Good story! Humble beginnings for Marriott. I had no idea. Hard work, good values, keen awareness, and vision paid off!

For many years, every Saturday night we would go to the Moorestown Mall in N.J. and eat at the Hot Shoppes cafeteria. After dinner, we would walk the mall for hours. I'm thinking I was one of a very few kids who liked liver, and the Hot Shoppes had great calves liver and onions. I can still taste it. Thanks Memory Mountain for the upload 👍.

I remember the Hot Shoppes in DC and when Marriott owned Bobs Big Boy. Even the fanciest restaurants today are not the same caliber as what Marriott once was.

My VERY FIRST JOB was with BOB'S BIG BOY when it was a part of Marriott Corporation.

I remember my parents taking us to the one on Backlick Rd. in Springfield VA . When it changed to a Bob's Big Boy we continued going . Marriott owned that too . Good food . Great marketing . Great memories . Thanks .

A fascinating story about a restaurant chain that evolved into a hotel chain. 🏨
