Also this is bulky I've got a lace weight machine there's no way in hell I'm untangling or seeing the stitches or even knowing how they're supposed to go 😂
I was so thrilled to find you on TH-cam. I took classes from you in Seattle many years ago - you are the best knitting teacher I have ever had. I'm hoping to have more time in the future to take online classes!
Hi! I don’t recognise your ‘handle’ but might remember your name! I have put all my studio classes online now. They are in bite size chunks and can be watched over and over. www.theknittingschool.online
A Facebook member of Machine Knitting Beginners group directed me to your picking up dropped stitches video. Wow! The close ups and your spoken directions are soooooo helpful.
Thank you so much. I just got a knitting machine from 1981. And my Norwegian patience was no over. I have been knitting the same project from scratch 12 times now. And my happiness for knitting was nearly killed. So thank you ❤️
If I had dropped those five stitches, I would have taken it all off and reknit! NOW I’ll at least try to repair so I can get used to it. Thank you, again, for these videos. Very clear and easy to see what is going on!
Thank you! If I'd seen this 2 days ago, I could have ripped back 3 rows and restored my dropped sts instead of scrapping a 200 row/200 needle piece. (Sigh)
Very clear instruction. I'd just like to add a word of caution. Make sure you clear the gate pegs as you rehang the loops. If you get one caught behind the gate pegs, you are creating a new problem.
Just about every scenario has happened while learning to use my machine, I’ve ripped off all the knitting and started all over again, this is all new to me, and I can’t even get past knitting a cast on rag lol, like the spider saying .. Try, try, try again, with this information, I’m sure I’ll succeed.
Thank you so much for this clear video. As a-new-on-the-good-old-bond-knitter with no experience with machine-knitting that comes extremely handy. To latch up in stokkinette stitch is easy. but out there was little informasion to pick up in purl stitch. Your video is great. Thank you.
Great tutorial. I don't have a ribber so I must reshape stitches to form ribs. What is the easiest way to pickup a dropped knit stitch? (where it appears as a knit on the wrong side and purl on the public side)
Hi, 🤗, The Knitting School, I'd like to know where you get you Yarn Cones right behind you, there? And more? I have a 2 Knitting machines but also thinking about get a different 3rd one. Does it have to be Cone yarn or can you just use yarn bought from the big yarn stores not at companies? Huh. I hope you receive this message & reply to it. 🙄😒. Thank you. Oh, I also hand knit & crochet + sew a bit by hand & by machine. Thank you again. Sincerely, Elsa R. From out in California
Some come direct from the spinner. Others come from ebay, colourmart, etsy. Because I was industrially trained, I tend to prefer industrial yarn that has been spun for machine knitting, with added oils/waxes to lubricate the machine. You can use most hand-knitting yarn, too without too much problem - just got to try it and see.

Thank you Helen - I now know that I just have to put a bunched up mess onto the latch hook and start pulling it apart 😊
Yeah I don't really care about reknitting it I just want the next one not to do that ...I dont care if there's a ladder
Also this is bulky I've got a lace weight machine there's no way in hell I'm untangling or seeing the stitches or even knowing how they're supposed to go 😂
Finally! I no longer have to start all over again after dropping stitches! Thank you🥳
