wow this reminds of me of daughter being born.. me singing you`ve gotta fly whilst she was i.c.u! im in tears listening now..yeah she survived & love her to bits..graduated last year! so proud of her! thanks Cast for Good memories..
When I was 13 my Dad and I went to a car boot sale and he brought me this cool old amp and speakers, and on the way home we popped in to Woolies and I got this single. Went home and hooked the amp and speakers up to my CD player and stuck this on... I'd honestly never heard music played so loud. Still makes me smile now thinking about that day.
Saw Cast supporting Paul Heaton last night at Cardiff Castle and they were superb. The new songs were great and shows good song writers are always good song writers. Amazing drum sound, although everything was even and clear.
Seen John power at Stockton on Tees festival 2008. He was going solo. In the 90's when everyone was bumming oasis I was giving my soul to CAST...... yessaa!!!!
Wow, this is so emotional, remember this song, when I was in Year 11, in 1997- always felt so guilty, after suffering from chronic abuse, and still used to listen to this song, to cheer me up, but was still being torn apart!
Used to listen to this when I lived in Slough, I'd just finished uni and first job I got was in Slough. I was so homesick whenever I heard John Power's voice I'd start crying. Glad to be home!
Still sounds great I remember this was a stand alone relese at there hight, I have the cassette single still & this had Canter as it's b-side, easily my favourite song of theirs. Psychedelic
Best comment...cast and oasis are good friends...Liam just had that extra persona....I love them both...I can't listen to today's shite...im 43 ...if that means im out of the loop...thank fuck..ha..peace x
@@Paul-dn2bj Haha yes Paul! I'm only 23 mate but seen Cast a couple times, the All Change anniversary tour was ace. Yeah I agree man, there's the odd band that stand out but as for all the drill/rap bollox can't be doing with it.
Awh that's a pity. I'm going to see them with Liam tomorrow night. Actually as excited to see them as Liam. I saw them in 1997 twice, supporting Pulp and at Reading Festival. Saw John Power solo about 10 years ago. This was their biggest hit although they are probably more known for Walkaway.
You've got to fly You've got to fly You've got to fly You've got to fly It's just like flying through the air It's just like flying through the air It's just like flying through the air Ah you can make it if you dare You live your life without a care You know that love is everywhere Now you wanna fly, reach the sky So come on, come on I see the world you live, remain so big So come on, come on Come on come on You send your message through the air Receive it loud and clear You send your message through the air Ah can you aim high to the sky You never know unless you try, Can you aim high to the sky Now you wanna fly so reach the sky Come on, come on I see the world you live, remain so big So come on, come on Come on come on You've got to fly You've got to fly You need to fly You've got to fly You need to fly You've got to fly You've got to fly You've got to fly Love is all around you You know it all And you see it all So come on, come on Now you wanna fly, reach the sky Come on, come on I see the world you live, remain so big So come on, come on Come on come on You've got to fly You've got to fly You've got to fly You've got to fly You need to fly (Love is all) You've got to fly (Love is all) You've got to fly (Love is all) You've got to fly (Love is all) You need to fly (Love is all) You've got to fly (Love is all) You've got to fly (Love is all) You've got to fly (Love is all)
It seems like all of Cast's best known singles are lyrically autobiographical / instructive to others about John Power choosing to leave The La's to get his own songwriting properly heard.
Great song. There's another video like this with a kind of similar sound from the same era but with multiple ufo's flying around the band. Anyone know the song/video?
Cast should have been massive, just so many quality songs. John Powers voice is something special.
Completely agree 👍🏻
They're STILL massive in my house! @@garethdavies9881
The songs on the 3rd album weren't that great people lost interest
He sounds alot like john lennon.
@melgrant7404 that's because he's from Liverpool
I'm just sat here literally smiling at my phone. So many happy memories that will never be lost
And they're still creating new memories. I saw Cast earlier this summer and i'm still buzzing from it!
wow this reminds of me of daughter being born.. me singing you`ve gotta fly whilst she was i.c.u! im in tears listening now..yeah she survived & love her to bits..graduated last year! so proud of her! thanks Cast for Good memories..
One of my favourite tracks along with Fine Times and Walkaway

Watched him supporting Ashcroft last month blew me away brilliant
I turned 18 in 1996 and have always felt that I was born, and was a youth at a really good time.
You were! 👍🏼
Real music for real people.
Still love you after so many years - remembering the german tour with fantastic Heavy Stereo and Gene
Just reminds me of great times, unlike now
Still sounds great I remember this was a stand alone relese at there hight, I have the cassette single still & this had Canter as it's b-side, easily my favourite song of theirs. Psychedelic
Absolutely loved this when I was 12 or13 quality 👍
Love this song .. reminds me of my first job in the 90s
Great gig in Bath last nite, Lads. I am proud to have seen you. You really gave it everything, and it was a poweful experience. 🤩✌
Not heard this song for years, forgotten how good it is,Cheered me up big time
In the part where John appears dressed in a black suit, my eyes became hearts !
One of the top tunes by one of the top bands of the time.
Cast and shed seven r awesome ! X
To be young again......
Sounds like modern day Lennon in this. Cast man what a band, often over looked but not by us real ones. All change in my top 10 albums for sure.

Fun fact. He went to the same primary school as lennon.

Absolute banger!

They did
Saw them last night supporting Liam Gallagher, shame they didn’t do this song, love it.

One of my favourite bands , quality as ALWAYS

Come on come on
You send your message through the air
Receive it loud and clear

Yeah man, I always thought Walkaway was written about his partnership with Lee Mavers.
I'm flying!! Listening to this ... are they touring again soon?
Come on come on

Fucking love Cast
What the hell was the thinking behind this video? Cows, banjos, a food fight, some kind of hookah lounge in a UFO ...
Not to mention a banjo being eaten as well.
Cast ,suede ,sea horses ,ect ALL SPAWNED BY THE SMITHS 🥰😍❤

Cast were like oasis but without the wanker egos.
