Great tutorial video for a newbie such as myself. Thank you for taking the time to get us started down the right path. Also for keeping everything in layman’s terms. I will definitely be watching this video multiple times. Lot of helpful information. Thank you Matt. God bless Sir.
I really appreciate this tutorial! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. By the way, your videos make my family very happy (my daughter likes to help me pick what to make from your channel). Keep up the wonderful content, and have THE BEST Sunday! God bless ❤🎉
Two points l would like to make. I about sold my griddle. I’ve never been a propane guy and at age 57, l was totally ignorant of propane tanks. I couldn’t get my griddle to 300° for anything. A video on how to hook up a propane tank and OPEN the valve properly would be beneficial to many im sure. Secondly….clarified butter. You mentioned burning or browning of the butter. Everyone needs to know how to make some. There are currently videos on this, Jean Pierre has a very good one.
If you haven't sold it already, your issue with temp has been reported by alot of people and is easily solve-able. On the facebook group, when this question comes up, there are always recommendations and explanations relating to the propane tank or regulator. What can happen is that there is a safety on the propane tanks to prevent too much gas escaping too fast, and this safety valve can get stuck. Alot of times the solution is just to disconnect the tank from the regulator, shut the valve, then reattach the tank and very slowly open up the valve. Some people also recommend buying a new, high quality regulator to replace the one that comes with the griddle.
@@jpbouffard yep l found an article that explained what was happening. I was doing exactly the opposite in trying to start it. I was even turning all the burners on before hitting the igniter switch
Thanks for the insights on some topics! Those check valves can be a pain sometimes and when you’re trying to get dinner on the table, it gets intense. I like the clarified butter option. I made a video a long time ago about how to make it, but need to revisit it.
Great tips, Hussey! Thanks. BTW... Do you have a video on how to reseason the Blackstone? I loaned my 2-burner to my daughter for a camping trip & it came back with nicks and scratches. I'd like to remove the seasoning and reapply. Thanks in advance.
For a dome lid, I use my Wok dome lid. What about using a disposable 9x13 aluminum pan? Also, you can buy a cheap putty knife for a scraper. Can you tell I'm cheap?
Good video! Very informative. Last year I got my dad a blackstone and I am very disappointed to say that it has only been used 10-15 times and most of those were me cooking on it. Now the cooking surface is warped badly.

Locos are not shabby either, however this has nothing to do with brand of griddle, this video id to be informative to folks who are getting into griddling. The griddle doesn’t make the cook…

You’re right. Sounds like his check valve tripped.

It’s whatever works for a dome. Doesn’t have to be a branded item.

Double H looks like he is in his Jedi temple.
😂 that’s “the lab”
Every display blackstone I see is so flimsy I cant justify it. The Loco's are built like an absolute tank in comparison.
