John Travolta may have played a number of villains over the years and lots of great ones as well including this one. But you gotta admit it. In this movie, yes, his character deserved to die. Not just because of what he did, but because he was a very possessive evil man with a black heart. Well his wife was the one who wanted the entire family wiped out. So yeah, she got what she deserved too. Technically speaking, as evil as all the bad guys in this movie were, it's like they were demons who escaped from hell and the punisher had to send them back to hell where they belong. Which is how saint dies here. The punisher practically opened a doorway to hell that swallowed saint.
Those, who do the evil to others - killers, rapists, sadists, psychos - you'll know me well soon enough. I'm not here to judge, i'm here to punish you for every innocent soul you've destroyed, for every innocent life you've have took. The man, who called himself Frank Castle, is dead. My name is the Punisher, i don't ask for quarter, and i don't give no quarter. Get ready for your punishment!
If this was played in Jon Bernthal's Punisher series, and he citing Jane's lines, I will NEVER forget that. That will be the greatest homage to Thomas Jane's Punisher.
If Jon Bernthal was a good actor and a good Punisher, if the series was worth something besides 5 action scenes, if the 2008 Punisher had a good direction and a better budget... If only we had a sequel to the only real Punisher. Dirty Laundry is not enough.
I've got a Punisher in me the only difference is my skull is more of the grim reaper and plus there's a lot more supernatural elements in me then anything else.
That’s what I was about to say! It’s so fucking epically western haha! Especially how he quick draws on Travolta like a bad ass! And what happens after... That was Way More epic than his death in Pulp Fiction 😂
I think Thomas Jane’s portrayal version of the punisher was definitely dark but in moments though he was vulnerable and still had a sense of humanity. I really love Bernthal’s version as well but he was a killing machine and he could be vulnerable in different moments but he could be ruthless and emotionless.
I think this movie brings about what the "Punisher" would have been in real life, the characters are so real, they look and talk real. War zone was shit, none of it felt real, the villian looked like a comic bad villian. However Howard Saint in this movie is what an actual Villian would have been like, as a villian he kinda looks like a normal guy who's trying to make more money, more power, more guns and he just gives out orders. The punisher in this movie has a lot of "Humanity" inside of him, if a real punisher would be real, he would be like this. It's called bringing a character to life, which this movie did great.
Mi top: 1. The Punisher 2004 (Thomas Jane) 2. The Punisher 1989 (Dolph Lundgren/Iván Dragó en Rocky 4) 3. The Punisher: War Zone (la pongo acá por descarte dado que todavía no la pude ver pero sería difícil destronar a Thomas Jane y a Dolph Lundgren)
Imagine this at the civil war movie: everyone thinks spider-man it's dead, as in the comics, there is everyone sad about it... but then this masterpiece starts and there comes the punisher walking with spider-man on his arms (no homo :v ) as in the comics
The scene where it pans to an overhead view of the destroyed cars and it shows the skull in the flames felt like a final panel to a Punisher comic, it was great
Leroy Sinclair I refused to watch Warzone for a long time but I liked it when I finally did idk what my problem was. Dolph did his thing but he was the weakest Punisher imo even though the movie was pretty ok. Jon’s probably the most well rounded and def the fan favorite but TJ will always be Frank Castle to me.

SHIT........Warzone was a fucking insult. All it had in it was an array of "F bombs". Frank Castle wasn't a tactician in that movie he was just a brute. In the comics he was both a brute and a tactician. Also the creation of JIGSAW was laughable considering he wasn't a spoiled rich mafia man. He was a goddamn mercenary type assassin. With similar training to The Punisher. This Jigsaw they created was a panty waste pansy ass. Definitely a hunk of utter bullshit nonsense that should've never been.
Hence WHY Thomas Jane, IMO the BEST Punisher, dropped out since the studio wanted to do something disastrously different with that "second" film, and instead decided to reboot the series into a full blown foul Sin City rip-off, which is NOT how Punisher' world was, no, IS portrayed in the comics. In conclusion, 2004 Punisher captured the world and tragedy of Frank Castle perfectly in my eyes. Netflix show is okay. Ohh, and Dolph Lundgren made a mean intimidating and underappreciated Punisher.
TheSuperReviewer Exactly my thoughts, that’s why I don’t have a bad critic on Punisher films, this is why I don’t like a continuation of it since Marvel become “Woke”, they already ruined Spiderman with their stupid “Diversity” propaganda
