For those doing it as watching this & needing to avoid all of the talking, steps below-
Phase 1:
Mudslap x3
Amnesia x1
Bulk Up x6
Terastalize and use Leech Life
Phase 2:
Mud Slap x6 (healing with Leech Life as needed if necessary)
Leech Life until you've taken a 1/4 of Mewtwos HP
Phase 3:
Bulk Up x1
Amnesia x1
Bulk Up x5 (healing when needed, minimum 3 Bulk Ups)
Cheer - Go All Out (Attack) x2
Leech Life to break his shield
Phase 4:
Mud Slap x2 - x5 (need his defence as low as possible)
Cheer- Go All Out
Leech Life (ideally get him to the red, if he removes your buffs too early in the yellow, use a few more of them so you survive and can hit harder)
Bulk Up x1
Leech Life until he faints

For completion, it just needs the "At least 2 of the following NPC's Pokémon" as helpers:
Bellibolt for Discharge (Paralyze)
Weavile for Leer (Defence down)
Arcanine for Leer (Defence down)
Mudsdale for Rock Smash (Defence down)

I keep using these methods for these phases and Mewtwo keeps wiping out my Mew.
I forgot that this should be added too:

Def 196
Spd 48
What I did with the Effort Value (EV) Stats boost was:
26 Proteins for Attack (This maxes out EV to 252)
21 Iron for Defence (Sets EV to 210)
5 Carbos (lastly) for Speed (Sets EV to 48 since that reaches a total of 510 EV wich is max)
Then I gave 2 Qualot Berries, that reduces Defence EV by 20 total, Then gave 1 HP UP to get EV to 10 and made Mew attack and faint 2 Lechonk (Those dark pigs) at the starting area for at total of 12 HP EV (Just to save 10 000 on 1 HP UP)
*EDIT: I did also use an Iron here to gain back the final 8 EV to Defence, instead of finding fighting 4 to 8 Defence EV giving pokémon*
I was also forced to use 3 Bottle Caps to max out 3 attributs with hyper training (which in my option, makes it feel like I have destroyed my Mew with Drugs, but I really want MewTwo too from this event)
Due to Mud Slap accuracy down, and critical hits, this is a very random hit/miss based Raid battle.
My best luck so far have been breaking the shield only to directly loose to getting status frozen after MewTwo reset his negative stats and get one shot'ed
An other thing that happend was right as I was about to break MewTwo's shield, he had missed me 8 times in a row, but the 9th attack MewTwo got a Psystrike Critical Hit and One Shot Mew (as it ignored my Bulk Up Defence)
My Current number of attempts is around 80, not a single win yet... *sigh*
It would've been nice if Nintendo allowed players to pick and choose their squad going into solo tera raids. Would've added another layer of strategy in the raids.
They probably didn't because they want to encourage online, as useless as NPC's are they can be more useful than noobs or griefers, add to that programming an interface would be a hassle and we all know GF has been exceptionally lazy at doing features that go against their design philosophy if they don't have to.
I can understand like choosing a type that all npcs have to use, but not selecting individual Pokémon for each NPC
Picking from a list of npc teams seems reasonable

But one of the things that GameFreak is doing in the Pokémon games, is to make it more fun and easy to beat Pokémon raids with your friends, and make you have to meet them. (Or to pay to Nintendo for "Nintendo online")

Well, you can always get an infinite amount of mews with the mighty mark if you have Pokemon Let's go, Shing Pearl/Brillant Diamond, time and pacience.
Wow! Thank you so much for the guide! I built my own OT Mew and didn’t want to catch the Mewtwo unless I soloed it 😂 I just did it tonight after some hard praying! NPC’s were Weavile, Bellibolt, and Dudunsparce. It was my first run with them and we did it with time on the clock! I’m so pumped! Thank you, and mad love 🙏❤️🎉🎉
while I didn't end up doing this solo, this strat did in fact help A LOT when I finally found a competent group of players and I finally got Mewtwo after so many frustrating tries. So thank you!! Great tips!❤
ya thats a safe way to go man becuase there no way to solo this raid i even tried everything by watching this video blaines on how to solo this raid i did everything right but it did't work. its a good thing i already got the mewtwo with online help.
It's just tough doing the other Mew builds since you can't really depend on rando teammates unless you get your friends in with a link code, and even then you can't exactly communicate with them directly on a Switch so you'd have to be on the phone or physically together

First mewtwo raid I beat him with more then enough time left with friends, and He kicked us out and it said we failed. Love this game.

You can save yourself some turns by not doing multiple attack cheers. Cheers do not stack with themselves, they only stack with the stat changes you're making throughout the fight. Atk and Def cheers at a 1.5x to 2.0x multiplier (it randomly rolls the value) to the atk and spatk or def and spdef, respectively. Additional cheers of the same type only reroll the value of the multiplier, it does not stack it. If you have at least 1 NPC in the fight, they will generall Def cheer at the start of the raid, so you're not buying yourself any benefit by doing that one, either.
One additional tidbit: when the tera raid mon clears your teams stats and abilities, this does not affect cheer buffs. Those are constant and cannot change, save for reapplying that cheer to simply reroll the value (which can lower the value, it's RNG).
Thanks for pointing this out! That was my understanding of the cheer mechanic as well so I figured he just didn't know about it. Just to add to this for other's that are reading this, it's only in solo that you wouldn't need to cheer multiple times since the cheers seem to last the entire rest of the raid. With four players though, the attack and defense cheers only last 3-4 turns.
So in solo it's enough to cheer only once to increase the atk and spatk, right? In this way the other cheer could be used to increase the Def and spdef

Followed this as much as a I could. My stats were different and I tried a few solos but no good. Only had 1 of the recommended NPCs a couple of times. I decided to give it a try online. Luckily got into a raid with 3 Japanese players using the Struggle Bug builds. Our different builds definitely came in handy combining Mud Slap and Struggle Bug. One of the Mews fainted but we were able to beat it as it was getting very close to the end! Thank you very much for the help! Finally got that Mewtwo before the event ended!
Thank you for writing this. I gave up on online battles, but I guess I was too harsh on people. I gave it the old college try and I found myself a really good group and beat it. I couldn't have done if you didn't inspire me to try again.

Finally did it! Your method was the best!!!! Im trying this since it lauched but using the other youtuber method. This one is so much better and required just 3 days to get a good RNG

Used this build in a group raid and the mud slaps really helped keep people alive. It got me my mewtwo in only 1 try, awesome! thanks! And it should also work offline so that is a bonus. Had to think less about what I was doing in a mew group though so ez first run.

Thnaks for giving us a strat that has at least 1% chance of winning, you're the best (genuinely), but I've now given up after 30+ tries. When a game mechanic is that frustrating and depends entirely on RNG maybe it's just not worth the time you waste on it

I tried, really did, passed the phase 1, got back to lower full accuracy of mewtwo, but everytime a get to phase 2, at the moment mewtwo nulify my stats, it comes with a psystrike and defeats me. Everytime

One big roadblock with this solo strategy is when Mewtwo Rests after you break the shield; a little cheap to give Mewtwo a Chesto Berry so it can definitely attack you after healing

I’ve already attempted this several times, and every time I made it to phase 3 the Mewtwo would manage to one-shot me with Psystrike despite it being paralyzed and having -6 accuracy, so I’m giving up on it.
Thank you very much, I would never had caught Mewtwo without your help. Even offline it can be done. I took quite a few tries even with the perfect team (over 17 tries). However Mewtwo can be caught offline.

So not only did I get mine low enough to proc the phase 4 without breaking the shield, I also managed to get it low enough within phase 4 to have it clear my stat boosts at the last second before I could kill it. Part of me thinks mudsdale might be a higher priority than arcanine and weavile due to the fact that it can lower defense while the shield is still up
You still need a ton of RNG luck with this strat as MewTwo will obliterate you with ice beam or psystrike when he is able to connect. It’s way too hard to buff and debuff him on your own as the NPCs are way too inconsistent.

FINALLY did it here in the 11th hour! Now, I ended up doing it online with a group of other (competent) Mew users, so perhaps I did luck out a bit, but I wanted to report that this general strategy still served me quite well! If you have been trying to solo for a while with no luck, try (if you can) hosting a couple of battles online. It may sound harsh, but if even one person locks in with something other than a Mew, cancel the battle and try again. I have found that most people who choose Mew are running a similarly effective build themselves, so if you can manage to get a full party of Mews, your chances of victory are pretty solid! Thank you @BLAINES for putting this out! 🙏

Geez, that must have taken lots of trial and error. Congratulations, and good luck to those attempting to solo it.
Even with this build solo is infuriatingly difficult as 1 freeze or a couple unlucky hits through the accuracy drops and the run is over but I’ve found this build actually works really well online. First try online I had 3 other mew users who had struggle bug and all I did the entire time was hit mud slaps to lower the accuracy and give myself an amnesia and a couple bulk ups whenever they got cleared. Soon as it entered the final stage I terrad and we wiped it out with a quarter of the time left. Never even needed to heal once other than 1 heal cheer I used cause 3 of us were frozen
I need to call out just hiw much RNG worked in your favor. In the first phase (up to the first Leech Life), Mewtwo used one Calm Mind (as a normal move) and nine attacking moves, and six of those nine either missed or hit Paralysis. If my calculations are right, taking the accuracy drops into account, there's only a 0.07% chance of that happening (not 7%; 0.07%). That's not even counting the chance that it uses Calm Mind first turn instead of an attacking move (I don't know if that's 1/4 or something else).
And that's just in the first phase.
The chances of things going your way this often are infinitesimal.

That trick to keep the NPCs you want goes beyond the single raid den, it applies to ALL raid dens! I finally soloed Mewtwo yesterday after about 30 attempts and got started with the DLC. Just did a 6 star raid in Kitakami today and had Bellibolt/Weavile/Arcanine again. Pretty neat!

How tf did I not get it with Bellibolt, Mudsdale, and Arcanine after 5 hours but when I changed my team to just weavile and bellibolt (and a bonus dudunsparce which immediately paralyzes mewtwo when the shield is down) it only took 2 hours 💀 Weavile just seemed way more consistent with the leers

Good video, definitely can’t do it with two npcs, need all three. Streamer luck mew thawing out first or second turn, mine always lasted 4-5 turns. Also the crits would ruin runs too, but curious how long it took you to do with this setup. It took me five hours in all until winning.

IMO, if a raid requires such a precise strategy to win, it's overpowered and unfair. I would never be able to figure this out myself and there's no way I would be able to beat Mewtwo without this strategy.
Update: still haven't defeated Mewtwo. The rng just isn't on my side. I only have until Saturday otherwise I miss out on H-Decidueye.
The annoying thing about trying for Freezing or paralysis is since raid mons get multiple actions each action does the immobile check so they can still hit your team even if you manage to get a status problem on them.
I'm not quite sold on these solo builds since they seem to count on RNG

@@7swordquanta459Dude same, I hate how you can literally do everything perfectly but can still get screwed over by get crit'd, getting frozen and your Mew not thawing out before it's killed, or Mewtwo despite having minus 6 accuracy it still hits every single one of its attacks, Mewtwo at minis 6 accuracy is more accurate than me when I use a 90% accurate move.
Dudunsparce has glare so it could more often paralyze mewtwo. Also, expert belt could be good but I haven’t tried it.
Does the random link code have anything to do with what team you get?
So that you might look for specific numbers so you can reset faster?
If someone want to get a list of teams to link codes if that is the case

I keep using the same strategy you explained, and I failed this raid battle so many times, this Mewtwo is a devil. I used Mud Slap 3 times, Amnesia once, Bulk Up a few times until wiped out my Mew with either Ice Beam, Aura Sphere, or Psystrike. It took me like 30 or 40 attempts to this, and I keep getting failure after failure after failure after failure after failure in this battle.
To those of you who started solo-ing against Mewtwo, the following TURNS in which moves to use against it are:

My bf and I can't get anything substantial back from leech life??? He even used bulk up 3-4 times and needed to heal and it still didn't even get him up passed halfway. We've got the right items and we're following the steps, is it mews starting stats that are the issue or what????
Man I love it when bellibolt doesnt paralyze. And then one time it does i get frozen. And during that whole time mewtwo constantly misses when in other times it constantly lands hits. Everything goes wrong at the same time for several runs. So frustrating.
I have the Mewtwo raid saved from two months ago. I will be fine the do the save the party Pokemon trick when you first join as a group with out losing the mewtwo raid correct ? Since it’s accessing the group offline

I tried this lots of times, and I don't think it works for me. Mew keeps being fainted early.
The freeze thawing odds are categorically wrong. You have 4/5ths chance to stay frozen. It's only a measly 20% chance to thaw.

Dude, I've been having such terrible luck just getting through the first phase or two. Mewtwo just loves hitting through max Mud Slap stacks, getting errant Freezes and crits, and I swear my Bellibolt is broken because he never gets any Para's... But I'm trying!
Question: Can I only get the mightiest mark for the first Mew I use? Because if possible i'd like to get the mightiest mark on the mystery gift Mew but that'd be really hard and I'd like to get Mewtwo out of the way first with the Blaines Mew in case it doesn't work out so I'll already have Mewtwo.

As of this time, I still haven't caught the darn thing. This is really hard going solo. There were times I was so close but no cigar. Few things I realized:
1. You NEED Bellybolt as one of the NPCs. Having a paralyzed Mewtwo is the only way you have a higher chance of catching it.
2. You REALLY NEED two more mon that can defense drop Mewtwo. Aint no way you should rely on only one.
Might as well just transfer Mewtwo from your previous games to Violet for those who want some peace of mind.
You know tera raid battles are always 100% catch rate? You could use a beast ball on it and it wont break out, so paralyze doesnt affect catch rate
@@ZappedInferno I think you might be confused. I was talking about the experience of beating Mewtwo solo so that I can catch it. Everyone knows that tera raids will always have a 100% catch rate as long as you already beat the concerned Pokemon.
I've been trying this with arcanine+staraptor+fat para idiot. Did everything in order perfectly and just ran out of time multiple attempts in a row. I just did not do enough damage. There were times where I even had to use 4 leech life to break the shield after the 6bulk and 2 allout cheers. I've triple checked my stats and item because I thought I was going crazy.
I figured the 2x intimidation for attack down would be pretty decent defensively (I just wanted to get some attempts in with 1 defense dropper, not that I think this comp was better.) But I honestly just think it's not doable with either A. staraptor, or B. arcanine as your only defense dropper. I really didn't watch enough to see if he was just never defense dropping, or maybe they just don't do enough dmg overall the bridge the gap (doubtful.) Either way I give up for today. I spent 5hrs trying for it and I will just try to hunt down 2x defense droppers tomorrow.
TLDR: I would recommend just going for 3 good partner pokemon instead of 2. You will waste too much time trying to get the perfect rng run with only 1. It is very demoralizing to get 2 attempts in a row that run out of time due to lack of damage, when everything else worked out perfectly defense wise. (good para's, good dodges etc.)

This is such a tough raid. I start to set up my stats, Mewtwo freezes me with Ice Beam, I Terastalize and then get instakilled by Psystrike before I can do anything and then the strat is ruined. And this is with Tauros, Muddsdale, and Bellibolt as my ai partners, but I've yet to get Mewtwo paralyzed, but he does get his attack nerfed every time Tauros comes back in.
yeh too bad tho but mewtwo is a special attacker so all attack nerfs are useless
