I have the ART Pro Channel in my studio among a few others. I'm not a big commercial studio, but I think if you are serious, then you should invest in a good one. The analog compression on the way in, on top of tube and EQ options, will make your recording workflow easy. Add character and tone shaping on the way in and commit to it. They will not magically make things better, for that, you need lots of practice and learning how to use them.

I'm really impressed with the ART pre so far and like you say, lots of options to experiment with on the way in. Great comment bud 👍

great video, I use akg p120 I bought the art studio v3 pre amp, I'm very happy and it really does magic on vocals, in Brazil there aren't many videos about it, I really want an analogue compressor, I'm thinking about the behringer mdx2600, I'm very insecure , I want to study my equipment more and more now, and you helped me a lot to understand the magic and the process of it, does analog equalizer make a lot of difference in recordings? before or after analog compression?

I prefer the acoustic through the preamp, not much difference for me on the crunch guitar

no problem, I don’t have a preamp but I have universal audio unison…. Although I rarely use the unison features.

After the preamp, what are you going into? Another interface with another preamp? Or are you running out of the preamp and out of the interface into another board to record it? Just trying to understand your signal chain. Sorry for the long wonder response, but you could have also done this all woth a splitter or preamp box so there would be different of performance in the AB test

I never touch the interface. Pre amp only. One that saturates too for me. Sounds good, but best thing is it’s more accessible than the tiny control dial on the interface. I have a Golden Age 73. I like it.
