How Rockefeller Made Over 600 Billion Dollars

  • For over a century now, the name Rockefeller has been associated with absolute wealth, fame and prestige in equal measure. How does that go again? In the beginning, there was oil; then came the Rockefellers? Okay, it is quite possible that this statement is made up; but the point is that this family is Filthy Rich! And their primary source of wealth is nun-other other than good old black gold as they like to call it, or oil, whichever one you prefer.

      Then buy a crypto currency called Digibyte ( DGB ). It trades for around 0.01 cent . Hold it for 2 years, and you'll reach your millionaire dream.

    There's no coincidence that the richest American ever was a man of God, or a man devoted to his belief, or on these lines. For God blessed this businessman on his journey within the oil industry. Because of a covenant that Rockefeller had with God. But that's not to say that Rockefeller wasn't resourceful, innovative, disciplined, focused, driven, hard working, educated, smart, and any other attribute found in wealthy successful men. But God gave him that edge that his competitors (J. P. Morgan, Andrew Carnegie, and whoever else) didn't have. I mean just look at how old he lived to be along with his wealth. The man was truly blessed.

      Unlike Morgan and Carnegie, Rockafeller engaged in price fixing and the occasional mafia tactics to create a vertically integrated monopoly (90% of domestic refining capacity). Carnegie built a horizontally integrated monopoly (iron and coal mines, railroads, coke and steel mills, etc.) to become so efficient nobody could compete.
      While Rockafeller did try to maximize usage of a barrel of crude, he didn't win the refinery wars by increasing efficiency.
      Business is war without guns, and Rockafeller is the Ghengis Kahn of business - the most successful conqueror ever.

      I think this is a reflection on the concept of one's "God" he was blessed but do we know if it was by a Christian God? Really blessed means to be bestowed something and religion is subjective to time, location and culture. This only brings indirect truth to the "illuminati" conspiracies which are just a poor uninformed persons way of making sense of social networkings we have no insight into.

    I wonder what would have been of rockefeller in a 100% free market, without the federal incentives, war, political influence...
    nice video man, loved the details about his early life!

      He would be toppled down,because he actually used regulated market in illegal ways by collusions and cartels. If said market was 100% deregulated, there was going to be cartels, that were much more influential and would stop the companies growth in the beginning. I get the question you ask, but rockfeller used the infrastructure that forbids cartels in his favor to do exactly that.

    There is a modern company, a very rich one, that does the same thing. Negotiate low price high volume contracts. Then force all would be competitor to work with you to get access to the volume contracts. Then take a piece of the action. Nobody wins but the middleman company. Consumers pay more for less. Quality goes down. Workers get paid less. The only person that wins is the useless middleman. People/companies/governments need to start ignoring bad contracts. Or at least voiding them once it is realized that the contract sucks. Like, OK, you fooled us all, you made $20 billion, enjoy your cash, but now that's over. We can't keep contracts in place that are gutting the country.

    Misleading. At his peak in 1913 after the Supreme Court ruled Standard Oil was a monopoly in restraint of trade his net worth was $900 million. 600 billion is absurd.

    • @normbarrows
      @normbarrows 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      $900 mil in 1913 is supposedly worth 600 Bln today.

    • @HistoricalWonder720
      @HistoricalWonder720 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@normbarrows Exactly I totally agree and recognize that. However what I'm referring to is the title because it's misleading. In no point did he ever make $600 Billion. We know that in todays dollars it equates to 600B, but for people who don't know as much history about this topic they are going to be misled by the title claiming he made $600B, even if they watch the video.

    Yes I have this book at home. I read the first chapter of this book so far. John never failed once as an entrepreneur starting at age 16 according to what I have read. Too bad that isn't true in modern times. His father was an entrepreneur as well. Excellent mentor to his children. John asked his father for an advancement of his allowance to start his business at age 16 if I can recall that right. I'll check again when I get home. I would put the book online for everyone to read but you know those cop-yright infrin-gement laws will get ya.
