Am I the only one who watches these at night as a form of “end of the day” meditation and find myself peacefully falling to sleep? There’s a gentle patience about this man that I find fascinating. Huge Fan right here!
Pues, no eres el único. Veo sus videos en las noches para dormir porque me dan paz y relaja mi mente. Gracias por compartir tus videos. Saludos desde Venezuela! Well, you're not the only one. I watch your videos at night to sleep because they give me peace and relax my mind. Thanks for sharing your videos. Greetings from Venezuela!
I love how he does everything with handmade, self made knives and axe ; whereas others do much less with overly expensive tools that in total cost more than everything he carries. I love seeing a master practice his/her craft.
This has inspired me to do more solo camping. The tranquility and peace is priceless. Thank you Rune for this beautiful display of not only photography as ever clip is perfection but also the wonder and enjoyment of being with nature.
Thank you Rune Thank you for offering to accompany you in your simple, healthy, precious and sacred way of life. Feeding a vegetarian is easier in the wild. Thank you for all your videos.
You sir, are like the Almazan Kitchen of bushcraft and blacksmiths. There’s something tranquil and serene within the chaos of fire, iron, and chopping of wood, something that you capture beautifully. Videos like this makes me want to sell everything, quit my job and do what you do. But I probably wouldn’t last a few days. You’ve honed and refined a skill, a lifestyle that for someone like me would take a long time to acquire. This is one of your finest videos. Thanks for making them.
I so miss camping in wilderness with only nature. In my home country we would go almost every weekend. I since moved to a country that is basically one big city and very little wilderness and always hearing nearby traffic when going to woodland. I so miss nature and that life. I hope to be returning home next year! These videos offer some of that peace in a virtual setting :)
Good work, Sir. You have a strong back. I have enjoyed the variety of tents, tools and skills you bring to your videos; but, the best part for me is your silence as you go about your chores. I go camping by myself too. The natural sounds are my company, the nature my entertainment. Thank you for sharing. Texas
Hello from Russia, Rune! Im realy enjoying watching your videos. Это все что я могу сказать на английском))) Твои видео вызывают у меня чувство спокойствия и умиротворения, а так же понимание того, что дикий мир на самом деле здесь, внутри городов и поселений, а не там, в лесу, в самом центре природы. Thank you.
Winter forest - booming, like shots, croaking crows, snow from a spruce branch that fell by the collar, tracks in which the bottom is not visible, steam from wet mittens and parallel, now and then intersecting curves of ski tracks; spring forest - the smell of black, still frozen earth, flowing in all directions, choking with melt water, a stream, a thin white strip of skin blue from the cold between a sweater and jeans, and on it large pimples that can only be melted with lips; summer forest - hot drops of golden resin on copper bark, hair smelling of barbecue smoke, a white, daisy-covered sundress stained with dry red wine and a tickling pine needle that you can’t get at all if you don’t unbutton two thousand small, like ladybugs, buttons , rapidly spreading under the fingers along the back and chest.
I am very very grateful that you do not put commercials in between the video (unlike some other people). When I see it in other videos I immediately unsubscribe and don’t watch their videos anymore. It is art what you do 😊 and by now helping almost 1 million people to relax.
The amazing calm you have amazes and calms me! I mean, you do everything slowly and with a steady hand, no stress, no irritation or sense of time or anything. It amazes me and make me very sleepy! (almost feel asleep like twice! Wasnt boring though, but the lack of "important" sounds, with the calming sounds of nature, combined with your calm and slow/steady ways of doing things was... soothing!). I find handcrafting, bushcraft, cooking and the like very fachinating (and do similar things myself), I truly believe you have found the true happiness in your life!
The thing I love about ur vids is that no one knows what your about to make next.. I love the anticipation.... Also the the quiet... You never interfere with nature... Your like a tree in the forest... Bending with the wind... Hope ur new blacksmiths workshop is going well no doubt
Omg ! As I look at your cooking 😉 I get so hungry are u a chef ? 😉..U look so relaxed and at peace enjoying every minute of it no hurry to go back to civilization !! Amazing 👌 thank u for taking me into that place of serenity! OF COURSE AT THE COMFORT OF MY HOME 😁❤️
Your are an artist the amount of effort and full thought you put into your actions is hypnotizing I truly am inspired with every video you put out please never stop

A big 'thumbs up' from me. I'm a pretty harsh critic of some people who make this type of vid as so many of them, to me anyway, seem to be somebody who has watched a few bushcraft vids, gone out and bought all the flash gear and gadgets, and suddenly they've become an expert. However, they are easily identified for what they are through their obvious inexperience, although some 'city-slicker' plebs might think that they are wonderful. This bloke though, just 'oozes' experience and it comes through in his vids. Sensible tent, gear and practices etc....congratulations on a well made and informative vid.
I discovered your channel recently, it really helps me to mentally escape to the forest in these times of quarantine. Thanks my friend for making these vidos, I send you a hug from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
How could somebody 👎 this ? Good work I enjoy your content very much . it's peaceful and relaxing after a crazy day working 11 hours in the busy city . Making me wish I was up North in the woods alone . ✌
Anybody that go in the woods with no fear at all and do what you do, is amazing and really brave. These videos are awesome and alot to learn from. Also very very relaxing sounds just lovely. Thanks for your God given skills and talent. One day we all might have to go back to the wood. That's why we all need to learn how to survive in nature. Everybody trying to go vegan which is beautiful, but you dont know what will happen when food get scarce, folks will have to hunt to eat litterly. I just found you too.
Только тебя нашёл( один поймёшь, что я напишу, они все ИНОСТРАНЦЫ) как думаешь, правильно он поступает, одев красивые варежки для работы с деревом, и делая все это без шапки, но в варежках?)))
Thank you !!! Very an interesting the film, very the beautiful nature, North !!! And we still have a lot of snow !))) Greetings from Russia !!! The axe curious !)))
My best friend took his life last monday, we use to do trip like this.. thanks for relaxing video. When i got some power back i Will go to our place for e few days Just to remember.
Rune, thanks. I've learned so much from you. You make it all look so easy and effortless. The economy of motion to accomplish tasks. Simple exceptional tools. The Silence...treasured! The axes are remarkable. Really enjoy this channel.
I am a new subscriber to your videos Rune, and I marvel at your methods of conveying to your viewers everything they need to know about what you are doing and how you have worked out your methods of building things to suit the environment in which you are camping. The methods are time honored but the presentation you make without speaking one word is astounding to me. Full sound videos with no human sound other than the sounds of movement and those of your surroundings is difficult to pull off without boring those who are accustomed to HEARING the action and taking a passive role in having everything explained to them instead of viewing what is happening in front of them in an active role as the viewer. It causes the viewer to PARTICIPATE actively [in their mind] in the story you are "telling". I have too many questions at this point to be able to ask them before I view all of your videos and see if they are answered somewhere in the stories you are showing to your viewers. I have been an active hiker, camper, water traveler by both canoe and kayak, and general outdoors person for most of my life and now, in my waning years, I find that I still have so much to learn about other people's methods and how they conquer the many trials in coping with wilderness needs that we have all encountered in our travels. You do such an ample job of visual education of your viewers that I hope and desire to see more of these types of videos started by others of like interests in camping and the outdoors in the future. This is such a refreshing mode of learning for me and so visually captivating that I will always remember the 1st video I watched of your winter camping when you had a light snowfall and built a carving table. Keep up the excellent work and you will become a legend in your generation for doing what you are doing in nature and helping others to SEE what most outdoors people cannot convey with WORDS about their feelings and their surroundings. I find so much satisfaction and a calming of my soul in the sights and sounds and experiences of the forest that I could never even TRY to tell others of what I see and hear and feel. But, I see and feel and "hear" your reactions to your environment in your video work and that, my young friend, is a trait that is very rare ........

not only what he is doing is incredible and takes time.. but if you stop and think about how the video is made every time theres a new angle that means he moved the camera, every time hes walking off to the distance he had to walk back grab the camera and change angle.. or in the beginning of the video when he takes his gloves off like how did the angle change? unbelievable editing man LOVE your videos
Thank you for yet another excellent video. I appreciate that you include information about the location, weather conditions and the gear you use. Thanks for sharing.
God I love this guy, I live in southern Ontario , there’s nowhere here we can camp in the wild.. I can go 8 hours drive north but then there’s black bears everywhere , scares the shit out of me
It's sad that you can't find a place to camp in all that Canadian wilderness . I have 2,230 acres in New Mexico surrounded by national forest . There are bear , mountain lions , elk , deer and plenty of rattlesnakes which have started to come out and get sun on the rocks . Very mild winter . All the best to you Jeff .
Sounds like a great place you have.. I’m in the southern part of Ontario, the crown land free for camping doesn’t start for 8 hours drive north of here.. then it’s everywhere
Ay bud! Got another Canadian! In Alberta we have issues with cougars and other beasties but you are usually fine if you take care of hiding your food away from camp.
Hello. I watch your movies, I like your carpentry work, and the high chair assembled from branches, you are good at its simplicity of creation and convenience of use. I swim with collages on Masurian lakes in Poland and we always try to sleep in forested areas. In September 2018, we camped in the Piska Forest, at night, as my friend said, a wolf came to us. Both my friend and I spent the night on foam pads under a suspended, waterproof sheet. The wolves are completely protected and no one hunts them, so they are not afraid of humans, and they are intelligent and curious animals. Sorry, where’s the cold weather? Did you even watch the video? He’s probably sweating in that woolly jumper.
This gentleman has seriously mad outdoors skills. He is at the Master level.
This quickly became one of my favorite channels. I like the simplicity of the videos, just a man in the woods enjoying nature.
