      @@MrRazorblade999 Crows and magpies are tricksters by nature. They will tease and taunt each other and predators any time of year, not only during nesting season. They love to gamble and have been known to play death games with each other

      @donfillinger3571 Crows and magpies are indeed playful and intelligent tricksters, but claims about "gambling" or "death games" are more myth than reality.

    0:10 ....I believe that is called a PERGOLA
    Often pergolas are used to provide shade to outdoor living spaces such as patio furniture, hot tubs, and outdoor grills (when used with a tarp or shade material). Pergolas provide just the right amount of shade, while still letting in all of the other elements.

      The cat has zero chance of catching the bird on that surface. In fact I believe the bird is trying to trick the cat into getting hurt.

      Not even in nature, check out some other material about cats and magpies. They don't fear them and usually play either an injured bird to attract the cat or even attack them to protect the breed. Sure these two grew up and trust each other.

    They don't say "cat quick" for no reason. The Magpie is playing with fire.

    • @Gernot66
      @Gernot66 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      She knows exactly what she does, it's an instinctive behave to protect the breed, they even play an injured bird just to attract the cat and keep it off the breed, or are willing to attack them. They don't play with fire they are as fast as a cat as you see and with a single flap of her wings she's in the air, the cat can only wave goodbye.
      I found even a clip of a couple who a re playfriends, sure it's not their natural behave but it shows well that i is no problem for the magpie to handle a cat.

      My cat has the same bald spot. It's an allergic reaction to a flea bite. It's irritable so they overgroom the area. Funny enough he actually has a magpie war going on too. It's because the nest is nearby

    Had a bengal the magpies used to taunt her whilst she walked in the garden never once saw her react. Then one day heard a tremendous commotion outside the front door The cat and three magpies fellinside the door when I opened it Presume tha cat had caught a youngster. Didnt see anymore taunting after that.

  • @amayaw2002

    Come on! Why? This happened to two of my cats! Once, I got woke up one time by one squawking at my cat Milly! It was flying from the roof to the tree and back, teasing her to come and get it! I woke up and I grabbed my cat gently and I pulled her away from the window!

    • @royfearn4345
      @royfearn4345 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      In context, cats are the apex predators here. The magpies know this and are simply demonstrating their lack of fear. In short, they're taking the piss! Good on them.

    • @amayaw2002
      @amayaw2002 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's exactly the problem. My window was closed when that was happening, so, of course, my cat couldn't attack the magpie. But in her mind, she wanted to attack it. I could tell that she didn't like being teased by it one bit. She hated every second of it. Her tail was twitching back and forth, and she kept looking away from the window, and not towards the window, where the magpie was teasing her. I could tell that she just wanted to be left alone. I mean, I would have done the same exact thing if I were a cat. I just don't understand why they like to tease cats and dogs. It would seem like a big waste of time to me if I were a magpie. I would just simply put it as a way of playing with the cat or the dog and as a way of some sort of interaction between the two of them. It's just that I don't like to be woken up by one squawking at my cat through the darn window, that's all. But I am just fine watching them tease the cats and the dogs outside of the window. Now, that's pretty funny to watch. I just don't like it when they perch on the top of the awning that is right above my window. I can hear them loud and clear through the glass, and it really bugs me when I'm just trying to get some sleep. I'm not complaining about the noise or anything like that. I just want some peace and some quiet, so that I can freakin get some sleep. I'm so happy that we got our two pine trees removed from our front yard. We had a reason to do this, though. The spruce beetles had been eating them, so we had to get rid of them or they would have fallen right on to the roof of our house. My house could have been destroyed if they hadn't have been removed. Thank God that some people showed up to graciously remove them from our yard. All that's in our yard now is the stumps from the trees. Huh. I wonder why they didn't remove those from the yard when they chopped down the pine trees.

    This is an awfully dumb cat. If that had been a Tabby, that Magpie would have been dinner by now.
