So, Lara once said during an interview the history behind her recording this song. The director of the movie himself called her and asked her if she would like to meet Mr. Williams (the conductor) in Boston and participate of a kind of "test" to see if they would match. Then, she decided to go meet him. A week later she eas in Boston and Mr. Williams invited her to a small theater there where he had a small team helping him. He gave the score to her and asked her to study it ("just take your time, Mrs. Fabian"). She took few minutes to do it. Then she asked him to start the test, which he did. She said "Thanks to my dad who putt me at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels for 10 years and my love for music, I am able to read the score easily, when I started to sing, he looked at me and said it loud "OK. STOP!" I got a bit nervous. Then he said "we have our interpreteur. Mrs. Fabian, you're the one."
She did sang the original in the movie. John Williams and Spielberg where looking for a female singer for the song. After multiple try outs , Lara came in for a audition, Williams gave her a sheet of music with the Lyrics and gave a hour so she could practice the song. She look at it for a second or two and said, no no I’m good let’s go. They had found their singer.
The orchestra conductor here is the great John Williams, the composer of this song and all musics from Spielberg’s movies. This is not a cover: this is the original. In A.I. soundtrack album, there is a solo version by Lara and this duet version with Josh. I prefer the first one 😂 Josh met Lara for this album recording and they became good friends. They made several other duets, and he covered her Broken Vow masterpiece. Lara has played in a couple movies😅 She had a cameo in the Hollywood movie « De-Lovely », in 2004, about the life of Cole Porter and with Kevin Kline and Ashley Judd in the lead roles. And in 2022 she had a short but key role, and a nude scene 😱, in the Quebec movie "Arlette".

For Always was the closing song of the movie and was performed by Lara & Josh as the credits rolled by... That's probably why you don't remember the song...not everyone watches the credits!

Lara Fabian is one of the best duet singers I have ever seen. She gives her partner space, complements him and thus carries him upwards. She has an incredibly good feel for the moment and never pushes herself forward. Really beautiful. 🫶
Hi to both of you, I'm really happy that you came back to Lara with this Duo with Josh Groban. This rendition is absolutely beautiful and these two voices fit together so well! I recently rewatched the film but unfortunately the song doesn't appear anywhere, not even at the end during the credits. However, Lara is indeed the main performer in the soundtrack of the film IA composed by John Williams. Steven Spielbert didn't want a song for the film but John convinced him to do it, at least for the promotion of the film.... Subsequently, John also asked Josh to do this song hence ultimately the duo. Lara did another movie song, Final Fantasy "The Dream Within". On the day of this show, Lara performed wonderfully a song by Barbra Steisand who couldn't make it and replaced her at short notice and performed the song "Evergreen". I recommend it to you for your next reaction. As for Mike, let him be reassured, he is not alone in being captivated by Lara, all men are and even today she remains magnetic!!!

Josh Groban is a fantastic singer and has loads of great songs. He can do pop to opera. You should listen to him sing 'The Prayer' with Celine Dion, 'You Raise Me Up', 'You're Still You', To Where You Are', I Believe When I fall I love and especially 'O Holly Night' which is the best version of this hymn I have ever heard. He stood in when he was 17 for Andrea Bocelli who could not get to the rehearsal with Celine Dion for 'The Prayer'. He has sung with lots of women.

The duet was with the amazing singer Bruno Pelletier, Lara and him have been singing together since earlier 1990's. I hope you gonna like it.
