Jungkook said the "never let go" repeated chorus part is long because he actually tailored that part for a house dance performance. But he didn't had enough time to record the performance before going to military. He was taking house dance lessons back in 2022. It'd have been more amazing to see the performance aswell but still it's so good. Love how these festa songs are these unhinged outlets for his creative freedom We got a jazz-lofi hit SWY, lyrics from our wv messages My You and now a hyperpop fused pop track because he got inspired from a sample... he's so UNPREDICTABLE and I love that.
I also read in my travels that in verse 1 where Jungkook says "Never Let Go" he says it 11xs representing BTS' 11th Anniversary and in verse 2 he says "Never Let Go" 12xs representing next year with BTS.

Then JK's message on Weverse was so endearing - this song to us just makes me smile and dance. I missed JK's voice so much! He wanted to know if we liked it and mentioned that he had wanted to do a house dance performance to it, but ran out of time. I have to be honest i love all JK previous releases, but this one is weak by comparison. The chorus is maddening and the vocal talents of JK have been completely wasted on this song.
Personally, I found this song a waste of JK's vocals and just a bland generic house dance song, where he hits none of his signature high notes in falsetto. Jk states that his repetition line "never let go" was to facilitate the house dance feel. So just dance and be uninspired. The repetition also sound like filler, as this song feels unfinished, rushed and put together! Yes, I know this was his last work before enlisting, but Jimin put together Closer Than This, a truly beautiful love letter to Armys around the world!!!!! I expected so much more from the JK!!!!! I'm not going to fawn all over a song just because it's from JK of BTS!!!!
When I think of inspirational lines in songs, I look to Suga's Agust D's 18 line repetition "everything will be okay" from Snooze!!!!! Maybe JK needed a bit of Suga influence in pulling the lyrics together to make a tighter more finished sounding song!
