  • A morning full of wading birds but then there is a surprise visit from a Sparrowhawk that cleared the reserve.
    Some great birds around including Black Tailed Godwit, Redshank, Snipe, Teal and many more.
    Oh and not to forget the scrapping Coot's.
    Thanks for watching..... KG's Photography.

    Great video, some lovely shots. I tend to focus my photography on birds of prey like sparrowhawks, kestrels, buzzards etc. but the downside of that is you often can't risk photographing other things or taking my attention to any other subject, however I've been trying to photograph a little more variation recently.

    • @KGsPhotography
      @KGsPhotography  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Tristan. I really enjoy birds of prey too. A couple of nights ago we had a wonderful Sparrowhawk pay a surprise visit to the garden and I managed to get an amazing shot so was really chuffed. Thanks fir watching the channel. Cheers Keith

    Really like the format of introducing the scene with a run in with some footage then getting some nice stills to finish off, have to say Keith this format really works for me keeps my interest and makes it feel very fresh. 👍

    Hi Keith, good to see you out and about again. Some wonderful stills and video that you managed to bag. At Summer Leys? A question; were you using aperture priority with auto ISO for your shots? Just curious. Cheers and take care.

    • @KGsPhotography
      @KGsPhotography  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Yolo. I shoot in manual but with auto ISO. That way I can control both the shutter speed and aperture but the camera will compensate with ISO. I just adjust the shutter speed to try and keep the ISO as low as possible although in this video most was birds in flight so shutter speed was high. Cheers Keith

    Thank you for the excellent video. Which reserves would you suggest in the Northwest and Midlands? In terms of quantity and variety of species? Also any suggestions for prey birds and owls? I'm relatively new to this and willing to travel, but it is a great disappointment if you travel miles away and finally your expectations are not met. Thanks again.

    • @KGsPhotography
      @KGsPhotography  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Minas. Problem is I guess you can never guarantee anything with wildlife. Not had much experience of reserves in the Northwest but the Solway coast has a great selection of birds. The other reserve in the Midlands I regularly visit is Brandon Marsh in Coventry. Summer Leys where this was filmed in Northamptonshire is good but small so parking can be a problem. Birds of prey are always difficult to guarantee and is more pot luck, the same with Owls. Cheers Keith

    Hi Keith, what binocular are you using? I intend to get one from Nikon, but I'm not sure which is the right one for birding. Thank you in advancea and have a great day Keith.

      Hi and thanks for watching. I use the Vortex DB-215 Optics Diamondback HD 10x42. Here is an amazon link amzn.to/3pxNxVW . They are the first ones I have been really comfortable with and seem easy to use. If your interested on anymore of the gear I use check out my website page www.kgsphotography.co.uk/photography-gear . Have you ever considered identifying the bird species somewhere on the video of them? These video channels are, afterall, world-wide in their reach and I for one would like to know the names of these ducks and shorebirds. But I live in North America and your European/English birds are not known to me. Granted they look very similar to our species (e.g. the teals at the beginning, etc.) but I know they are different species with different names. In fact I was surprised, here in my first ever visit to your channel to see that you didn't name these birds! So thumbs down for now.

    • @KGsPhotography
      @KGsPhotography  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching Breck and appreciate your comment. I will try and talk about what the birds are during the video but to be honest having to write text all through the video can be a little time consuming. Of course there is another reason I don’t do it and that is because sometimes I don’t know what they are... 😂. People who watch my channel regularly know I am no expert on the different birds just love bringing you the images. Feel free to ask if there any particular birds you would like me to identify Thanks again, cheers Keith
