Should be good. Just cause 3 and 4 were both very fun to play. Team has a ton of open world game exp.
If that video for best classes comes out like 2 days after release don't trust it. If it isn't obvious, it'd just be youtubers rushing for those views like they do on every new release. Best advice in games with choices is experiment. That's it lol
to be fair, depends on the youtuber - there's definitely some youtubers that can potentially get the game like a week or two early.
sure, they might not all have full on, 50+ hours and endgame deep dive to them, but it's not like they're all super uninformed.
It's more fun to experiment yourself than forcibly attempt to min max with other peoples advice or in depth theorycrafting anyway. At the very least on the first playthrough.
@@Luftgitarrenprofi exactly. And on a game like this where there seems to be plenty of choices of mixing perks and abilities as you progress further in the game, you can have plenty of different character builds where you mix and match. No need for copying anybody

I'm playing a Dumdon Mercenary with strength and agility as primary stats as well as a light aura to create a sort of honorable samurai who protects the innocent with their high degree of skill / blade training for my first playthough.
5/22/21 - Leaning more towards playing a tank type character, but they all sound so fun.
I was thinking the exact same. I also may start a mage chstachter also at the same time to see how that goes or maybe a little later untill I find out how the mage gets its abilities
@@ralphieboy718 Yeah a mage sounds like a good playstyle too. To be honest, I was thinking of playing either my aforementioned idea and or a saboteur with a heavy use on two handed light blades and bows to create a sort of assassin character with a dark aura of course. There's a lot to choose from, but they all sound good especially sense there's a lot we don't know about the complexity of each class in the game yet either.
@@ralphieboy718 I believe you find new mutations in a couple different methods, you can find radioactive pools, you can find these machines below ground that mutate you
@@ChronicSynchronizer Yeah I think so too. It sounds like you get both psionic (magic) and physical mutations (such as resistances) by interacting with the world, hence the statement that your character can be completely different from the one you started playing with.
My only concern is that I want to go melee but are guns tied to an attribute? Bc from the footage I've seen of the bigger enemies or bosses it's a lot of shooting. So will I handicap myself if I spec straight into melee?
Looking forward to this.. need something for when I'm feeling antisocial. Nice summery of class/race combos for archetypes.

If you are wanting to go range then you should choose deadeye instead of commando. DE has a perk that allows 100% more damage on all 2 handed guns. The only reason you should choose commando is if you're wanting to run dual pistols because commando has a perk specifically for that.
I'm going with a primal mercenary 60 intellect 40 charisma and boosting luck as I go through. Should be able to attack fast enough and land crits and use magic from a distance when things get hairy. Itll give me a great barter stat as well. I call it the Wung-Fu Scholar
I’m gonna either go like a gunzerker style class with the slider in between strength and agility, take the mercenary class so that I can dual wield my melee weapons with 2 status weapons and then deal wield pistols. Or a battle mage if that’s something that can be optimal just because they’re always fun in games

Breed: Dumdon
Mutation: Full Strength or Strength/Agility
Resistance: Heat for Fashion
Let's hope there are 2 Handed Weapons like Greatswords, I really love big clunky hard hitting Weapons^^
Class: Psi Freak
Breed: Fip
Mutation: Full Intellect
Resistance: Radioactivity for Fashion
A pure Mage is always fun dealing tons of Damage in a single Attack just feels great.
That's kinda it, I hope we can have multiple Mutants to try things out.
Hmm, the primal agility approach seems to work with both the Dual Wielder and the Gunslinger play style, would be interesting to see if I could have the best of both worlds when I unlock some of the skills later down the road.
I really just wanna play melee focused, probably Dumdon Saboteur. Not sure if I will bother with dual-wielding (nice choice to have anyway) but I really wanna play a melee / dodge focused build that specs into Psi powers later on for extra ranged dmg / abilities.
If there are hireables/companions and if the number you can have is related to your charisma, then the tanky class for a war leader/champion playstyle might be really strong.
The Deadeye or Commando question will be answered most likely after we play the actual game. 20% damage for next magazine sounds realy familiar to something like "first shot from the magazine gets the bonus" or "20% for the reaaaly short time" which makes for some op build if this game has a good one shot one kill or burst damage weapons. Now commando will be better if Biomutant weapons will be focused more on overall DPS.
Overall Im feeling like Deadeye focused on the crit chance will be my go to for the first playthroguh.

I was waiting for someone to put my class in a video, and you did at the very end... And luck will have more play into other aspects than we think...
if you watch the videos of character creation the breed do affect stats, not the numeric thing (which is the overarching stat), but the bars below, i.e. the derived stats, for example when they choose Dumdon the melee damage bar increases while the energy regen bar decreases without changing the overarching stats of strength or intellect.

I’m considering making a “charismage” Murgel psi freak and split charisma/int with some luck added in. Hard to say until we know what high charisma really means for the game.

it is yes
The preorder class is just a preset class, everything that makes up the mercenary, you can find in your first play through.. Basically the mercenary is sabituar with better starting gear

Str/Vit: Tank with high dps (Sentinel, Commando)
Str/Agi: High dps and crit with dodging. (Dead-eye, Saboteur)
Agi/Int: High Crit and dodge with crowd control magic (Commando, Psi-Freak)
Int/Cha: Mage with bartering and better looting. (Psi-Freak, Saboteur)
Cha/Vit: Tank with bartering and loot. (Sentinel, Dead-eye)
I'm hoping weird classes will be viable in this game, but I think a diplomat tank will be a fun option, go Murgel and Sentinel with a balance of Cha and Vit. Get lots of crowd control skills and a beastly two handed weapon and tons of HP and Armor along with good loot and bartering. Also the Mage Rouge since Int and Agi are connected. High Intelligence Saboteur or High Agility Psi Freak. I'm also hoping the game allows for a totally balanced primal play where you use a little of everything. But in general it looks like this game lends to a combo class combining two attributes that are next to each other. So...
It's Primal Deadeye for this guy with stats split right between strength and agility. I want to kick ass at all ranges and show no mercy. Being a good guy is for real life. I wanna see this world burn for my first playthrough.

I'm pretty sure the Sabatier is the only class that can dual wield (mele weapons)

Although the general ideas are still good, this video needs an update with all the new infos we got this last couple of days on breeds (murgels seem to have a bonus in luck), classes (they changed commandos perks) and stats (+10 per level in one of the 6 categories) and perks progression. It seems that we can do whatever we want in terms of characters build, which I find both cool (no dramatic choice) and disturbing (one may build a diplomatic berserker dual gun/melee battlemage...). The pros of min/maxing and building will have work for months to come 😉

I really want make some contradictory builds like a Fip saboteur built into strength and agility, and then rank up intelligence as I play.. or a Rex psifreak built into intellect and agility and build up strength as I play with that one, just so I can have a melee caster character
I'm thinking I'm going to be going for a gun mage. I like the idea of a Ratchet style character with crazy guns but the elemental dashes that where in the gameplay demo recently looked so much fun.

Going straight mage style and intellect/luck build, more focus on the luck stats though for the crits.
I think the better choice would be saboteur/mercenary. Simply because they have the dual wield skill you can't get anywhere else.

Murgel and sabitor.. I think the higher chance of better loot will come into play. And the ability to duel weild 2 handed weapons i think will be OP
I do want to play as a caster. I also want to hit people with guns and ailments. I keep hoping there are gadgets and grenades. I love subterfuge in gaming.

I played the sentinel for a bit and it desperately needs a buff, 10 armor is nothing, 10% increase in health regenerate is worthless outside of combat because you aren't fighting and while in combat almost all health items heal me to full with one heal without the perk, ricochet is decent a decent perk I will give them that, getting 20% increase for your armor and damage when at full health seems good, but everything damages you and it is nigh impossible to avoid getting hit by everything, and you don't regenerate health when in combat, making smaller enemies fall down when you dodge into them sounds good, but I have yet to unlock it so I can't say anything. I am going to restart and choose a different class because as of right now Sentinel is the worst class in the game. I may choose either psi-freak or commando.
Exactly in the beginning i said of course fip and cyfreak, but i fear that will look hideous. Thus i will probably go rex but still storm mage as you called it.
I love the Murgel breed so far but I probably will choose the Rex/Sentiel
So all characters have 28 in all stats by default, but if you look carefully things like health, melee damage etc will vary for everyone based on race and class picks.
Hyla starts with more armor than others which is nice since armor doesn’t seem to be influenced by vitality. Murgel has the highest loot chance of everyone even though everyone’s starting luck is 10. I wish they showed exact numbers instead of meters.
If you look at the top right it says stat details, so my guess is you press that and it shows the stat numbers

You can't go under 10 in each characteristic. So the maximum that you can get for vitality at the beginning is 28+18x4 = 100 and 10 in the other characteristics. You have got 140 points to distribute between the 5 characteristics.
At the start you can definitely go full Vitality mutation for the largest increase. You can pick up Hyla and Sentinel if you want maximum tankiness

I’m going for crit/dot build if there are dots. All intellect saboteur kind of like the battlemage. See if it works 😂
Very nice startup setups. I think I will go for a mage but I am not sure I will put all points in intellect, as I think I may have to dodge a lot 😉
tbh this is also just level 1 stuff here - you could dump all starting points into one stat, doesn't necessarily mean every stat point for the rest of the game goes there, too.
@@leeman27534 Sure thing. But from what i saw of gameplay, I am not sure that you can early on crush your enemies with magic without taking damages. So, a little bit more agility would probably make the game easier for a pure mage at the beginning.

I think every class has access to magic but certain classes/races will use it more efficiently, if I'm not mistaken. At least that's what I'm hoping for.
yeah, seems like skills are learnable outside of just being a psy freak. iirc someone was talking about early resistances as being 'key' to going into toxic areas to pick up some abilities early on. so, guessing it might be mutations you can pick up in hazardous areas.
just, they start with one, can potentially get access to more, and make them work better, essentially.
After my legendary funeral pyre disappeared from my inventory in outriders im looking for another game to play that is less frustrating and with less bugs and glitches, is Biomutant an rpg?

Classes are only starting gear and starting perks, each mutant can gain any and all gear/talents.
wait, don't primals have best crit chance of all breeds? Wouldn't it make more since to roll primal for crit build?
'for a crit build', sure, maybe.
in general, not necessarily. it depends, how easily can we make a crit build? how do crits work? what's the potential damage values? what crits, for example, if you want to play a mage, and spells don't crit, going for a crit build would be pointless.
besides, i dunno if you saw, but you can't actually increase luck at the start of the game anyway. and trying to go for a luck build right out the gate, when str/agi/int could have far better returns, might be pointless.

So all we can do is speculate, and this is pretty trivial. If you wanna go melee take more strenght, if you wanna play ranged take more agility. Yeah, thanks Sherlock...
I'm gonna play the deadeye class and invest in agility and intelligence and to use ranged weapons and Sci abilities. Sort of like a gun mage

I have so many questions about the perks you start with..... i mean you would think that choosing the sabitour class is wouldent have you just use 1 handed wepons
why. maybe the ideas you're trying to enforce onto the class just don't fit the game, and on the flipside - could just be a name. like the video said, 2 melee weapons could be great for trying to inflict 2 status effects at once, rather than pure DPS or something, whereas other melee classes get more outright melee damage boosts.

agi focused, saboteur class.
has dual weilding melee weapons, so you can potentially get a decent fast one-two punch in, potentially trigger two different elemental effects/weapon abilities
and it's got a 20% reduction to energy costs for dodging, meaning you can get out of there for cheaper.
and we don't know for sure, but there's probably a few upgrades to help this sort of dash in, dash out sort of style, especially since this game seems really focused on mobility in general. maybe even later classes you can swap to that have abilities that give damage or defensive bonuses after dodging.
there's also potential skills that could be good - a fire trail that could work as a dash skill + damage, there's AOE burst attacks that can work nicely for a crowd opener, dash in, BOOM, GTFO and start to 'work the crowd'

well, everyone can use melee, guns, and skills. being a deadeye doesn't mean you're locked out of anything - this isn't one of those melee OR ranged OR spell games.
just depends what kind of abilities you can get, really. skills should be obtainable (just, psy freak starts with a magic skill, instead of needing to find one)
and the shock ball might be psi specific, but there's other skills in the game, too.

best system, hard to say as it's not out but probably pc, for potential mods down the line.
as for yoda, probably high agi, dodge focused class.

I think I’ll go with the mage first. Maybe it’s like in demons souls and it’s the easiest way to beat the game.
And for a second playtrough something difficult....
honestly i think it'll be a little harder.
the main reason magic was kinda OP in souls games was because, it was kinda balanced around ou trying to avoid melee damage, working with your stamina, and landing your own hits - all pointless (kinda) if just launching crystal spears from like 30 feet away.
here, different story. you're not usually just fighting 1-2 foes with only melee weapons, you're fighting half a dozen foes, potentially WITH ranged weapons. this game is also balanced around being fast on your feet and nimble as fuck, whereas casting might force you to stop for a second and open yourself up to attacks. also, you had plenty of time to let your energy recharge in souls, because again, most of the time it was like 'a' enemy for 20 secs at least, and they die in a stiff breeze anyway, half the time. here, probably not as strong, and even if it was beefy, there's still half a dozen foes you're not likely to be able to wipe out before needing to recharge your energy.
