The people saying this sounds emotion less make no sense 😭 belting isn’t the only way to show emotion through singing. Y’all tend to forget they’re voice ACTORS and this cover is in character. It’s not about how high they can go, this was a deliberate choice to show how the characters would choose to portray the message of this song.
The song is about giving up, and instead of sounding upset they sound…so done. They sound tired. Toya and kohane sing in a soft sad tone at the chorus while Akito and An sound more done. Like They don’t care anymore…As the lyrics literally say 😭😭 covers aren’t always going to be a carbon copy of the original and they shouldn’t.

pjsk covers of vflower songs are always such a hit or miss😭😭😭 especially because flower is always tuned pretty high pitched that if you’re not singing in a high octave you sound a bit lifeless compared to the original flower vocals, i was really excited for this cover :-( especially knowing akitos vocal range he really couldve made the cover sound rlly good if he was allowed to sing in a higher octaves 😞

Would I love the high notes? Yes. Is this cover still good. Yes. I get the disappointment but covers aren’t meant to always be the exact same as the original. If anything it makes is stand out. I love this cover a lot. Meiko sounds amazing and the amount of love she is getting from her VBS kids is awesome. I actually love how it was always Len but as they mature and grow Meiko now steps in. VBS all the way!

I'm failing to remember any specific examples, but I remember comparing a few sekai covers to their originals and going "woah, the instrumental sounds different."

@@greentothesky no, i dont think so. if you listen to toyas alt vocal of utsuro wo aogu, toya can get very high pitched, and same is true of an and kohane in the majority of their songs. im not sure about akito but considering the seiyuus qre all professionals i imagine they all have a large range. not to mention they were already singing down an octave from the original (obviously. if your voice is able to go as high as flowers you are NOT human)

Okay, hear me out. I heard this first cause of project sekai and ever since I've been obsessed. I searched it up on Spotify and heard the original (for the first time) and it gave off a eerily happy vibe and I knew what this song is about despite not knowing a lot of Japanese nor googling the lyrics' meaning. So, it was kinda off-putting. But I absolutely love both, and I believe they are equally great at portraying the same message but in different ways. It's fascinating how a song sounds totally different when you change some things like the pitch or maybe even the instruments. But at the end of the day, it's the same song ._.

akitos vocals are some of my favorite in the game, even outside pjsk, his VA is very much capable of an amazing range and a very emotive voice, so my expectations was quite frankly high since I thought this song may be a great song for him to showcase his range (I'm not expecting vflower esc high notes, just at least enough to match the energy). it's not bad for say, but personally comparing this to love ka, if prefer love ka way more and that cover in itself is a hit or miss for me

毎回思うけど、こはねと冬弥のハモリが特に綺麗だなと思った。杏や彰人みたいにエッジの効いた声じゃないからこそ柔らかい声色にも激しい声色にも対応できるし、めちゃくちゃ耳に優しい。逆に杏と彰人はかなり特徴的だから盛り上げ上手なんだよね。この2人でワンサビ担当したらかなり盛り上がるだろうからこれもこれで好き。

at 1:00 I think it’s alternating back between Akito and toya for each oyasumi (toya saying it first akito after and repeating), as for who said “okaeri” I’m not entirely sure but it sounds like Akito Meiko and someone else, I’m guessing toya like you put. As someone who didn't heard the song before this cover, but listened to both a lot of times after, I think both the original and the cover are good in their own right. Flower's high pitch makes the song more lively and irritating to the ears(in the best possible way), meanwhile VBS's lower tone makes it more soothing. Which some people might find lifeless. I think An makes it work really well as her voice brings that irritating feeling. Both fits the lyrics of this song, it's just up to people's preferences. I for one listen to both depening on my mood.

Honestly this cover is better than I expected. The worst part is the chorus because it lacks the emotion and oomph a song like this needs. I understand WHY they didn’t go up the octave even though I think VBS has good range and would be able to be handle going high (maybe not as high as Flower but still)

As someone who loves the og of this song, the only problem I really have with it is that the chorus just.. lacks. While in the og, vflower was tuned with high notes to convey emotion (and that’s not possible with a human voice) they just failed to convey emotion in another way in the chorus. But, considering this is pjsekai and the va’s have to keep their voice in character, it isn’t that bad.

*Some* of yall are kinda salty about this cover, so here's my take on this cover. The VBS cover actually complements the virtual singer version in a way. Why? The vflower version sings in a high pitched tone, like its venting everything they've been through. The VBS cover sings in a low pitched tone because its like showing the depressed side of this person, like it sounds very s*icidal. Of course, there's other reasons that people may not like this cover, but this is just my opinion, I hope this helped you appreciate the cover even just a little bit more :)

I really think that they should've made atleast 2 of them sing in a higher pitch, that would've atleast given it some character...
I don't hate it, it's not atrocious, and the lower pitch does sound soothing (abit), but as a fan of the og, this is really underwhelming, to put it simply. I really think they could've done better.
I'm probably biased cause I love the og wayyyy too much tho, lol
Why did they give this song to VBS anyways? I think that N25+Len would sound better for this, and I'd argue that some of the lines actually suit N25.
Prime example:
"Eerie nights I spend with you"
N25 literally works at night, don't you think this suits them better?

I think the VAs tried their best though, and I applaud them for that. This is a "I can sit through this no problem" cover for me. It's not a "omg please change it I hate it" cover, but it's not a "I can play this on loop for 2 hours and not get sick of it". Which is a shame cause the og was a "I love this, I would play this on loop for 5 hours and I wouldn't get sick of it" song
man.. i don't mean to sound like a broken record but this cover would've been way more powerful if the Vivids were the ones to sing the chorus. It just threw me off when I heard the deep version. I'm not entirely against deep covers of songs but the high pitch is what actually makes

i like the loud tone in the original, however i really like this cover. it has a completely different energy but cool.
Imo the og is better but this is great too they sound like their in so much d e s p a i r
