green yellow color, its so obnoxious. I would get the SEL or limited tho, not a fan of the look of N line or the electric 1. The black cladding at the bottom imo looks way better on sel version. I also like the 2023 version w with that bright blue color, it looks so funky and weird. Ive always been a sucker for odd ball cars

I think you need to look into a new prescription, Jakub. This Kona is worse looking than the decent looking last gen Kona. I’m with Yuri on this one.
