"it's just a $10 blaster" is a silly excuse because the X-Shot Reflex is great. Every blaster company is capable of bruh moments, not just Hasbro. I really want the Thundershot to be good but we might need to wait for a third version with a nicer cylinder or cross our fingers that it can survive the spring upgrade needed for darts to clear custom barrels
That’s what I think everyone forgets, every company has their oofs, and CRITICIZING those is what makes companies better, people always think “CANCEL CANCEL CANCEL BAD BAD BAD” when reality, there are many things that go into manufacturing that if left “blind” by the community, it will never improve
Berets off to you Brett for bringing this scenario to light and being honest regarding your experiences with customer service. It's really nice to see Buzz Bee and adventure force helping to fix problems with their blasters. Thank you so much! 💚💙
Do what? Get Brett to take his blaster back to Walmart while they send him the working blaster that they gave to influencers before they released these different and broken ones? Yea. Thank you Buzz Bee. Very cool
As someone who in my professional capacity has been massively screwed by overseas manufacturer duplicity, I can assure you the pandemic is in no way to blame. Though the miscreants did probably hope to shift blame there. Also you don't have to name her. I'm pretty sure I know who that correspondence was from. BB has always been great when I interacted with them.
Want to say, thanks for a balanced approach in the whole situation, it's refreshing to see in the day of over reactions being the norm. Kudos for that! Glad also that you got to see first hand the good interaction that Buzz Bee normally provides, they've been that way over the last few years to me, staying positive even when you provide a critical video review. My only big takeaway outside of the Thundershot and Buzz Bee was that it was indeed a bit of a bummer to see the darker side of the hobby and the fellow foam flinging enthusiasts we share this fun pastime with being less than stellar. Having hate messages sent my way and other content creators making false accusations that their fans took as gospel truths despite having zero proof was quite the bummer. Hopefully everyone gets to see the positives here with a company that actually listens and tries to do the right thing and can see why I'm a fan of them.
Honestly I think the Thundershot is great, and I wish it had never gone through the wringer of international supply chains and public opinion. Every kid I've handed it to has had a good time, and the community has already embraced it with 3d printable upgrades for hobbyists, so aside from a lot of wasted plastic and time, I think it's a win.
I feel the story here is pretty positive. Unlike Hasbro that will just leave broken toys in stores and production, people are getting replies to their emails, and a new revision was put out. This is hella rare for companies to do, especially for entry level toys of all things.
@@Motionnerf As someone who works in stocking at walmart: the stockers tend to not care if it's broken or not. As long as it can be sold, they'll keep it on the shelf, unless it's food or chemicals
Personally I love my thundershot. I got a printed grip kit on it, makes it comfy too. I absolutely get the cylinder thing. I noticed that gap too, and it was giving me a little bit of accuracy issues
I appreciate the video, appreciate that you quite directly called out Buzzbee on the issues with the hammershot, and I appreciate that they're responding to the issue. The complaints people have hurled your way about providing criticism all seem pretty rubbish. However of them the one that bugs me the most is the 'it's only a $10 blaster' argument, as though when you buy a new product you can't expect it to work. I work with a lot of at-risk kids, kids from low income families, and I'm from a low income family myself, and when I hear people make that argument what I hear is that such kids don't deserve working toys. Yes it's cheaper so you can't expect it to be as good a product as something like a nerf hammershot; that's why it's ridiculously bulky and has poor ergonomics and doesn't have as much range and overall looks silly, but the bloody thing should work! Imagine this was the only gift a kid got for their birthday, and they were excited to be able to play with their friends who have Fortnite blasters, but when they take it out of the box it's already broken. That's not good enough. It's honestly great to hear that Buzzbee and Adventure Force are responding to the issue. I hope Walmart have also notified customers with loyalty cards who have bought the blaster of the issue and told them to come into store for a replacement.
I’m using most of a Thundershot (different handle) as the basis for a gunblade. Mine has a black linkage that performs the function of catching and releasing the hammer, and seems to be more robust than the mechanism you showed us. From what I could find, the version I got was supposed to be shipped out, and the mechanism in the one that broke on you was a previous iteration, and not supposed to be shipped out. Don’t remember sources though, so giant grain of salt.
I was at a local Walmart yesterday and they had the good version. I have not yet mentally committed to buying one but I sort of want to get one and use Onionbro's (I think that's the name) 3d printed parts.
Update: at my nearest Walmart they replaced all of the stock with updated models , guess they waited until they got the new inventory to take down the defective products
I got two of these after the trigger fix, that don't have the weird missing barrels like yours. They still have performance issues; they shoot with all the irregular power of a wet fart. I might be able to fix this if I took them apart and played around with the seals, but that might not help. For a $10 blaster that is still going to be incredibly uncomfortable to use when all is said and done, they're very disappointing. I know there's a 3D printed grip that makes them more comfortable, but that's more trouble and expense to fix a bad blaster.
Good luck getting the same communication from Hasbro that people have gotten from Buzz Bee. It's possible that they've fixed the breaking issues in the year since release but I'm certainly not in a rush to go and find out
Its really cool they did that. Wasnt gonna get it cuz..its just buttugly...and the cylinder difference is most likely price point.. more plastic or more expensive plastic equals deleting some from somewhere and thats most likely the "best" place to put less...It.Is.Only. $10....
Should I get nerf rival from blaster time cause I'm in Europe so everything outside Europe is a no go but the blasters are overpriced what should I do?
I know this is wayyyyyyyy off topic but maybe you can answer this...why doesn't X-shot make anything motorized???? I mean they have the money to I'm sure!! Just curious if you might know??
Mans thunder shot literally went farther when he threw than when he used it as intended, *WOW,* Buzz Bee has really gone down the toilet, huh? It’s pretty sad too. I used to think buzz be was awesome. I still kinda like them, but, eh.
because in the second chapter you showed different clips of the thundershot and the tetrashot, and to a 2 year old with no brain, they think it's a part of one clip.
Does this make the Thundershot any better? Absolutely not Now nobody will bother to buy one as the reviews have already been published, and opinions are formed. Even if the internals are fixed, the issue with the ergo still stands
This shows that Buzz Bee is a bit more responsive and better customer service than we in the hobby were starting to think.
That's literally after many reviewers and regular customers called them out for their bs.
@@quantran6236 And? Hasbro would probably do a lot less.

I do think it's important for creators to keep repeating the "check the prime mech before you buy" bit so that more people hear it.
Hello Bert, I'm (ro)Bert
I love my Thundershot! The difference in barrel helps fire short darts.
Good for you, interesting that the barrel helps fire other than hinder it

I’ve been to a few different Walmart’s in Ontario Canada - all have defective units on shelves still , even saw one on the shelf already broken lol
Well that's not great.
Can confirm, went to 5 different Walmarts here in Edmonton Alberta. All had defective units and I found a broken one on the shelf as well.
@TokuToonGal from my understanding they took them off shelves in the US pretty quick, here they havent bothered lol
@TokuToonGal yeah definitely, just a little sketchy they didn’t take down the defective units here

They are hard to find around me. Did find them in a store up around Cleveland but they had both the old ones and the new ones on the same shelf.
Update: at my nearest Walmart they replaced all of the stock with updated models , guess they waited until they got the new inventory to take down the defective products
At price point I am not expecting a lot of performance but I am expecting it not to break so easily.
Buzz bee actually cares for there customers

mine is still working but i think it's losing power now what can i do
at least the newer one might be earier to brass breach?
Gonna buy one if this reaches the Philippines and mod it to look like TF2 Spy's Ambassador.
The chrono results are just like the hammershot, right?
Yes this version has similar performance to the Nerf Hammershot.
At least they are trying. Now...will we ever have new, semi-usable wardens?
Another fascinating blaster that I need to get my hands on. Would be interesting to evaluate a year after its initial release.
@@beretnarf Do it!

I have had a similar breaking issue with a double shot
However, it took a few months of heavy use, and this has an excuse for being like that, as the Plastic quality is good and it is large for $10

Should I get nerf rival from blaster time cause I'm in Europe so everything outside Europe is a no go but the blasters are overpriced what should I do?
Still have not seen these in spokane yet. If you wanted to really use the new one is it possible to swap cylinders with the broken one?
Next, Buzzbee III, The Return of The Tetrashot.
Buzz 3 Bee: Revenge of the REEEEE

the broken one has skittles in it.
My Walmart still has the bad ones
Could you swap out the old cylinder into the newew blaster?
That should be possible if you prefer the old cylinder to the new one.
This blaster will fire shorts in it stock form
"The Broken One" is the best name for a blaster ever (what a waste on that thing...)
They're still carrying the defective model at my Walmart lol
Now that's a big iron
That looks like a British paratroopers beret!?!?
If only Buzz 🅱️ revises the ergonomics on the grip

So if its the pandemics fault, then it's the reason why nerf elite 2.0 kinda sucks not nerf or nerf off brands fault, it's the pandemics
The pandemic is certainly part of it, but it's not the only reason for why these blasters are the way they are.

It makes the thundershot "an option". An ergonomic mess of an option but yes that's well documented up to this point.
