I'm only in favor of the original Siberian fox research because it's already uncovered some interesting insights into what genes get expressed and mire prominent through the process of domestication. (If you're getting a "tame" fox it still wouldn't be the same population, they don't actually sell them)
There are 3 genetic variations of wild red foxes in North America. Finn isn't a silver/black because he was raised for the pet trade. Silver/blacks like Reed occur in the wild too. The silver/black fox is genetically more common in Canada and Alaska. All 3 genetic mutations can occur in the same litter (red, cross, and silver)
cutting rebar with bolt cutters is the most insane thing i heard today
I have a special place in my heart for more wary animals like Reid. The two foxes remind me of my cats lol
Im trying to comprehend the idea of wanting an "exotic pet" then also wanting it to just be a dog. Like ?????
People want it for the status symbol. It's 100% a selfish ego thing.
It's so frustrating that people breed foxes for pets when they just want a dog. Are the hundreds of breeds of dogs not enough
Exactly. I'm not even that in to all the animal conservation stuff, but buying a fox when you want a dog is something that I couldn't ever get behind.

Dogs were wild once
And several dogs look enough like foxes to fulfill the want for a fox while still having a domestic
@@bipmcgipbanambalooper2289 yeah and it took hundreds of years for them to be fully domesticated for what we have today
We have wild silver foxes around here in Atlantic Canada. Love what you goys are doing! So inspiring!
