Slowdive - Live at Effenaar, Eindhoven, 21st February 1992 SETLIST 01. Song no. 1 02. Spanish Air 03. Slowdive 04. Bleed 05. Catch the Breeze 06. Morningrise 07. She Calls 08. Ballad of Sister Sue 09. Avalyn
it sounds a lot more sleepy and shoegazey in my opinion - the lead guitar's sustain is a lot more prominent, and the bass is louder. i like this sound, although I feel like they aren't very comfortable with playing "Ballad of Sister Sue" live. maybe it's just me, but Rachel seems to sing too quiet (even quieter than on the studio version), and the chorus is just a botchfest, with Neil not getting on his queue, and being way too louder than the lead singer. Maybe it sounds better in raw quality, as in actually being there, but it doesn't in here.
@@yellowclouds3722 i don't think it has a title, sadly, just song number one, but it's such a good track, it's found on their demos and rarities releases
The year I started secondary school. Shame I was such a dopey boring bastard at 11 years old, with no interest in music, just having a footy kick about with mates...I missed prime time Slowdive (and Rachel looking her finest)!! Only discovered them 30 years later. I blame my older sister for having such bad taste in music, namely, Bros then Vanilla Ice! I didn't stand much chance of picking up good influences. Going to a Slowdive gig at 11 might have changed my life for the infinitely better. Just turned 40 and not done much of note. Damn, that thought depresses me, what could have been.
I was in college in the US in the early 90s. Slightly aware of them but they were not marketed well here compared to bands like My Bloody Valentine. Happy that I finally got into them. Better late than never!!!

next time they join forces 2020+ I wish Slowdive would record that first song and some other ones they didn't get to from the early days, and finally release them. They are all killer tracks.

Perfection. Their live sound is better than their albums - far more noisier and aggressive.
David Duncan: As is the case with most live recordings - but I definitely agree!

Can't believe people got to see n hear "Song no.1" live. Their postpunk cure/joy div era went so hard.

beautiful recording. sounds great, really visually pleasing with that nostalgic vhs feel. thanks for uploading this!
HOLY SHIT this starts out with one of my fave rarities by them... i didn't fully expect that, this'll be a fun ride
I didn't know the track but it's so great... Which title is it?

I saw three shows on this tour: Stockholm, Uppsala and Gävle. Mindblowingly good, thanks for uploading.
Wow, they did that many Swedish dates? They played in Gothenburg too, right? Any more?

Hey man I didn’t discover them until 30, just a few years ago and I’m just glad I did.

wonderfully shot! So hard to find good footage, everyone was so awful with their camera work back then.
