I love watching them fly and photographing them. I want to learn as much as I can about them. They may not be pretty but I do think they're nice to see.
You're lucky you get to see them a lot, I've only seen one around where I live, though a nice pair of red tailed hawks live right by my house, and I do get to see Cooper's hawks around sometimes
We have these all over where i live. You can't drive anywhere in open spaces and not see one or 15. They're absolutely magnificent birds and love how they soar high in the sky content as can be. My all time favorite winged species. Thank God for them.
A week or two ago I saw two vultures gliding headlong into the wind. They almost looked like they were hovering. Then they would turn around and go at it again. One of them did a barrel roll when the wind caught its wing. It was so cool to watch.
Agreed. I saw a dozen of them up close the other day, for the first time. I took a video of them and put it on my channel. I wasn't sure what i was even looking at, when i first saw them. Lol. They look prehistoric. I live in St.Louis area and we don't see them often. I think a storm may have brought them...
As I type there are 50+ roosting in the 100+ft poplar trees in my backyard. I love them, so big and the way they "float" on a breeze looks like fun. --Ane
True story: On my way to my job one day, I passed a cemetery where one of these birds was perched atop one of the headstones, like something out of a bad gothic/horror movie.
I saw 2 of turkey vultures on my way home the other day, and it scared the absolute shit out of me. I'd never seen vultures before - not even at the zoo - and then I see 2 gigantic black birds hanging out in the middle of the street eating. I was in the comfort of my car and still afraid to move. Apparently, everyone else knew we had turkey vultures. I can't believe I've been out here my whole life and never encountered these guys before.
Great video. The interviewer did a fantastic job and of course So did the vulture and her handler (the interview-ees). I just appreciated the information as well as the video itself 👍
Gotta love 'em. They're like the undertakers of the animal world. Drop dead anywhere, and a vulture will be by shortly to see to it that your innards are properly recycled.
Just saw my first one today! I didn't know what it was - landscaper was working in my yard and called me over to see it. Just moved to the country from the city. I'm seeing so much wildlife now and I love it.
I think these are flying around our office park, but I can't tell for sure. There are 3 of them and they fly together throughout the day in the park, just swooping around.
I saw a gaggle/flock/whatever of them along a rural bike trail in southeast Nebraska. They were all nesting up on a rock bluff above the trail and got spooked when they heard me coming on my bike and took off, swooping down over the trail. Huge winspans!
That would be a colony of vultures, other terms are kettle(when circling), committee and congregation. There are numerous, but neither gaggle or flock(weirdly enough) aren't used. I was pretty certain that conspiracy has been used, but the two pages I checked didn't list it.
I was just wondering these birds Fly around my parents house every so often there cool to take pictures of but i was just wondering is it Possible to get a tree that they like eating from or being on or nesting in that will attract them in my area more? there so cool looking but looking to attract more wild life but was wondering if anyone new what kind of trees they liked if anyone has any feedback i would appreciate it thanks.
0:56 vulture tries to make great escape. 1:01 tries to bite off the leash that prevented her great escape. 0:25 = vulture using the tactic for scaring off wild humans - try to make yourself look big by spreading your arms.
Where I live they have really been growing in numbers. On a good day, you can see as many as 100 of them resting ( or soaring around ) our main satellite communications tower which is about 200 feet tall that has 2 walkways near the top of it. They use the railings of the walkways as perches. Really neat to see.
Probably in a minority of one here, but I think turkey vultures are pretty birds. I always like watching them fly around.

+ Tuvia Dulin I saw one at my grandparents house, it was pretty close. They are great birds.
I think they're cute. :V

I saw my first turkey vulture a few days ago :) was super cool and cute, thank u for this informative vid!
I live in LA County and I am very fortunate to be able to see these birds on my way home from work. Thanks for this video.
They are huge! You can't tell when they are wobble-soaring in the sky.

I've seen a couple in my backyard as well. It is a little unsettling to see such a large bird with a gnarly-looking face like that haha.
There's a big ass group of these things by my apartment in. They are so damn fat, they broke the tree they were standing on.
u live next to a charnel house?

They're so damn gorgeous. I have a spiritual connection with all scavengers.
They want for nothing, but need for all.
I love vultures, wish I could keep one as a pet, but they get too big ^^

Lots of them in the East Bay. Love watching them soar. Such efficient flyers!
Living in Arizona I often see them, they are amazing animals.
Peace.
Awesome Bird!!!

Is this Lindsay Ontario Canada?
Aw, Ricky. So cool to see him on something like this.

Where is the Lindsay Wildlife Museum located?
Beautiful feathers.
not the bronze casket, but the brazen wing shall claim my mortal remains!
Can't decide which one is more beautiful
TV rule..such a wonderful bird :)
What all plants do they like? I've seen so many of them love pine trees.
I was watching condors before this, these are babies in comparison!
Vulturewulture looks like she's asking for a hug ❤❤❤
I read somewhere that Thomas Jefferson kept birds of prey. Among his prize birds was a Turkey Buzzard!
I think I've seen these turkey vultures fly above my city very often.

They like to roost in groups in large dead trees. Since you can't plant a dead tree, I suggest building a perch for them.
Just saw three of them passing through my town a few minutes ago.
I saw one today up close in our neighborhood. It was feasting on a dead squirrel. I filmed him and we'll upload a video soon on my channel.
you never did this... i am disappointed in you tbh
Had one of these guys in my neighborhood once. Really freaked out my mother. I named him Conrad.
Will ferrels gwb interview brought me here lmao
As in Joseph?
I found one of these living in the dumpster at work.
Do wild turkey vultures harm humans?

I was biking one day and one flew RIGHT in front of my bike. I died that day.
I got a cool video of a buzzard playing with my kids ball in the back yard.
Let's see it! Did you upload it?
