Get rid of the Humans that make everything erode. On the subject of "erosion", there's no "erosion" taking place, there is however an enormous amount of "scouring" that's occurring!!!

Why don't you get real. The reason that dam failed and was bypassed was in 1991 the lake became a "run of the river" dam due to silting up. The problem wasn't where the washout was. The problem was no flood control capacity due to silting up.
and that they let it block with trees, and never opened the sluice gates on the other side
All reservoirs are temporary, we are seeing the lifespan of the earlier dams playing out. It may take centuries for deep highland reservoirs to silt in but they will. Future generations will have to pay for our folly.
@@mrmoke2820 Exactly that...temporary. Furthermore, once a dam fails all the silt will eventually flow to the next downstream dam creating the potential for cascading dam failures. Finally, the larger the dam the much less economic it is to dredge the silt out, to the point where dredging would end up costing many times more than the original dam construction.
The county officials don't care because it doesn't affect any of them.

Them soils were not meant to be part of the dam or part of the dam for that matter. The water should not have been over there in the first place. The dam should have been fixed or breeched as to what they found in their study. Had that been done this would not be news right now.
The store owners should sue the county, They know the dam was faulty years ago and did nothing.

As fast as that water was going they will be lucky if the river doesn't just decide to go straight through from the Southern loop to the dam like it is already trying to do. The experts care so much they have not fixed the issue since it broke in 2019, they took the lazy way out.
