Yes absolutely right. I learnt driving and went to RTO office of my city for license. There was no driving test or anything. Not even some basic questions if not practical. All they did was sign me up for a lecture from some traffic police officer and boom there you have your license.

I live in a city, there is someone digging the roads for pipeline every day here, and every time they do that there will be a new speed breaker. This is because of poor planning and little coordination between the two organizations, since both are government agencies, this isn't gonna stop any time soon

@@Real982ax I have lived in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mysore but this never changes always happens wherever I go. If you ask they say, city expansion, maintenance. I'm not against it, all I'm saying is a little planning and coordination between other government agencies would solve the issue. More contracts means more money so I don't think that would ever happen
i was riding my bike on Mumbai - Pune expressway at 110-120 kmph at 2AM and speed limit of the road is 80KMPH, i thought nothingsgonna happen and those cameras still took my numberplate's photos and Maharashtra traffic police sent me challan of 2000rs at my email. damn that's impressive.
How do you even manage to have a speed like that? In Bangalore-Mysore Expressway, the legal speed is 100kmph but i have never been able to maintain that constant speed due to trucks obstructing all the lanes, pedestrians crossing, motorcycles, cars are lane hogging etc etc.
Pedestrians, cycles, motorcycles should not be allowed in highways but for some reason in india, they are.

AS A CIVIL ENGINEER i can say india is still performing underwhelming in infrastructure but the propaganda blinding our people, we are soo dumb in urban planning and drainage system. indias 2 tier cities are so dull and shit you cant imagine. but we are busy in bootlicking gadakari like he is doing charity with his own money
You guys are insane at catching trends… since past 2-3 days my IG feed was full of indian roads and pipeline issue and today they released a video on the same. As always amazing content
My brother is a PWD contractor, before starting his business he bought on emi a JCB, a Roller, two mini trucks, one 6wheel mid size Tripper, testing equipments and other miscellaneous stuff. He got a manager for the construction site and three drivers on a monthly payroll. This is just the initial investment, then to make sure he gets the tender he had to pay 1% of Bill value to a guy working in PWD dept, 1.5% to the Chief Engineer, 2% to the local MLA and another 2.5-3.5% to upper level CM, PWD minister (probably) else he won't get his bill passed. He has to travel to the capital city every two months. The govt keeps 10% of your bill as a security money for 3-5 years. Within that time period if anything happens to the road it will be compensated from the security money. Now like any other contractor in India, he also try to cut corners by using cheap material & also to compensate for the bribe that he has given.
From here you can guess the quality of the finished road. This is the reality in almost all the states.
Also you have to bribe the quality inspection guy even if you have built the best road in the world, they are never satisfied, he'll find something if you don't give him his share of cream.
So your brother starts making poor quality roads which can endanger the life of a common person because he is not able to make a good profit from a contract. Good for you. Your family must really be proud of earning their livelihood like this.

Also govt needs to invest in AI cameras all around it’s NH roads at least so that if anyone breaks the rules is immediately caught and charged hefty amount. That and making getting DL more difficult are the only way Govt can solve this problem

They should deduct fines from drivers directly from bank account of driver. They do that in UAE, you get fined 800aed for Goin 10kmph over speed limit

When your social credit score is low. Everybody using the vision glasses will see a red mark on you meaning that you are a disobedient citizen. So your freedom is fukked up in the society as well. The social credits system will be controlled by the govt and the govt wants obedient citizens. If u raise your voice against the govt anywhere, ur fukked again! as they are constantly watching ur moves..!

I tried googling this, one website that bitumen and asphalt is the same, another website says that bitumen and sand is called asphalt, another website says that bituminous concrete is asphalt. Please make a video on How Bakrid helps the rural economy of India. It contributes almost 10 billion dollars to the gdp every year. Lot of people will make hate videos. You kindly make a positive video on circular economy. As money trickles down from rich to poor during festivals.
Good work save for the last part. Speeding is not the problem. Infact its easy to blame it at that and end the topic. The dichotomy of speed on the highway is. Driving discipline is the primary culprit. People need to be trained about the discipline in driving and its importance. Driving tests need to be much more stringent and people must be trained to handle vehicle at higher speeds. The current driving tests are laughable to say the least where one is only driving in a straight line for 5 minutes at 20kmph on an isolated road.
Fatalities are also down to unsafe vehicles plying on the roads as well as unsafe parameters during road construction like flyovers. There needs to be a safety framework exercised which is on par with worldwide standards. This is extremely expensive so the government (any government, not just this one) blames it on speeds and thinks the public will take the matter to be solved.

An Internal news : any person who get an government contracts has to give about 35%(approx may be more or less depending upon government and contract size or type) to concern minister and gov. Employee. This has to be assured or otherwise you're tender will be regected no matter how good your work or experience is.
half of the highways/expressways that were made in the last 5 years are nowadays full of bumps and potholes and you say the corruption isn't the main cause honestly seems a little weird tbh.
@@johnyepthomi892 Yeah it would be beneficial for us, not them na they make poor quality roads so they can earn more and more through repair works while also eating away all the budget allocated by providing third class quality this is the major problem of corruption and nobody bats an eye over it. also yeah i have been a sub to this channel since 18/20k but nowadays it really seems their content is a bit biased and in favour of the dictator's govt that's ruling over right now.

@@amithabv1060 for starters delhi meerut, DND flyway, Bengaluru - mysuru, yamuna expressway are full of bumps and uneven fixed patches of road which seriously hampers high speed driving and DND entry is basically a little bit of road among the potholes. These few are the one's i have travelled many times recently and that's why i commented also there are reports that the newly opened delhi mumbai expressway just after 4months got a flyover part crumbling and concrete falling off 🤷🏻♂️

They highlight the reasons for many road deaths in India. Also, I want to point out that there should be a hospital at least near any road. You never know if a person has sudden complications and needs to reach a hospital under 10 min or less. I love their content. Highly support you and your team. They should at least make another channel called Aevy Tv: Behind the scenes. But I like your channel and I love the fact that these guys don't leave out any important message to tell and present all the truths.

it's not only fast moving vehicles that cause accidents. It's also the slow moving ones. I've seen many vehicles going at 40kmph or below in the highway. And some of these idiots don't use turn signals when switching the lane.

I think you said it, asphalt does not last long, but cement went done wrong also undergo wear and tear, I lived in Indore for 6 yrs and all the gullys are made via cement and frankly many times, the poth hole is deep that the underneath rocks are visible. Once I fell on that underneath rock while riding my cycle, that was painful, plus the riding experience is not smooth ,atleast those road in cement. In comparison, a damar/bitumen/asphalt road ride experience is smooth atleast when I am on a bicycle

Hi from where I come from here the rains are heavy and most of the deterioration of the of the roads happens due to poor drainage system.
Secondly asphalt roads are recyclable as the material from old roads is extracted remixed with fresh bitumen and laid again unfortunately this is not happening in at our country ( atleast in my town)

Yesterday I went around 15km away from my house to buy something and throughout the way I kept complaining about the roads and the drivers and how they don't give indicators while turning and how road has only single lane space for driving as one side is completely occupied by shops, stalls, bike & cars parked

Well it's very normal in India in my City Rewa which is located in the state of Madhya Pradesh and in other cities also this kind of problem normal pedestrian and other riders/driver face everyday....
Every sidewalk is captured by local shops or hawkers.
Nothing is corrupt when it comes to infrastructure projects in India. Blame it on nature. The authorities are doing a great job.

Actually, that's what many do. They drive in their own lanes rather than those marked on the roads. Worse, they drive lost in their own worlds, usually on the mobile.

Govt ignores the rural roads as it doesn't contribute more to economy but rural roads have the most impact on agricultural sector and labour sector. Bad conditions in rural roads increases fuel consumption of goods carriage vehicle as a result agricultural products become expensive as well.
I still remember during some elections in Rajasthan, some politician was boasting about how Rajasthan has the most number of roads than any other state and I thought what a dumb guy, Rajasthan is one of the largest states so obviously it will have more roads 🧠

My town roads were on cycle of digging and reconstruction for 4 years. And the road connecting my house to station which was built by central government for a project (which was later cancelled) got digged up and replaced with municipality made low quality one

Catchy phrases and speed limiters won't work. Speed limiters came in 2018 for the taxi segment, not for personal vehicles. Owners of commercial or taxi vehicles remove speed limiters once the vehicle is certain miles or kms on the vehicle. Deaths can be reduced if heavy fines and education of road safety are imposed. Political leaders love to control Rural india. The thing is why people not going after their chosen leaders for road safety.

I just discovered your channel and have been watching all the videos on topics I am interested in. Just a suggestion for the next video, Electric cars progress, as do charging stations and other necessary infrastructure in India. I say this because the EVs and AI is something would let india in develop even faster and I have searched TH-cam, but no one has covered it so far. Also, I think it would be the right time since Tesla has announced its intentions to do business in India. I do watch a lot of videos of this sort and do my research intensively before I get an opinion on a certain topic, so if there's anything I could do to help, do let me know.

City roads are State Issues. But it is spread across India. A common issue. Corrupts make road then dig it for pipeline or other nuisance. This is happening through years. National Issue now. State's power on road construction should be curbed and a national decision should be made. We have roads which look like roads before independence.
The sheer number of cars in a metro makes road hell! Recently went to Singapore and uncovered an amazing insight.
Story: Landed at Changi Airport, the distance between Airport to my hotel 20KM. The cab covered that in 18 mins at a speed of 120km/h because there was no traffic and road was super fine, imagine this in Bangalore or Mumbai 20km will take 1 hour 30 mins at the minimum
How they do it?: They control the number of cars on the road
How? They issue entitlement license for every new car, the cost of the license is 100k, so if you buy a car worth 100k you need to buy a entitlement certificate at 100k, so total is 200k, this discourages lot of people from. buying a car and encourage them to use public transport, also the entitlement certificate expires in the 11th year and they have a quota, meaning only allow a certain number of entitlement licenses to be active at one point.
Yes , Why are we so obsessed with cars and most of us buy them with Emi.. If we strengthen our public transport ,the limit number of Cars on the road. Our pollution in major cities would reduce too cause it would mean vehicular emission from these vehicles are gone.

Main issue with concrete roads is they don't suck in rain water like normal thar roads. Which leads to less ground water and makes a mess when there is a heavy rains

In our colony we have very fine roads no holes smooth plan roads but in in summer roads completely destroyed in name of water pipe line now in rain session situation get worse water in patholes,holes etc

This is probably India's biggest issue. If you count hygiene and poverty, this comes next. Hygiene and poverty will develop soon or later, and that is the least of my concerns, but Indian roads NEED to improve. Come on guys, it's 2023. I'm glad that Aevy brought this topic up because the road infrastucture in India still has a LOT to improve on. There are potholes every like 100 feet you travel on the roads, and the traffic. The traffic is not maintained at all. But at the same time, I can't blame India because India has so much population that traffic is pretty much impossible to improve, and some obvious changes have actually improved traffic, for instance, the METRO system. METRO introduced another way of transportation and makes it a lot easier to travel a lot quicker. There are solutions out there to these huge problems, but India needs to take action to actually improve the nation.

We lack lane discipline. Speed is not always the culprit (infact i propose increasing the limit on highways). Lane discipline, wrong side overtaking and defective vehicle lights, bad lighting on roads and the worst part unorganized and poorly designed roads and the markings. Also cant blame everything on Government, well their job is to provide us better designed functional roads and infra and sensible rules to be strictly implemented and its our job to follow them. Chalta hai, tu jantha hai mein kaun hun, abhi bulata hun type of BS attitude chodna padega.
Tarmac is better than cement roads in terms of safety because u get better breaking and better handling on tarmac , also speed is not the problem cars in European or Western countries ply at much higher speeds but fatalities are less because they follow discipline.
