    I'm 51 & owned my 1st Case Trapper 41 years ago. I never bought any Case knives in the 80's,90's. I've heard many bad things. I just received (sight unseen online) a brand new Case Smooth Chestnut bone SS Trapper. I was worried about quality. It is every bit as good as my 70's Trapper. Fit, finish, smooth & strong springs, the blades are perfectly aligned. I sincerely hope Case is on their way (and STAY there) to building the quality they used to. Folks WANT the quality. Please honor ur heritage

      I am 56 and I learned the same lesson. Please try out a new tribal lock knife. Trappers were my favorite.

    I started making slip joint knives a few years ago. And as Tony says "if you going to make pocket knives, you had better have the want toe's" Tony is my hero.

    I just ordered a KA-BAR knife from the factory which have his name on it, I think and I look forward to getting it and trying it out. My grandfather owned many knives and a few of them was Case and I plan on buying one to add to my collection. I also look forward to buying one of the KA-BAR knives which the KA-BAR company made for the Marine Corps during WWII.

    Anyway to get the production quality up? Blade edges that don't feel like sandpaper for example. Collecting a knife that tears paper right out of the box drives me to buy GEC's instead of Case.

    I love Case knives so much but their hard to come by :/

    • @howabouthetruth2157
      @howabouthetruth2157 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Tony Fletch "Case knives are "hard to come by"??? I think this gentleman is highly confused. ( Unless you live in a country where Case isn't imported.) There are very likely more Case factory made knives available for sale at any given time, whether they be brand new from dealers, or new/used on the secondary market.........than all other brands COMBINED. Today, a typical run for just a single Case knife in just 1 handle material is around 3000 units. And runs of 10,000 or more from Case are not that uncommon. Case knives are NOT "hard to come by".............TRUST ME. They are the most collected traditional pocket knife in the world. And Case just don't make their knives as good as they used to, although they are still of a higher quality than the Chinese made, such as Rough Rider. If ya want true quality and value, go for Great Eastern Cutlery. ( And conversely, many of the GEC knives ARE hard to come by.)

    Nowadays CASE is more focused on producing knives for collectors so it makes them out of reach price-wise for the blue collar working man who just wants an inexpensive rugged and dependable working knife.

    • @wizardofahhhs759
      @wizardofahhhs759 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Emerald Lx $50-$90 bucks ain't cheap when there's a lot of people out there who only make minimum wage and have bills to pay.

    • @wizardofahhhs759
      @wizardofahhhs759 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Emerald Lx CASE'S marketing strategy is the reason I collect Böker knives and not CASE.They should focus just as much on what the average customer wants and not just what collectors want.

    my first case knife I bought this week since I last bought them thirty years ago! Never again! You need to fire the guy who sharpens the blades! blade wobble and big gaps! No excuse!
    Cheaper knives do not have this problem not near as much! No excuse they all lie! I owned several during the eighties and nineties and they were not like that! Not worth it!
