Some news on this video 🥲Unfortunately, and for the first time for us, the files for the 1820s cupcake video are corrupt. It has been a wild ride trying to recover them over the last 48 hours. We managed to save 2/3 however 1/3 is unsalvageable, meaning that the video as a whole just won't work as it is. We will have to re-film the video and put it out TOMORROW. So sorry for this and thank you for your patience. We are very much still alive and look forward to tomorrow so that we can hang out with you all again! Technology...it's only fun when it works.
This is my new favorite channel, so the video is definitely worth the wait. I’m so sorry you guys had yo te film and do all that with all over again! Love from Brooklyn NY 🥰
Sorry about what happen. I can't wait to see the video tomorrow on how you make cupcakes in the 1820. I love watching your videos an seeing how they cooked an what they cooked back in that 1800's. It sure was different during that time compared to this time frame..
Justine is pretty neat with the, "old school" style, physical comedy, and Ron's facial expressions and gesturing are spot on. Y'all got some neat comedy skills, if I may say so!
CrossFit 1820's style!!! Justine watching Ron lift the cannon thinking "Hercules! Hercules!". Justine fencing with her spoon is so appropriate! I don't care for sweet pumpkin dishes but I love pumpkin in savory dishes. My favorite thanksgiving food is stovetop stuffing which I doctor up with celery and onions. I just love you guys, you're so cute together. Caroling would be great. Maybe you could do wassailing!? Justine, I love your gowns, perhaps you can share where you buy them? Wasn't The Night Before Christmas written around your time? What about a skit on that?
I just love listening to you guys. You play so well off of each other. This has to be another one of my favorite videos. I laughed throughout, from beginning to end. That's just what I needed after a long, tiring week. Just seeing Ron's workout at the beginning of the video had me laughing up a storm. Thanks for a great, wholesome and informative show. P.S. The shawl fits you perfectly Justine. It's quite beautiful. I love the edging.
Justin and Ron both of you are not weird to me at all because you both are doing something that really makes you both so very happy and I’m grateful to watch you both
I must say since I discovered your channels a few weeks ago, I am so enjoying your videos. And, I think you two are a matched set - like bookends! I and my late hubby were part of a group for a couple of years before he became too ill. Thank you for doing these videos. I really enjoy them and am enjoying getting to know you through them. God bless!
Christmas carols would be awesome. Also, Christmas trees were decorated with fruit, nuts and candies---traditionally the trees were decorated on Christmas Eve...thus edible goodies were part of the gifts given on Christmas morning. The decorations weren't around long enough for mice to eat them.
Justine and Ron, you're such a lovely couple. I love watching all your shows, i am fascinated by how they cooked in the 17 and 18 centuries, as i have always been old fashioned and find the recipes very interewsting. Love your outfits, and cabin is gorgeous! Always look forward to your videos to see and learn how they lived in this time. Thank you for making them.
Loved the workout. My favorite holiday food is cornbread dressing. The table is beautiful. The paint job is amazing. I thought it was a real checker board. Also, Justine you are a genius with your fireplace. I can’t imagine how hard it would be maintain the temp for baking. But all your food looks delicious.
Such a beautiful shawl. I'm dreaming up a pattern for one myself, now! I'm so sorry y'all have been receiving negative comments! Prayers for patience and understanding. ❤️
Thank you Emily! You will make a beautiful shawl. Thankfully almost all of our videos still have 98-99% likes so at the end of the day it's all gonna be ok.
@@EarlyAmerican the good thing about shawls is if they don't turn out, the still make very nice GIANT doilies or pretties to hang over the back of a couch. 😄 Hopefully your subscriber count has gone up significantly, though! If only everyone subscribed to y'all instead of some of the smut on TH-cam. I know I can trust y'all's videos to be on while my toddler is in the room. ❤️
Like the lesson on cupcakes.I was quite comical seeing Ron and Justine doing the workout! Keep the good videos coming.I also watch them over and over again.David Back.
I absolutely am hooked on your Video’s, all of them ! Turkey & Cranberry sauce was my favorite. I think the both of you are great. Love the Early American 😁
This combined with your baking episode is probably your best yet. My interests are probably 70 years earlier, but it's still fun to actually see the "old" receipts being made.
Yes, you guys are weird but I'm here for it and I love it! Every time I watch you two make me guffaw heartily; especially you Justine! Keep up the great work!!
We the People enjoy and love you sharing the 200 year old recipes. Helps us to realize and count our Blessings for today. I believe there spices were healthier . I will share this with my Health Class.. Thank you 🙏🇺🇸❤️
Your Early American video came out great! I was able to enjoy and comment on it. Watching your "chew and chat" has been helping me overcome the blues over losing a sister, and has been creating an atmosphere of coziness, especially during this holiday season. I smile and even laugh watching and listening to you two. Thanks! Wishing you two continued blessings, and success with the building of your bigger home!
HooRay for your cooking from the receipts in the time-frame 1790s -- 1820s! This is the core of your channel. You are showing us true history, which I love.
My oldest son love cupcakes, so every year for his birthday he wants cupcakes. But it will be very interesting to see how they made cupcakes during the 1800's.
Justine, I do historic reenactment cooking, too. People are also often telling me how to do it right… in other words how they do it now. My resource is a translations of a 1760 Spanish Friars cookbook.
You two are not weird... you are refreshing.. I'm so glad I found your channel. ❤️ I can't wait to try some of the receipts you've cooked. Also loving the drama episodes 😊
Omg , I LOVE y’all’s workout routine !!! I laughed so hard 🤣 . I am so very thankful and happy that I found both of y’all’s channels. You two are a breath of fresh air in today’s world. Please don’t ever change cause we love y’all ❣️❣️
This is my second comment because I just had to tell y’all how excited I am that y’all are doing a Christmas tree decorated in the colonial/frontier time !!! ❤
Ron & Justine, love you guys!! The workout was Great and really made me laugh😂😂 Caroling would be fun as would a tree and decorations! Look forward to your videos, have a good week!!🤗
I love your videos! Thank you for explaining why they boiled food so often; it makes complete sense that way. The oven can be any temperature but water boils at 212F and it’s a constant they could use and time cooking so it makes so much sense! I love seeing the original receipts and how you figure them out because how do you measure two large teacups of something, how large are the teacups, what’s extra large or medium? Thanks for making amazing, educational videos!!
That IS a beautiful shawl! I've noticed you wearing it in a few videos. I am a crocheter so I notice stuff like that! 🤣 That is a nice thick shawl for sure! Perfect for Midwestern winters!
That exercise session was hilarious 😂😂😂!! I look forward to y’all’s videos so much!! Love the history lessons!! I would love ❤️ to come visit St. Genevieve when y’all have a re-enactment event!!
I just love you two! My husband showed me your channels back in September and I've been watching ever since. I told my sister about you as well. She and I love the era you represent. We'll done! My husband and I and our sons and there families pioneered her to Nebraska from Washington state during covid and are trying to settle in as midwesterners. You guys have made it a bit easier for me knowing you're in Missouri, which is a beautiful state. Keep up the good work! You always lift my spirits. Blessings, Lanette Faucett P.S. I am also related to Daniel Boone!
Another great video, and great job on the table ! I'd love to see the colonial furniture, if I could I would furnish my entire home with it. You both are very talented and funny!
Love old fashioned apple and sage dressing and cranberry sauce at my thanksgiving table and my husband loves candied sweet potatoes. You two were cracking me up watching your exercise routine. You two are just precious together.
It's funny when I first saw Ron working out I thought that's a Rocky workout and than later Justine sings eye of the tiger. Too funny. Love the cupcakes, gingerbread would have been my favorite. Glad you all had a great Thanksgiving. The food is so good too hard to pick a favorite with that. Beautiful shawl Justine, so well made such a lovely gift.
I enjoyed your work out routine! I love mashed potatoes and gravy. WOW, Ron, that was some singing. Really I think you must have a great singing voice. I'm working my way backwards in your videos. I am so enjoying them and both of you.
That was an interesting blend of the new with the old - you two know how to have fun. Nice antique looking furniture-that table round with a nice table cloth would be great for tea with someone. There are so many wonderful Christmas carols to sing "Hark the Harald Angel Sing", "Silent Night", "Go Tell It in the Mountain", "O Come All Ye Faithful", "Joy to the World, just to name a few. Our church will be singing a lot of Christmas Carols this month. The shawl gift is very practical and well made.
First off I wanted to say how much I love watching your TH-cam channel. I was watching your channel frontier Patriot about the cupcakes. And towards the end of the video you were talking about a book by Benjamin Franklin and how someone had come up to you who was 9th generation to Benjamin Franklin and the gentleman that was speaking to Ron told him was from Providence. But you wasn't quite sure where Providence was well you are correct it is part of New England and here's another small piece of trivia Rhode Island is one of the first 13 colonies in the union. Keep doing what you're doing I think you're channel is awesome
I'm looking forward to Justine's newest Early American video as well. Hmmm, did they bake them in actual teacups back then? So looking forward to both videos! You two are so much fun to watch!
These ones called for baking in small tin cups. I didn't have those so I used little redware cups. For most baking in what would have been expensive teacups was too much of a risk as the heat can make them crack. The thought is so beautiful though.
My 8 year old grandson and I look forward to your new episodes! I try to expose him to as much American History, and World History as possible, as it it no longer taught in schools here in Pennsylvania. Just a thought: years ago the decorating of Christmas tree was traditionally done on Christmas Eve. Therefore sugar, nut and fruit ornaments would only be exposed for a few hours. I am much older than most viewers and I remember the older ways from my time. Thank you ever so much! God bless you both and Merry Christmas!
i love stuffing, specifically, my grandmas stuffing, she was born in 1902, Bacon, onion, celery, carrots and an apple. dry bread and eggs and turkey stock. amazing. I also make Carrot Soufflé. just starting watching and love your videos, I started on Early American!
My wife and I absolutely love your two channels. Thanks so much for the vids! Happy holidays to you and Merry Christmas! :ranch dressing dollar general hahahaha!:
I have enjoyed your videos so much. We take so much for granted in this country. The majority of us would not know how to survive if a catastrophic event hit us..I was watching a video on what foods our Pioneers ate in the 1800's. And yes, just like you mentioned some recipes will turn your stomach..I never would think to eat boiled skunk! They would remove the scent glands and spice it up...another receipt which I found comical was called S.O.B soup..yes, that's right (son of a bit**) because back then they did not waste anything.. The soup is made with beef, sweet breads, brains and a few other ingredients. Truly grosse but if we had to live it we would definitely eat it because of hunger..
Hello Justine and Ron good evening 🙏 😊 I enjoy always your videos. Beautiful shaw how nice of a viewer that made it for you Justin 👏 Good day from me to you 🤗🥰
My favorite Thanksgiving food is green bean casserole too and also sausage cornbread stuffing. Gotta make lots so I have leftovers. Yummy. Your cupcakes look good too, need to try these.
Funny workout scene. Interesting to know that the cupcakes where dense without leaving. Looks delicious. Love cranberry sauce, stuffing, pumpkin pie. I embrace Thanksgiving as my favorite American holiday. Thanksgiving is not part of my native country tradition. Love the table Ron did. Interesting to see a sugar tree decorations. Thank you for the video.
My favorite this thanksgiving was the orange honey glazed goose I cooked with the gizzard and liver stuffing that was made with toasted bread, chopped onions, chopped celery with thyme, sage, oregano and sweet oregano. I lightly wet the stuffing with drippings made from the goose neck. I stuffed the goose so the juices from the goose did the rest.
I have two Patriots in my family tree, one was a minuteman and they both survived the war! Highly recommend checking out Boone, NC! We spent time there in September, it's so beautiful.
Wow, I can tell y'all were still on that sugar high 🤣 my favorite Thanksgiving dish is the stuffing, although an honorable mention certainly goes to sweet potato casserole and I also have relatives who do a *really* good mac and cheese.
I love period videos. You two are so dorky. I LOVE IT! Great videos. I just discovered your channel and videos not long ago and I really enjoy them. Happy Holidays! 😊
Nice job on the cup cakes. I guess they’re described as they were made like you mentioned. I guess pan cakes derived their name similarly? Nice shawl too. You need a pin or button to keep it closed. :)
Laughed out loud on the workout video! That was great! 🤣 My favorite is sweet potatos, sliced and roasted, with a bit of honey and salt, served with cranberry chutney. YUMMO! Great video, ty for sharing y'all! 💛🌿🍁

You two are hilarious! Loved the workout video!🤪🤪🤪
"I've seen some really gross ones that I'm saving for the furure". That made me laugh out loud. You two are hilarious. ♥
*future. Oops. 2nd edit...Providence is in Rhode Island, not the people's republic of Massachusetts.

I love your videos! Thank you for explaining why they boiled food so often; it makes complete sense that way. Love the table! Indeed technology is vexing. You guys do a great job and I always look forward to your videos!

You are teaching him much better than any book anyway. Visually. I applaud you.

I love you two! You always make me laugh, but the workout scenes were epic. LOL!
Very lovely shawl, Justine! That took a lot of yarn to make it and yarn is expensive these days. Take good care of it and it will last for years.

Good day from me to you 🤗🥰

I love the stuffing. I always make twice as much as is needed for leftover Turkey and stuffing casserole.
My favorite Thanksgiving food is green bean casserole too and also sausage cornbread stuffing. Gotta make lots so I have leftovers. Yummy. Your cupcakes look good too, need to try these.
The workout session was brilliant 😂
Loved seeing y'all's 18th century aerobic workout routine, too! 😄🏋♂️🤸♀️
Funny workout scene.

Another great episode, and i love Ron's way of working off all those cupcakes! Great looking table too, nice work Ron!
You guys are not weird you are lovely! And just being yourselves, nothing wrong with that.
I love your game board. Growing up we had one. My brother has it. And your wood spoons.
Love stuffing, green bean casserole ,and cranberry sauce😍
I applaud your patience cooking back in the day foods. The heat alone has to be almost untolerable.❤️

Mmmmmmmm....gotta love a cupcake!!🥮🍨🎂🧁🧁
